Zero sighed, absentmindedly thanking her again as he took another cupcake. "Well, yes, but frankly, it would be nice if he was less of a pyromaniac. Seriously, that self-healing fire of his is useful and all, but you would not believe how much trouble he gets in with those pyromaniac tendencies of his... and guess who has to pull his a** out of trouble?" He paused, then smirked. "On a side note, are you sure you two aren't at least interested each other? I can feel him glaring a hole into the back of my head... seriously, mind checking the back of my head for me? He has a tendency to set stuff he glares at on fire by accident."

Katie looked at Icarus in shock before saying, "Well if he is, he hasn't said anything to me. I did mention we just met right? But I will say..." She gave Icarus a look over before looking back to Zero, "I find him attractive and he is nice but can't say anymore without a date." She said eating a cupcake. Though she did get up and walked over to Icarus, "Icarus, what's with the glares? Don't like me getting along with your brother. He does look good." She teased before putting back the cupcakes in her car before locking it.

"No, I don't like you getting along with him," was Icarus's blunt reply. "You're supposed to be my friend, not his.""Which is Icarus-speak for saying he has a crush on you and wants to date you but is too girl-shy to actually ask you out," Zero supplied helpfully from where he'd miraculously appeared alongside them, causing Icarus to glare at him once more. "Don't deny it, Pitty-pat - she's the first girl you've met who's both nice to you and isn't likely to reject you due to your powers anytime soon. On top of that, from what I've seen she is very much your type. Just ask her out already!"

Katie blushed before saying, "H-He doesn't need to do that." She said to Zero. She turned to Icarus, "You are the first guy that I know I could talk to about being a mutant. You are really funny too. And I know you could protect me. So would you go on a date with me?" She asked blushing looking him in the eyes. Her mom told her if she ever asked someone out to keep your eyes on them.

"Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!" Icarus declared excitedly... right before he realized how much of a fool he was making out of himself and tried to edit his answer to be a little calmer. "Uh, I mean, sure, I'd love to."Zero chuckled and patted Icarus on the head. "Don't try to be cool, little bro; you're way too much of a hothead to pull it off."

"Well he is my hothead now. And he could keep me warm." Katie said smiling. She hesitated before hugging him. She sighed happily feeling his natural heat. She looked over to Zero, "Not a word." Katie said blushing. She looked up to Icarus, "So you think you can show me your other form?" She asked curious.

Icarus grinned, though he was blushing a little bit from the hug. "Sure; not here, though - just 'cause nobody's listening in now doesn't mean nobody will be able to see if they happen to come on by.""That and Mom threatened to turn off the water heater for a week if he let anyone mutant-intolerant see that form," Zero piped in.

Katie winced, "That would suck. I hate when my parents do that. I can only ever take a warm shower." She said sighing happily thinking of a nice shower. "So inside the house then? Or will that set off the fire alarms?" She asked.

"Nah, we have a special remote that we can use to turn off the fire alarms when Icarus is home," Zero replied cheerfully. "And if you think a cold shower is bad normally, keep in mind that Icarus here has a higher body temperature than most people... though you probably already knew that if the way you're still cuddling with him is any indication."[/color
Icarus blinked, realizing he was right and that Katie had yet to extract herself from around him, then shrugged and grinned. "Eh, if she wants to cuddle, I'm definitely not complaining."

Katie blushed before saying, "Well my dad was always a cuddler and I like the warmth." She said stepping out of Icarus's arms. "So let's get in your house. i still need to do homework."

Katie put up the hood of her hoodie to start laughing inside of it. She loved the interaction between the two brothers. "Harry Potter is awesome. I got a stuffed Hedwig at home." Katie said to Icarus. "I liked the Expecto Patronus spell." She said. "But I didn't like that Harry didn't go with Hermione." Katie pouted.

Zero sighed. "You misunderstand; it's not that he likes the series itself, though he's a fan of that too - it's that he likes Fawkes, the Order of the Phoenix, all the fire and explosions, and the concept of a secret, hidden community where people don't have to hide what they are. I'll admit I can sympathize with that last one, but his unhealthy obsession with the rest is rather disturbing - especially the obsession with phoenixes.""Hey, don't diss the phoenixes," Icarus shot back, a quick burst of flame covering his form before he changed into his true form. "I'm still going to figure out how to make a phoenix one of these days...""Yes, and when you do, chickens, roosters, and turkeys the world over will thank whatever higher power they worship that the arson being committed against their kind has stopped," was Zero's dry reply. "I told you, that only happened twice, and it was an accident both times! I was trying to summon up my healing fire, not the burning fire!"" Whether it was an accident or not, you still burnt the Thanksgiving turkey," Zero informed him. "Besides, that's probably a good thing - we don't need zombie chickens walking around.""But they'd be useful - if we could keep them loyal to our cause, we'd have spies in the incoming zombie apocalypse!" Icarus argued, putting his school things down. Zero sighed. "Icarus seems convinced that when the world ends, it'll be via zombie apocalypse," he explained to Katie before pausing. "...How the hell did we go from discussing Harry Potter to discussing zombie chicken spies and the end of the world, anyway?"Icarus blinked and tilted his head. "...I have no idea." He shrugged cheerfully, wings flapping a little from the motion. "So anyway, Katie, what do you think? Do I look awesome, or do I look awesome?" he asked, getting back on their previous topic as he motioned to his true form with a grin.

Katie frowned a little, "Ok you probably didn't see the Harry Potter that I saw. People in that community still have to hide who they are. Like the werewolves or any muggleborns during the war." She said to the two. "And I would rather have hippogriffs. They are so badass." Katie said before taking a good look at Icarus's true form. Katie didn't know it but she licked her lips as she took this look. "Icarus, you look great." She said looking away blushing a deep red.

"Well, yeah, but for the most part, the idea of a hidden community where people radically different from the norm can be themselves is tempting, now, isn't it?" Icarus reasoned before grinning slightly. "That aside, I'm glad you like what you see... maybe I should take off my shirt and see your reaction to that?" he teased her.
