Dale sighed softly, shaking his head. "It's fine. It's pretty bad news. I'm sure some dinner and a movie'll cheer you up a bit, right?" and went to his side to change, opening his dresser and grabbing his needed things, finding his Sunday best. Ich, he hated the color blue. Different color, different' color. Gray? Too neutral. Red? Too hot shot. Yellow, he's go with yellow. Oh, but with the black slacks he looked like a honey bee. And he couldn't wear khakis. ... He changed into khaki's and ended up wearing the nice blue polo, smiling at Sarad, grabbing his wallet. "All right! Let's go have a fun night on the town!" and opened the door, letting Sarad go through first before closing it and walking. "Now you wanna eat first or see a movie? I'm not sure which one I want, to be honest."

Sarad put on a pair of black slacks and an ivory silk shirt with gold clasps, the best clothing he had at school. "Thank you," he smiled at Dale as he walked through the door. "movie, i don't think i can eat right now." his stomach was still cramping from everything that happened. he wouldn't be able to concentrate on enjoying the food if they ate right now, it would only remind him of what he'd lost. "what movies are out? i don't really get to watch them often so i've no idea what to even choose." he walked with Dale to the theatre, wondering what kind of movies would be showing. "hmm, what is Robocop? sounds interesting-" he looked down the list, "Frozen? i think i've heard about that one, actually. is there anything you've been wanting to see? i'm ok with anything, really."

"My sister said Frozen was good, she liked it a lot so we're going to watch that." Dale said, "Haven't heard much about Robocop. Isn't that an old movie?" he wondered, looking at the other movies. "Two tickets for Frozen, please." he said, paying for them and handing Sarad his. "There ya go. Popcorn. Soda? I think I could go for a soda."

"Soda?" the peeked his interested a bit. Sarad wasn't allowed to drink soda and never had, really. "I wouldn't mind a soda," of course he didn't want Dale to know, it would be just one more thing that made him different. "i'll get the soda and popcorn since you got the tickets." they could use their student cards here, after all. "What kind do you want?" he didn't know what was good so they should get what Dale liked in case he didn't like it. "wasn't there a song from Frozen that was really popular? i think some of the girls were singing it in my club-" and there it was. the reminder that he was no longer a member of that club. but he couldn't let himself linger on that, it was their turn in line. "One medium popcorn and a medium-" he looked at Dale, not sure what kind of soda to order.

"Ah, you don't have to, but thanks." and followed him in to the concession stand, looking at the assortment of treats. He'd just get a popcorn, Dale didn't want to ruin his dinner. "yea she was telling me about that, my sister. One of the songs got crazy popular. They all did but, oh the... I dunno she said it was in the middle." and looked at the menu, taking note of things before looking at the sodas. "Vanilla Doctor Pepper.' he said.

Vanilla Doctor Pepper-that was an odd name for a soda. Sarad picked up the cup when the lady handed it to him and gave over his student card once he was sure they had everything they wanted, he walked with Dale to the 12th theatre where their movie was playing. "well, here goes nothing." they found seats towards the middle, but as the theatre began to fill up, Sarad noticed something that made him blush. the majority of the audience were couples. Guys and girls holding hands, laughing as they dipped their hands into the popcorn and accidentally touched. he glanced at Dale and then focused on the screen, ignoring the half cuddling students all around them.

Dale was a little surprised when Sarad ordered a large of both, realizing he meant to share. He wanted to question it but decided to keep it to himself. Sarad's Aunt already chewed him out he could still be a little nervous about criticism, and Dale didn't want to freak him out over sharing of all things. "I'll carry the popcorn." and popped a few pieces in his mouth, adding butter and some salt before continuing on to the theater. "Middle seas, right there. Best seats in the house this is great." and happily sat down. "Trade you popcorn for soda." and traded, sipping from the straw before setting it down. "I have to admit, the previews are probably my favorite part of the entire movie." And he watched, paying little mind to the others around them, sipping from the soda again before reaching for the popcorn that was in Sarad's lap. He reached a little more, feeling the paper and grabbing it. "Mind if I take this or do you wanna hold it?"

The soda was sweet and fizzy, he liked the way it felt when he swallowed and Sarad found himself actually enjoying the movie more than he thought he would. Sarad thought that sharing soda and popcorn was the norm when you went to a movie with someone else. it was cost effective, after all. he found the problem with it, however, when he felt Dale digging for popcorn with the bag in his lap, making the bag shift slightly and causing his nerves to tingle. he'd been careful that their hands hadn't touched, but this was worse. "go ahead," he whispered, glad when Dale asked to take it. a few minutes later the song 'Let It Go' started and Sarad forgot all about popcorn and his first sips of soda. it was just so beautiful, he could understand why it had become so popular. that was all it took, he was hooked into the movie, his eyes fixed on the screen until the very end. "wow," he said softly as he sat back while the credits ran, smiling. "that was really good!"

"Thank you." he took the bag, happily eating as the movie continued to play. Within the next few minutes, the song his sister had been singing over the phone played and he couldn't help but grin, pausing his snacking to enjoy the song and the visual effects. This was beautiful. He glanced at Sarad, ready to make a comment but the other seem so entrapped he only smiled, feeling a little flicker of warmth at the other being so happy before focusing back on the screen. "I wish puberty was that nice to me." he laughed, taking a few thirsty gulps of soda. "Ready for dinner?"

Sarad looked at Dale confused, "i think it treated you just fine..." Dale was rather handsome, so Sarad didn't know why he'd say that. "Oh, sure." he was starting to feel hungry now, and he needed to eat anyways so might as well. "where do you want to go?" he stood up and gathered their trash to throw it away, there wasn't much soda left so he took a couple sips before making sure that Dale was done and throwing it away. "i was thinking the 'home cooking' place down the street. Black Bear or something like that. One of the guys from club said it's got a lot of really good food. he was suggesting we go there for club one night.since Sarad wouldn't be able to go with the others, he might as well try it now.

Dale stared before giving an embarrassed laugh, "Nah I mean, quickly. Elsa just had to have a musical number and let down her hair to become suddenly hot in a span of like five minutes. I've spent what? Six years so far? And it's not done yet. But thanks." he gave another chuckle, "Puberty treated you pretty well too." Compliments, just compliments, but that really frazzled Dale. He never considered himself attractive, maybe decently so, your average 5 on a one to ten scale. "Well with us and our fancy selves, we must go to the lowest of the low so that we make seem incredibly posh. We're going to McDonalds. You all right with that?"

"Of course not, i would love to go!" It seemed to be a night of firsts for Sarad. he wasn't sure how to take the comment about puberty treating him well, he blushed a little, but said nothing. "what is good there? i-i've never been to one. my Aunt doesn't care for such things." any fast food was frowned upon, actually anything less than three stars was frowned upon and that was only when they wanted to go 'cheap'. he supposed he was spoiled growing up, with his family being so well off, but he never really felt that way. his cousins, maybe, but not Sarad. then again, you can't tell if you're spoiled, at least it was really hard to recognized that within yourself.

Man, excited about movies, soda, and now McDonalds? Either Sarad was really poor or really rich, and judging by his non-Walmart or Target pants, he'd guess the latter. "Well it's the perfect food if you want a heart attack in sixth months, but only if you eat it constantly. Sparingly is fine." he walked in to the fluorescent lit building and pointed to the menu. "since you bought the snacks, I'll be buying dinner and you can't stop me. I suggest everything except maybe the fish sandwich."

"But-" Dale wouldn't be agrued with and Sarad had to accept his offer of paying, again. "thank you." he looked at the menu and was shocked at how many different kinds of hamburgers there were. he was at a loss as to what to pick, so he decided to go with something simple. he carefully observed how the people in front of them ordered so he wouldn't stand out. when it was there turn he smiled shyly at the man behind the counter, "Um, can i have a-number one?" he asked, getting a big mac since that seemed to be their signature dish. "Small, medium or large?" He'd just shared a back of popcorn, so he shouldn't need too big of a burger, right? "small, please." "what to drink?" Sarad had forgotten about drink and he panicked slightly, looking for what they had to drink and when he found the list, it seemed to all be soda. "uh-" the man smiled, "would you like a soda, juice or milk?" "Oh," that was much simpler, "um, soda, please?" why not try a different kind this time? the man placed an empty cup in front of him and Sarad looked at it with confusion. where was the soda? "Anything else?" Sarad looked at Dale, not sure if he should ask about the soda and look stupid or just wait and see what he did.

Dale leaned on the counter at Sarad ordered, "I will have your quarter pounder with cheese, no onion. I will take a medium coke." Taking his reciept and the cup he handed the man his card, letting him swipe it before taking it back and smiling, looking at Sarad. "Over here." and walked him to the soda machine. "Ice," the styrafoam was pressed against the metal handle, ice falling in, "And I'm still feeling like Dr. Pepper. Not vanilla though, limited options." and filled his up, pausing and letting the foam die before filling it up more, moving to the side to add a lid and a straw. "You're not sick or anything? Probably should've asked that before we shared a drink in the theater." Sarad had only gotten one straw and Dale hadn't noticed until the end of the movie.
