"Useless perhaps to barbaric savage humans.. perhaps, but what do they know of talent? Ha. Ha! Well." She stopped talking, and hummed what one would assume the verse to the part of the song she played. As her fingers pulled on the Lyre's strings, she glanced up and 'all of a sudden' saw Alces, only to jump and in effect snap the string back which flung into the skin on her shoulder and caused her to yelp (though yelp in quite a refined way, I might add.) "Alces!" She proclaimed, sounding half like she was accusing him of something and half like she was momentarily terrified.
"Do you make it a practise to sneek up on women in the evening?" She continued, setting the lyre in her lap and rubbing her shoulder, shaking her head. Her face once again relaxed, and her voice had been far from its normal tone when she was 'upset.' She sounded if anything startled but suprisingly good natured at the moment, despite Alces' 'prank' to scare her.

"No! Of course not Lady Rosa." He sounded a bit surprised himself, not having considered that it might have startled her in anyway, "Are you all right?" he asked, eyeing her shoulder, and continuing to move forward towards the bench. "I didn't want to interrupt you, and have you stop playing the instrument." He explained, "It was a nice song." He stopped once he had reached the bench and made a motion with his head and hand, as if asking her if it was all right to sit there.
"I didn't mean to startle you. I'm sorry Lady Rosa." as he said this, he gave her an apologetic bow of his head.

Rosa looked at him crossly a moment before cracking a smile. She closed her eyes and shook her head before opening them again, "Well, Alces, I shall show mercy and not bestow my wrath- just this once." She said, nodding at him and patting the bench welcomingly in responce. "If only because I believe.. it may... well, it may be I that needs to appolagise.." She said, shifting her gaze back to the now broken string on the lyre. Bah to appolagizing. Whoever was started 'appolagizing' in the first place obviously wasent noble or clever enough to get a person to forgive them via other means, according to Rosa, but she had already gotten on enough people's badsides as of late and she decided to suck up her pride and take the quick route this time.
Not to mention the fact nobody else was around to prove it.

"That's good to know." Alces replied, to the comment she had made about showing him 'mercy'; smiling a bit as he said that. He took a seat on the bench beside her and turned his head a bit to the side to face her. "No, I don't think you need to appolagize. It was I that startled you. Not only that, I caused you to break a string. For that I am also sorry. Would you like me to find a way to fix it? Or perhaps go into Gaia or the Kithain's realm and find you a new string?" He asked curiously, hoping she wasn't too mad about having broken her instrument.
"I suppose that means that I don't get to hear you play a song on that thing tonight?" He half-asked, half-commented.

Rosa's eyebrow arched suspicoiusly, "No? You don't feel I have reason to appolagise?" She trailed off and examined the sting further. "Ill have my Kithain fix it. She has fixed atleast a dozen by now, the strings of my instruments tend to break.. quickly.." She said, thinking about what this ment briefly. "I will play one for you, sometime, when the song is appropriatly prepared." She stared at him for a good thirty seconds, obviously considering backing out of her original intention to make amends; which appeared not to be needed.
Well, gosh darn it, she WAS noble and clever enough to earn forgiveness without having to -say- it.
She smiled for this, as she lurched forward and went to hug him. "Well, Alces, whether or not you deserve it I am sorry. You have been nothing but a friend to me all this time, and I will try not to jump to conclusions so quickly. You only confuse me, and I suppose I have iratic tempers at time - but in any case, I truly wish to maintain a friendship with you. For you know.." By then, she would of leaned back again from the hug, "If I intend to get anywhere in life I am going to -have- to have -some- friends." She said happily, "Not to mention... well, surely im not King Cervus' favourite noblewoman. Considering there are only three at the moment.. I dont think having his cousin as a friend would.... hurt any." She said with a light laugh, sounding half like she was joking. THough of course, she was probably speaking honestly to atleast a small extent. Erm.. small.

"Very well." Alces said with a nod, sounding somewhat glad that she had decided to have her Kithain fix it instead of him having to go get another string and mess up somehow. "No, I don't." he answered, probably not telling the truth, since he was still somewhat sad that she had seemed to not want to be his friend the night before. With his age, he had become much more convincing while trying to convince others he felt one way, when he really didn't.
He had been about go say something more when he had that surprised look on his face for a few seconds; not having expected Rosa to suddenly hug him. At first, his arms remained at his sides as he blinked, but they slowly moved to embrace her as well, and pat on the back lightly, almost as if comforting her or telling her it was okay. At the mention of her still wanting to be his friend the surprised look vanished and was replaced with a smile. It was now him that went to hug her this time, "I'm glad! Because I still want to be your friend too." he exclaimed happily.

Rosa grinned again, returning the newfound embrace until she leaned back some - least enough to see his face. "Yes. I didnt mean to be quite so.. uhm.." She closed her eyes, wondering what that word was. She had mentioned the events of the prior night to Ahnna, who had belted out and called her 'cruel.' Oh! Thats it! "So cruel, truly." She opened her eyes then, and gave her own convincing nod. "You seem to be a very.. well appreciated man, Alces." She grinned at him, shaking her head a bit, "And a man! You feel any different?" She asked curiously, before she shook ehr head and returned to the original subject, "In any case, I see my 'cruelty' didnt affect you as lady Ahnna predicted." She rolled her eyes, annoyment tracing over her face as if that entire lecture she had to sit through was for nothing.
She wasent a -child- anymore. She wasent even a -teenager- anymore. Yes, well, those lectures would soon stop - if Rosa had anything to say about it.

Alces continued to smile at her and just gave a shrug, "It's quite all right. You could have been having a bad day or something. Everyone gets that way at times." He assured her, even though, that too, was just something he had said to make her feel as though she hadn't been the one that needed to apolagize. He frowned slightly when she told him that he seemed to be a well appreciated man. "What makes you say that Lady Rosa?" He asked curiously before getting side-tracked to some extent with her question, "It feels quite different." He stated, "And it will take some time getting used to. How are you adjusting to the change from being a 'teen' as the Kithain put it, to becoming an adult?" At her last remark he cocked his head off to the side, "I hope that is a good thing?"

Rosa blinked once, "Oh. It is simply that.. well, you have everyone's better side, and none would dare claim you to be a cruel or insufferable man, Alces. It is.. a treasure, I suppose. I, however, have no use for such status. We all are different, obviously." She said, and went to flick some of his hair out of his face as she awnsered the other, "I feel a little different. I am proud to be grown, to be an adult and not feel the thumb of elders on my back at all times. Though, I miss certin things .. many games, if you would go so far as to call them games, that I used to enjoy.. before, I no longer enjoy. It is a bit depressing, though there are many things available to adults, and not to teenagers, so it will only be a short amount of time until I discover comfort in myself and my life again." She rambled, apparantly she was quite capable of talking about.. herself.. forever. She blinked once again at the third question, and nodded, "Yes yes, it is good. Well, it wouldent be good if I had been honest - for then you would of been apathetic twords my feelings twords you." This seemed to be some revalation for her as her eyebrows started to furrow, and if Alces wasent atleast somewhat fammilar with the way she thought he ought to know that it would probably be a matter of time before she accused him of 'not caring how she felt.'
But for now, she said nothing, and just stared.

"I suppose it is." Alces nodded in agreement with her and listened as she went on to talk about how she was adjusting to the change. "I am glad you feel proud. You should be. You have become a very beautiful young woman." He shut one of his eyes for a moment as she moved the hair out of his face, and reopened it once she was done. "I'm glad thats good..." he said rather slowly, nodding his head a few times as he listened to the rest of what she had to say.
When she had stopped, he went to lean back slightly, to sit up straight again and smiled looking quite happy now, since they were on good terms again. "I trust you have had time to fully recover from the change?"

Rosa kept staring, rather blankly. Her mouth opened to form a word, but she cut herself off when he mentioned her apperance.
Forget this, who cares how he actually -feels- about you if he thinks your beautiful.
She flashed a rather flashy smile (har har) after that note, and nodded on his last mention. "Yes, enough time. You have seen your cousin about your duties, yet.. 'Herald' Alces?" She asked, winking at him on the 'herald' word. She looked at his hair again, and seemed annoyed with something, but in the end she just forced herself to look at her lyre as she scooted maybe a half an inch away and then looked back at him with a smile, though in truth her eyes were gazing beyond his face.

He didn't seem to notice that she annoyed with his hair, and was smiling back at her kindly. "No, I have yet to see King Cervus about my duties. I'm sure I will get the chance soon." He wondered silently why she had winked at him when she had said the word 'herald', and asked, "And you? Have you been to see him about your duties now as a Countess?"
He leaned back a bit more to get comfortable and folded his arms for something to do for the most part, and also, to allow him to get more comfortable. He glanced at the ground for a moment, as the movement of a small bug crawling nearby caught his eye. He blinked at it once, then returned his gaze to Rosa, his smile coming back.

"Oh." Rosa replied, simply at first. She seemed a bit depressed, brooding maybe, as she glared now at her lyre. Eventually she just shook her head, "No, I don't believe neither I, nor my sister, are considered Countesses as of yet. I suspect there is a much more formal way to declare us as such then.. well, maybe it is simply because I havent seen much of King Cervus. My sister hasent mentioned it either, but all in due time." She sighed, making herself relax again. She leaned twords him and smirked, "Not to mention, at the rate Im going with our King.. he will probably declare me Muris' subservant before he gives me any sort of power.." She said, in a voice tinged which what was intended to be an amusing statement and.. well, bitterness. "Aesculus.." She mussed to herself, sitting up straight, "I suppose I will have to force myself to.." She shivered again, bringing her arms close to her body as a rather disgusted and pained look seemed stained on her face.

"Yes, the King has been rather busy it seems. Of course, he has a good reason no doubt. There is still much work to be done to restore the Sun Court." He stopped himself from going on about that and back to the subject they were currently on, "I wouldn't know if there was a formal way, but there most likely is." He nodded a few times and watched her as she leaned closer, and looked curious as to why she might say that. "You will have to force yourself to?" He turned his head off to one side yet again, and took a guess at what she had been about to say. "Be nice to him? You know, I don't see why you don't like him. He is very nice once you get to know him." He said in a matter-of-factly tone. "Would it be that bad if you just tried to forget about the fact that you believe he is from the Moon Court and try to get a long? Perhaps you two may become friends?!" He had a rather hopeful tone in his voice as he said the last part.

Rosa shook her head, her arms still nailed to her sides. "I will have to force myself." She repeated after him, matter of factly aswell until she shook her head further, "Oh don't be silly, Alces. Why not just go straight for the kill- say I should become some droning slave to him and his every boring selfish whim! Or perhaps we can be lovers and create an army of ridiculously attractive children? Not that all my children wouldent be - I just.." She closed her eyes and shook her head, "I guess you wouldent understand." She said, letting the sarcastic voice fall some, and a little bit of the bitterness go aswell. "He just.. iritates me. I can't exactly explain it. Isnt there anything in life that just.. gets under your skin?" She half demanded, until she scooted closer to him and went to lean on him in an even more demanding way, deciding if she was going to pout she might aswell do it well.
