"Thank you," she murmured, accepting his help, too tired to be reluctant or try to be independent.

He put his face under her chin carefully. "Lean on me, we'll stand together."

She nodded a bit and leaned heavily against him, preparing to stand.
The little humming bird would zip back and dive into Kyad's hair right about then.

He winced, but didn't let the bird make him stumble. She needed him to be steady. He stood carefully with her. "Steady, steady, I've got you."

"I found a unicorn," the little bird chirped. "He's coming!"

"Oh thank the currents!" he said. "You'll be healed soon, Lian!" he said, excited.

He nuzzled her gently. "It's okay, just stick with us a little longer, then you'll feel all better," he assured her.

The unicorn would wander out of the forest just as Lian's hooves left the river.

The unicorn studied her and shook his head. "What happened here?" he asked as he moved closer and nudged her wings gently.
Lian bit back a whimper as the slight touch brought on a wave of pain.

"I don't know the details, but can you heal her first, THEN question her? Please?" he was almost begging.

Grumbling quietly to himself about mares who didn't have the sense to keep from getting hurt, the unicorn set to work on Lian's injuries. When the worst were taken care of, he stepped back, exhausted. "That's the best I can do. She'll have to let them heal the rest of the way. They won't get infected, and I doubt she'll fly until her feathers grow back. But she'll be fine."
Lian settled down on the ground, feeling as exhausted as the unicorn. Though, she was relieved that the pain had stopped.

"Thank you very much," he said quietly. "Is there anything I can do to for you? In appreciation."

"Just keep her off her wings," the healer grumbled, heading on his way.
Lian tried to figure out if that even made any sense.
