Rosalie jumped a little at the sound of a voice, her head flying up from where her arms were crossed to stare at the source of the voice. It only took her a moment to register what he had said and that he was asking if she was ok - definitely not trying to hurt her - she ran a hand through her amber locks, sighing gently. She took a moment to collect herself before nodding, her two-toned eyes watching him. "Oh, yea, I'm just a little overwhelmed I guess. Thanks." she said simply, thinking for a moment. She then added "And I'm starving.. everything smells amazing. I don't remember the last time I had something to eat that didn't come out of a can." She smiled gently, trying not to be so cold and overly defensive. She just didn't want to let these people make her feel too comfortable until she was sure they meant her no harm.

Ryan stuck his hand out, his works slurring a little with his Texas drawl and accent.

"Name's Peter Ryan. But call me Ryan."

When Forsythia sat down and asked, Ryan just shrugged.

"Beats the hell outta me. I ain't no bridge officer."

Forsythia waved giggling back to Serena when she waved at her through the hatch. She then turned back to Ryan narrowing her hazel eyes at him for cussing in front of her. She then suddenly got an idea."I know we could ask Mr.Suma! He normally comes down here to get coffee at this time if he's not busy. But he might be busy though..." she said with a sigh knowing that was probably the truth of the matter. She went to get up to get a cup of tea if they had any.

Aralinna walked into the galley wearing a white engineering jumpsuit and her hair a tad bit dripping wet. The smell of food hit her nose and something decent sounded nice since she normally got the burnt bits down in the brig. She stepped towards the hatch and a girl covered in rose tattoos quickly shied from her quickly apologizing. There were some marines in the galley and they all knew who she was. The Siren possibly the most famous serial killer of their generation but why was she wearing an engineering jumpsuit. She then spotted her... The one hunter that had to use eight law enforcement officers just to cuff her. She went to get a cup of coffee and overly sweetened it and set it before the hunter Scarlett "Hello b***h. Hope you enjoy your meal." she hissed before she grabbed a plate of food and went to sit in the corner to enjoy it

Gavin stepped out of the elevator into the mess hall, nose sniffing at the air immediately, rife with the smell of cooking food. Not cooked food being reheated over an improvised grill or other flame source, but actual food being prepared. The smell was almost heavenly to his stomach, since part of his intentions had been to eat after he left the medical tent. That had been interrupted, and eventually his ability to suppress hunger through concentration gave out, and being hit by the heavenly mix of aromas didn't help in the slightest. Him and likely most of the group had drifted out of the elevator fairly quickly, him standing over near where the lines would form up in a corner, looking around the room. Large, the countertops leading to the kitchen, lots of seats, and everyone showing up, it was the picture of a mess hall. He kind of stuck out in his dusty weather beaten clothes, even if they were in better shape then the cloak they were covered with while he was out. They were in decent shape if visibly patched, especially in the sleeves and long pant legs, but they were serviceable. Not like the patched up look was unique to him, there were several scavengers that had come in to the shuttle bay below with a similar look because they hadn't changed for whatever reason, and some others beyond.

When the woman who seemed to be in charge behind the counters called to them to get the food, he wasn't the least ashamed to be moving right on up there, although how Rose got in front of him was a mystery beyond him, but looking at the amount there, the seven of them couldn't dent it if everyone had four massive helpings, there was a lot of food there. Then again, they had the entire camp to feed, plus everyone else they found out there, at the least, assuming this wasn't also to feed the crew. He grabbed his cutlery and slid right in behind Rose.

"I have got to agree here. This smells great."

Maybe he didn't look ready to drool, but he was certainly hungry. But one thing he'd always insisted on at least was maintaining some basic propriety, including enforcing a few of the more logical laws, like not stealing anyone else's food. And when there was food, just wait for your turn up for it, everyone got a fair share. One small perk of going scavenging, you tended to get food first and slightly more if there wasn't quite enough to fully feed everyone, just because you might go out and strike gold and come back with a lot more. And that little bit of extra calories and energy could make the difference between getting back or not. But even if they hadn't, he wasn't going to just cut Rose off.

Seven foot tall power armored military personnel packing large energy weapons that had demonstrated roughly the damage dealing capabilities of your average missile, a spaceship in orbit over the desolated waste of the only planet they'd ever know, with clear and visible damages in some places, surrounded by people who looked human but apparently weren't? No, nothing that needed to be even slightly intimidated by, not even mentioning the people and how they two groups could react to each other, especially in these enclosed spaces with no way for the new survivors to get away from the people living here. But then, that wasn't what she'd meant and he knew that. She seemed to just be trying to be freindly. She certainly started off on a good note by sliding food his way past Rose after she had hers, clearly realizing that everyone in this line needed it pretty bad.

"Just being honest, thank you for the food! My name is Gavin. I'll make sure to remember your offer about talking, I just might take you up on it some time. What's your name?"

Information and food alike flowed through mess halls, cafeteria's, and hip galleys, so they were a great place to pick up news and information. And, in all honesty, having one friendly person around here, even if it was a facade, was a pleasant idea.

Aralinna finished her meal and stood up taking the empty tray to where it belonged. She picked up her padd and went to leave the mess hall before she decked that hunter b***h she hated so much. She was going to go to the bridge to discuss things with the Captain and about not going back to that damned brig to sleep at night. She went to the lift and hit the first deck button. (G)

Edgar came into the Galley, though he didn't get in line for food. His brother was asleep in their room, assigned to them immediately upon arrival, due to his brother being a child. He took a seat near the back to brood, not passing attention to who was around him.
