Sophie accidentally killed another one and she flopped onto the ground. Maybe it was time to give up.

She managed to successfully grab one without killing it; but it bit her. She watched her skin carefully, wondering if she would change colour again but it appeared she was still a banana so she plopped the crayon in her pocket.

A preyon scurred past her and as she reached out to grab it, she felt it break in two and heard its squeaking before it disappeared. She would hear those squeaks in her dreams.

As Brenley wrapped his fingers around the preyon, it sank its little waxy teeth into his palm, leaving him momentarily queasy. He shoved the creature into the satchel he had strapped across his chest as he regained his senses, and when he pulled his hand away from the buckle, he noticed it was bright yellow.
"What?" he breathed, looking down at the rest of him. How had it managed to change the color of his clothes?

Another preyon bit her as she grabbed it, but at least it wasn't injured. Stuffing it into her pocket, she carefully maneuvered her way out of the hoard of preyons. She didn't want to kill anymore.

Vanya followed the group of students to the area, directed by the professors. She was a little bored, trudging along and stiffing a yawn. These classes were a little bit stale - she wanted some kind of excitement. As they arrived at the benches and trees; her eyes widened a little and she perked up. Everything was so.. shiny! She pushed her way through the crowd to the front, waiting for instructions. She hadn't decided yet if the decorations would end up on the trees or on herself. Maybe both.
However, she noticed the box and a hand went to her hip, lips pursing. A frowned creased her brow as the box opened and the preyons started running around. This wouldn't do, at all. They would ruin everything. The harpy wasted no time in capturing the preyons, snatching one up as it ran past her. It bit her on the finger and she frowned, tucking it in the folds of her scarf.

It took the ghoul longer than most to realise she had changed colour. She was normally a blue colour and it was only because she spent so many hours staring at herself in the mirror that she noticed in the first place. The change was subtle; her hue growing a little darker than it normally was. It was annoying but at least she didn't end up yellow or brown. She could handle blue; at least she looked good in blue.

She reached out and snatched up another preyon; this one biting her finger like the last. She looked at her skin in horror; wondering what colour she was going to change into. Luckily, it seemed once she was changed she couldn't be changed again and so she stayed blue. The preyon joined its friend in her scarf.

When she caught her last one and it bit her, the ghoul exited the area of chaos, crayons now in her hand. She wasn't in the mood to spend her time being bitten by preyons. The others could do the rest.

Eitri shuffled along with the students, feeling very out of place. He was older, bigger and taller than most of them and it was easy to find him amongst the crowd. Still, he endured the awkwardness of the situation and as the group fanned out in the field, Eitri placed himself at the back to not impede anyone's vision. The decorations, he found, though he was only looking from a distance, were quiet expertly crafted. He gave a small smile; craftsmanship was something the horseman could appreciate.
When the preyons escaped their box, he was one of the last to know; a bit slow to the party and still in a bit of a daze as he inspected the decorations with admiration. However, when one knocked a bauble off and it shattered to the floor, Eitri's daydream too was shattered and he reached out and shook whoever the culprit was. When his head cleared, he realised it was a preyon and he shoved it in his pocket before it could do anymore damage.

Eitri eyed the preyons and as he went to catch one, he stepped on another and it was crushed beneath his feat; squeaking before it disappeared.

The familiar sound of glass breaking was heard and Eitri's head whipped around, arming striking out to grab the preyon. Like the one before, he shook it until it stopped moving and then shoved it in his pocket.

He stomped through the field, looking for preyons in easy to reach locations. It still hadn't occurred to him to get the ones on the ground before he stepped on them; even after he stepped on another.

Another preyon was crushed underneath his feet as the horseman stomped around the preyons, frowning a little. He was probably taking this a little too seriously.

He stomped towards a hoard of preyons, getting them in his sights as he unknowingly crushed their brethren under his feet. Again.
