"Oh. Okay."
Picking up a rather handily-placed stick, Len offered it to the massive dog.
"Wanna play, Shivali?"
"She's not short," Julian said loyally. "Her spine's just compressed a bit."
Ethan snorted, putting a hand to his mouth and turning away to laugh.
Crow shrugged, looking rather misty-eyed at the thought of her own car.
"As long as I don't hit pedestrians, that counts as driving well. I mean, how much can there possibly be to it?"
"Yes, yes. Good good." Sadako said, hugging Skelly possessively. "Sadako'll get it later for Skelly. Sadako was going to get a finger to give him, but Len found out and told Sadako no. Too bad - it was a nice finger. Skelly would have liked it." Honestly, Lenore could be such a killjoy sometimes.

Len laughed and tossed the stick far out onto the lawn.
"There! Quick, quick, go get it!"
Ethan snorted again, earning him an only slightly embarrassed shove from Julian. He looked rather pleased, though a noticable blush had predictably appeared.
"Just being supportive," He said to Rabid mildly.
"It's gonna be a big one. So if I crash, it won't show as much," Crow rambled, a slightly manic smile on her face. "Maybe with that all-terrain thing, so I could go off road with it..."
After all, no one would complain about her driving if there was no innocent bystanders to crash into, right?
Sadako pointed insolently to Julian, then wavered between him, Crow, and Ethan.
"All of them. Sadako does not like them. They don't like Sadako, so she punishes them. When she couldn't take a finger, Sadako wanted his eye - " she pointed to Julian again, "But Len caught Sadako again. Not fair." She said bitingly.

Shivali turned abruptly and bounded off after the stick. She was supposed to bring it back, right? That'd make them all happy! She leaned down momentarily to grab the stick in her lower mouth, picked her head up too fast, dropped it, picked it up again and ran back. She nearly collided with Ike and the girl, but stopped herself in the nick of time. She recovered quickly and sat, waiting for the girl to take the stick.
"Atta girl," Ike praised his dog happily, "Good girl."
"Yeah, yeah," Rabid snickered, "Noble b*****d. You know I love you."
"Gag me with a spoon."
"Kay."
Oh, so Dako didn't like the rest of her family. Hm. Odd.
"Don't take their anything," Skelly nodded resolutely, "Skelly's family would be displeased. Skelly would never see Sadako again."
...and, in all likleyhood, it was probably true.

At the word feline, Len shivered. Feline meant cat, and cats made her think of Sabriel. Scary things.
"Uuugh. Cats. Chase isn't a cat, though. Chase is a...well, I'm not sure, really." She mumbled. Cats were nasty, evil things. Not the good evil, either. "I don't like cats," she added in a small voice, plunking down next to Malachi.
Ethan blinked in confusion for a second, and decided not to comment.
"Cripe."
Though she wouldn't admit it even under torture, Crow had been rather jealous of what Julian and Rabid had. But now that she had Liam...
"Eh, cars aren't really that fun anyway," she said a bit belatedly. "I liked your motorcycle more."
There was no more need for jealousy, now.
Sadako gave a scandalized squawk and grabbed Skelly hard around the middle again, as though to ward off any more injury.
"Skelly just has to tell her who kicked him, and Sadako will kill them," she said, glaring at everything and everyone in suspicion. At the mention of gifts, she automatically turned flirty again.
"Oooh, Sadako would like that," she said, still clinging to him.

"Serves 'em right," Len said, nodding in approval as she kept scratching. "Wish I could make death threats in other languages. Ethan won't teach me that."
Giggling at Shivali's reaction, Len made a mental note to find out the name of the shelter and spring the animals loose - teach the idiot humans there a lesson that lives weren't disposable.
"Nothing," Ethan said a bit forcefully, and pointed at random towards the lawns, "that I want to discuss here. Just, come with me for a second, please?"
He had to doubt anyone would notice if he disappeared for a few minutes - he was practically a non-entity.
Still looking at Liam as though certain he was about to randomly explode, Crow hesitantly took his hand again.
"Er...you're welcome...?" She said, cocking an eyebrow. Okay, so she hadn't accidentally ruptured any of his organs. Good sign.
