Lynora stood back a bit as she was pushed, now feeling stupid herself for placing so much blame on him. "Well that can't be true....I'm sure there's at least one woman in this world who's smart." she said softly, though even she wasn't wanting to continue with the conversation either. "Sorry I yelled at you....Where I come from there are lots of smart girls but we're always undermined because we're women." she said softly, blushing again from her appology. "So I heard your dad is having a birthday! Are you excited about that?" she asked in a desperate attempt to repair the conversation.

Althalos glanced at her once. "It is but a formal event to me," he answered as he flipped a page. "It might be as any other party. I would stand by and be forced to listen to every noble promote his idiotic daughter to me or face a mindless girl try to seduce me with her body when she won't woo me with her mind. I have seen prettier servant girls. At least they are more competent." He put down his book and stood. "Tell me, Lynora, how is beauty defined in your world? Is it better to be smart or to be beautiful? Finally, what is your stance?" What misfortune it would be if beauty was still better there.

Lynora's blush got brighter with all of the questions, how was she supposed to answer those questions?? "Um....Well a lot of people prefer brainless beauties in my world. But there are a lot of people who prefer girls with a brain too. They're just harder to find. I think that there should be a good balance between the two." she said softly, turning her head a little so as to avert the man's gaze. "I think a man should be handsome....strong....but smart too. But most importantly I think a man needs to have a good heart." Lynora seemed to be in a bit of a daydream as she explained her ideal man and snapped out of it. "A-anyways, that's just the daydreams of a 15 year old, I don't think you should base your preferences on what I want." she said with a small laugh.

Althalos felt a smile tug at his lips as he listened to Lynora. They were having a real conversation and she was actually voicing an opinion. This girl was getting more and more interesting. "Yes, a good heart. It won't do to have a smart person who lives in evil. They can get so much done, but hurt everyone around," he agreed. "Your preferences are quite similar to mine. To me, a beautiful woman is smart and kind. A mind to confide in, to debate before decisions, to come up with compromises with. It is unfortunate that many seek beauty. Such a thing fades in time, but a heart and the mind will only become more beautiful with care. For such, they constitute true beauty." Realizing how passionate he sounded, he coughed into his hand. "Excuse me. I got carried away there."

Lynora felt her breathing subside for only a few minutes until the Prince stopped his daydreaming as well. "I guess we have something in common." she said with a small giggle. "By the way....I don't think you ever told me your name...I feel silly just calling you Prince." she said softly, suddenly becoming self conscious of her pink cheeks.

Althalos felt even more embarrassed now that Lynora had pointed that out. "It's Althalos," he answered her. "With that, there shall be no need for formalities. While we're alone, please address me by name." He caught himself thinking that Lynora was rather attractive when she giggled. Such strange thoughts... He cleared his throat then. "Anyhow, do you plan on attending the party? It would be nice to have someone to talk to, and I'm sure you have nothing better to do here."

Lynor's blush subsided a little as she nodded to answer his question. "Yes I suppose I am. Sreda kind of talked me into it. I'm still worried I might say something rude to the King but I'll just have to watch what I say I guess." she said softly, standing and smoothing the wrinkles in her dress. "I-I suppose you want to get back to reading that book. I'm sorry I interrupted you."

Althalos somehow was reluctant to let her leave, though he did want to finish his book. Then a thought struck him. "Before you go, don't you want a dress to wear for tonight?" he asked. "As normal as your dress is to you, it is rather unsettling in this time. If you seek not to be rude to my father, I'd recommend a change."

Lynora looked down at her dress, everyone said it was really revealing and she didn't think much of it at the time but if the prince was suggesting her to change then maybe she should. "I'll let Sreda know, she said she might have a dress for me to wear tonight." she said softly, giving the prince a clumsy curtsey. "Thanks for the tip Al." she said before she headed out of the room he was in.

Althalos had been about to correct Lynora in regards to what his name was, but he found that he didn't mind. She merely seemed to have shortened it anyhow. Sitting back down, he tried to return to his book, but found he could not do so. There was just something about her, something aside from intelligence he could not find in any of the women here.Sreda had been eagerly waiting outside and hurried to Lynora's side once she came out. "I see no slap on your cheek. Just what happened in there?" she asked as she examined the other girl for any marks. When she thought about it, if the prince did slap her, she might have run out in tears.

Lynora laughed a little and walked with Sreda. "Well...nothing really. We just talked. If you ask me I'd say he's not too excited about his father's birthday party tonight." she said softly, judging from his lack of enthusiasm. "Should we find a dress for tonight? Or is there another place you want to show me?"

"It may be best to get the dress. The sun will set soon, so we must make haste," she said, beginning to walk to the front of the castle. When she was sure no one would hear, she decided to reveal their next destination. "We shall go to the royal seamstress. Her work is costly, but it is also very beautiful. It would be worth the money. Fear not about the payment. I have saved some wages, so there should be enough to pay her."

Lynora blushed and felt embarrassed. "Oh no! You don't have to spend all of your hard-earned money on me! I don't want to be greedy or anything!" The poor girl probably didn't get paid very well as it was, to spend all her money on one thing, that was just too much to ask for.

Sreda smiled back at her. "Oh, but you can't attend a party without proper attire. It is fine. I have no use for my money anyways," she said. The castle already gave her lodging and food, so her savings did not have much use to her. She could always get the amount back over time.

She gave a small sigh, she wasn't quite satisfied with that answer but maybe money wasn't as big a deal here as it was in her world. "Alright, as long as you're sure it's not asking too much." she said softly, hoping this wasn't a mistake to use all of the poor servant girl's money.
