I kicked around a lot of different ideas for this project but was ultimately inspired by another Dalek egg I saw scrolling through my wall. I was going to use a hardboiled egg but one the FAQ opened up the options a little more I thought a play dough egg would be more fun! I used tooth picks wrapped in gorilla tape to make the eye stalk and “egg beater” and used buttons for the orb plating. After I finished everything else my little eggy decided to infiltrate the local Dalek colony…so far they suspect nothing
Comments/Extra Info: I actually had a lot of fun trying out some new techniques on a bunch of eggs, but this one turned out to be my favorite of the bunch. To get that beautiful color and pattern, I let it sit in some blue dye for five minutes to get a pale base coat to start with. And once I'd done that, I wet down a paper towel with some white vinegar and scattered drops of blue food coloring on it. With the paper towel ready, I wrapped the egg up in it and held it for another three minutes to make sure the pattern transferred before unveiling the final product! I just adore how the final texture turned out.
Preferred Gender for Semi-Customs: Female (Also, would it be too much to ask for a colorist to avoid most of the really old templates? I know I technically have no say, but those templates always make me sad. They just need updating so bad. :C)
Comments/Extra Info: I am a fan of a certain author and I always see amazing tattoos based off one of the Marques in her book. This rose above is one of those marques. Since reading this book I have been seriously tempted to get a tattoo of something. The words on the back of the egg, “Love as thou wilt” are great inspiration as well. And since I seem to really like roses lately… I decided to take pictures of the egg in a bouquet of roses from my Aunt’s garden. :}
Comments/Extra Info: My failed attempt to make tiger stripes.. with nail polish xD Black was painted with face paint cause this momma has no real paints.

Comments/Extra Info: There is no pink on this egg. Any pink you might see is a mistake and should not be there. It's a blown out egg decorated with tea stains and black felt tip.
