After taking the marked path turned out rather slower than she'd intended it to, Hazzan was looking to make up time. Forging a path towards the icier, lower road made sense to her - after all, ice would have less friction than snow, right? She'd lose steering, but it was well lit. "H'yah!" she urged her sled onward, feeling confident in her decision.

Unfortunately luck was not quite on Sinter's side.

Kursha was in the midst of rounding out his torso, when he noticed one of his neighbours, the redblood, patting his snowball with exceptional force. A second later the redblood's arm went through the torso. Kursha burst out laughing, his high cackle piercing the frigid air. Unable to continue working, Kursha abandoned his torso.

"Oh, that really sucks!" he exclaimed between fits of laughter. Setting aside his work and leaned over his completed rump, grinning at the red-blood. "It's too bad!" he said, his voice still burbling with amusement. "Things seemed to be going so well for you. I guess you were just a little too ambitious, huh?" Kursha leered. "Well, a word of advice: save yourself the humiliation and drop out now. You're bound to lose anyway."

As Kursha taunted his opponent, he failed to realise that he was not getting very much done on his own torso.

(There is a post missing because I accidentally rolled 20 D20s, and swiftly deleted it out of embarrassment. Of course only after it was gone, did it occur to me that it might have been bad move. Sorry!)

GROSS GROSS GROSS! Alexin stumbled his way out the trash pile with a fresh cut on his arm and covered in stinking refuse. Translucent blue tears threatened at the corner of his eyes but he kept on going, determinedly getting back onto his sled and heading towards the icy tunnel. Above, Splitch hooted in confusion and displeasure as their troll disappeared, and momentarily swooped downwards, a huge white shape calling out in fear. Alexin hooted back though and the lusus settled, returning to swooping around in the sky. Alexin aimed for the icy low road with pinpoint accuracy, attracted by the promise of a quick slide and the shiny, shiny lights. Now, to hope it’d go a little bit better than the rest of the sled race was going – it seemed he’d made the worst choice every single time, after all.

Nervit tossed and tossed and came out with a much better sled than she'd started with ; and managed to set off a trashalanche which (she noted with a mixture of horror and pride) had buried at least one blueblood. Thankfully she managed to miss the fact alien wa bleeding because otherwise she would have panicked. Instead, she headed straight for the median – those lights were just a little too ominous, but there was no way that snow was going to be safe either. Reclining on her sled she kicked off, determined to at least not finished last – though quietly, secretly, she hoped for a win.

She took a little longer than necessary to finish that course, she admitted it. Okay, it was unintentional. She really didn't mean to take that long, it's just— AAAH forget it. When the other trolls started making the icicles fall down, it was ever harder to do, and no, she did NOT like it. Vremea pursed her lips, having finally got the hang of the sled, and learning what way goes what and which way goes how. She was a bit proud of herself none the less, and didn't care if she took too long or not— she was still safe. Ok. Good.

And safe was the way she would go. The only path she could see was the median. She sighed, hopping off her sled and going to slowly walk down.

After zipping around falling trash in a storm of adrenaline, Keionx had some sense that this had been a bad idea. She also didn't care. Despite falling behind because of it, she slid back into the race with a big grin on her face.
That.
Had.
Been
AWESOME.
Clearly she had just done some heroic s**t right there. She'd dodged monsters, and was still going to save the day. Something like that.

Wait, why was she here again? Oh, yeah. The race. As she sped towards the highway, she wondered. High road, or low road her imagination was not the sort to mention the median at all.

She chose the low road - not for its name, obviously, but because ice meant speed and speed was good.
