Allemand felt even more sweltering guilt guzzle down his throat while he gave a hard presumptuous swallow. The owner of the store belted out in confusion, trying to piece it all together. Allemand shrugged it off as if nothing had happened. The tension was quickly defused and Allemand got enough confidence to chase her. He whipped past a shelf of people, moving groggily about their day, then came to Thea.
He slowed his gait, moved with deep sympathy trudging his feet along the wooden dock and placed a hand on Thea's shoulder with his best form of empathy.
"I feel guilt, that's the only thing I feel anymore." Allemand peered down at the peeling dock and tried to imagine a new world, filled with an optimistic leadership. He saw himself and Thea, being advent during a royal crowning. "A new world?" Allemand asked himself in confusion. "A new world." He turned Thea around astound at a new beginning. "You're done running," he exhaled through the whisking cold air. "We're going to take back Thol Maldir. We're going to crush them!" Allemand softened his gaze and took Thea into a full swing-of-a-hug and swept her off of her feet.
Allemand felt something new, a gaping hole of a transgressor burdened by guilt and sorrow.
He felt it. Hate. Not for Thea, but for Drexel, the man who'd started this all. It was time to eliminate him.
He hugged her close to his chest, not loosening his grasp.
