Alastor stayed in his room for a few hours before getting hungry. He got back up and closed the door to his bed room on his way out. Peeking his head into Lucas' bedroom, his eyes returned to normal. "Are you hungry at all? I'm getting some food." he said softly, he needed to lock the boy's room from the outside anyways.

Lucas looked up surprised when he heard Alastor's voice for the second time that night. Catching sight of the man he was relieved to see him looking normal. "Depends on what's on the menu." Lucas replied.

Alastor shrugged. "Nothing usually is on the menu. Come with me, we'll find some food for us both." he said nonchalantly as he exited the doorway and made his way into the kitchens, glad to see the mess from earlier had been cleaned up. The servants were now in their quarters probably getting some sleep. Alastor began looking through pantries and the fridges he had, of course there were lots of leftovers which seemed suitable for right about now when he didn't feel like cooking.

Lucas followed when it seemed the man wasn't going to go after him. He hesitated outside the kitchen but soon followed. "What is there to eat?" he questioned standing awkwardly in the middle of the kitchen.

Alastor grabbed a plastic bowl with some chicken in it. "try this, it's pretty good. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes." he said, taking out another chicken dish for him but this one had rice and cream of mushroom soup. "You can heat yours up first if you want. That way you can get back to your room faster." Alastor wasn't blind, he knew the boy was avoiding him like the plague, it was a side affect of his short fuse.

Lucas took the bowl he was handed looking it over. "I like mashed potatoes." Lucas smiled softly. "I don't need to go back to my room. I just don't know how to handle you, for one moment your nice and then the next your violent. I don't know when or why you switch." Lucas explained moving to heat up his food.

Alastor glared over at Lucas. "When I'm angry or aroused...our kind have very short fuses. We also have a tendency to scar our mates as way to mark our territories, though we have never killed our mates by accident. They learn, however, to develop 'thicker skin'" he said softly, forcing himself to remain where he was so he wouldn't frighten the boy more.

Lucas nodded when Alastor explained that his other side came about when he was aroused or angry. "So I can avoid one as long as I don't make you angry." Lucas mused looking back to Alastor. "Wheres your mate?" he questioned.

Alastor growled a bit at the memory. "He died....a long time ago." he grumbled, tired of waiting for Lucas to put his dinner in the microwave. Alastor put the plastic bowl of food in the microwave instead and proceeded to wait about five minutes or so for everything to be heated through. "I've had to find a new mate, but it's difficult." he said softly.

Lucas looked quite apologetic when Alastor stated that his mate had died. "I understand that,especially when you switch personalities at the drop of a hat." Lucas nodded watching the man heat his food. When the man had finished heating his food, Lucas popped his into the microwave and heated it. "Are there specific requirements for a mate, I mean I could try and help you. You'll have to be nicer to the person until they get to know you."

Alastor shook his head. "No requirements. My kind has to choose someone and they have to choose him. My kind know that they have chosen them when they choose elope with my kind." he stated, taking his food and placing it on a pot holder before carrying it out of the kitchen. "Hurry up and heat your food. Get to bed as soon as possible. That's not a request." he mentioned in a rather dull tone before he went to his bedroom with his food.

Lucas nodded when the man stated that there were no requirements but that the person had to chose Alastor as well. "Is there something funny about tonight that would make it different?" Lucas questioned as Alastor walked away. He had been trying to understand the man and seemed to have been met with a brick wall.

Alastor looked back at the boy and gave him another glare. "Don't ask stupid questions." he said once more, holding the door open for Lucas when the boy's food was done. "And by the way, I've already chosen a second mate." he said with a little deviant grin.

Lucas backed down from his questioning when he recieved the glare. He didn't know Alastor much at all and definately not well enough to tell if he was making the man angry. He wasn't willing to chance it. He grabbed his food when it was done and walked back out through the door which was held open for him. He stopped however when the man stated that he had chosen a second mate. "Then why am I here?" Lucas questioned. "Go get your mate."

Alastor gave a soft chuckle and bent down next to Lucas' ear. "I already did.." he whispered, placing a hand behind Alastor and guiding him through the doorway so the door wouldn't hit him on the way out as he went ahead toward the boy's bedroom, waiting for Lucas to catch up.
