Efflo was still shaking his head at the horrible poetry, if you could even call it that, that had made its way from his mouth. He hadn't even known that part of himself existed. Eager to forget it, he made his way to the locks and inserted his key with the rest.

Kettil wandered over and put his key into a slot and glanced at Freya, "Mmm. I think you could do anything you set your mind to, TĂșkut." He beamed at her happily.
If only he had half as much faith in himself.

Proud of his coin-collecting abilities, Thackery marched right out of the door and up to the other door, producing two keys and a very smug expression.
"It's okay. I've got this."
It might have been a little clumsy, but he penetrated those keyholes doubly.

6th floor
To reach the sixth floor, you must have the keys to open the locked door:
The Sixth Floor
A black door with a warped mirror set into its surface.
You step into a maze made of mirrors, all of them displaying a different version of you. As you wander through it, you see yourself from your prior life. The ages and styles vary, a few may even show strange status effects, but one and all you can see that all of them have been you.
Navigate the Maze
Make 4 successful turns!
Roll 1d8 1 - you run into a dead end 2 - you run into a trap, a vicious version of yourself darts out and stabs you, taking one fourth of your full health 3 -a helpful version of yourself shows you a shortcut, you make a successful turn 4 - you break a mirror, slicing yourself bloody and losing one fourth of your full health 5 - an angry version of yourself runs out and begins chasing you, you manage to escape and make a successful turn 6 - you follow a young version of yourself with a poor sense of direction 7 - you fall into a mirror that is not a mirror, but a hidden door, you make a successful turn 8 - an exact version of your current self pulls you into a mirror and replaces you, the mirror is painful to stay in, you eventually escape, but it costs one fourth of your health
When you finally reach the end of the maze, you notice a gargoyle carefully placing them more mirrors down, expanding the structure. Turning to you it smiles brightly, "So what do you think of the new bathroom? He likes to look at himself you know, and I figure, go big or go boom. So mirrored the living hell out of this place, who knows, maybe it'll cheer him up! You certainly look like you've had ah..." it takes in your appearance, "...uh, fun. Or an adventure at least. Maybe I should um...revise a bit." Flustered it hands you a black key, "For your er...beta testing services."
A plain black door.
Writing Prompt:
You step into a giant library, filled top to bottom with neatly organized scrolls and books. A gargoyle bent over a book, quill in hand, glances up at you with mild interest. "Ah, well this is both unique and redundant. You are a story within a story within a story currently surrounded by stories, of which, some may relate or reflect upon your own." Leaning an elbow on its desk, it continues conversationally, "He calls me Darkest Knightsbane, but everyone else simply refers to me as the Librarian. It's accurate, at the very least, though they'll never understand the unintentional reference."
The Librarian sits back and studies you, "It should be obvious what I will require of you, but don't feel rushed. Take your time and try to tell me a decent story, hm?"
The story may be simple or epic, its subject ranging from half-remembered mundane incident to flighty fantasy built on the limitless imagination that can result from a recent stint as a total blank slate. But not matter the story, the Librarian listens patiently, faithfully writing down every word. When you finish, it smiles at you in approval, and hands you a small black key. "Thank you, and good luck."
A pristine white door.
You step into a room of pure white, the only bit of color to be found is the mirror at the center. Looking into it, you don't see anything unusual in it. It's you as you are at this very moment. You step closer and the reflection steps out, still mirroring your expressions and movements.
You are fighting yourself. HP: Your HP at the start of the fight Attack/Heal/Guard/Special: When you perform an action, roll twice the required dice. The first set is yours, the second set belongs to your reflection
Loot (1d4)
[1] [2] [3] [4]
As you deliver the killing blow, your reflection disappears. Looking down you notice your fist within in your own chest. Pulling it out you uncurl your fingers to reveal a white key, sticky with blood.
Another floor, and more doors, and Efflo picked the plainest one, his patience wearing out and not caring for any more trials and tribulations. He didnât really want any more gargoyles either, but he highly doubted he would be so lucky.
He opened the door with little ado, and sighed again when he found himself standing in front of a gargoyle intently studying a book. The entire room was filled with books, and Efflo groaned; so many in one spot books was never a good sign. He didnât particularly think talking with a gargoyle named Darkest Knightsbane was a good sign either but he forced himself to focus on what the stony creature was saying.
A story? Efflo frowned, he hardly considered himself a storyteller, and to be honest he couldnât think of any stories to tell. He could talk about something he supposed, and hope it turned into a story decent enough for the gargoyle.
âWell,â he began, but his voice sounded stupid in his ears, quiet and hesitant. He didnât know how to begin or what to say. âIâve always kind of been on my own, itâs just kind of how it is and I never really minded it, well I mean, I guess I did, itâs not nice to be alone but itâs hard to make friends too. And I donât really know how it happened, but there was a fight somewhere, against shadow creatures but of course somehow I found myself fighting with someone who should have been my ally⊠But he was just so arrogant and annoying! A big idiot⊠And Thackery was there, Thackery who doesnât remember me and I donât know why he doesnât remember me but maybe he doesnât remember Gabriel either and Iâm too afraid to ask⊠But because of him, I kissed that big idiot and then he became my big idiot and it was the first time in my life that I had ever even wanted someone to be my big idiot. Or to be my anything really. I know I probably sound like some love-struck filly, but when it comes to Gabriel, I canât help it. Weâre not perfect, and we make mistakes but he loves me and he is the only person who has ever loved me.â
He paused for a moment, his voice catching in his throat. He couldnât look at the Librarian anymore, and held his head lowered in his hands.
âBut then I woke up here, and I forgot him. I forgot the person I love. Or is it loved? I donât even know if he exists, or if heâs just something from my imagination, maybe Iâm so alone I just thought him up so at least someone would love me, even if they were pretend.â
Efflo shook his head, that wasnât right and he knew it.
âNo,â he corrected himself, âGabriel is real, I know he is. He has to be. Heâs out there somewhere, waiting for me to get back and thatâs why Iâm still here, that's why taking my heart didnât kill me because that wasnât my heart, he has my heart and he always will. I just, I have to do this, I have to get home⊠I have to I have to, I have to. I donât know how to be sad and alone anymore. I hate it.â
He looked up then, blinking back the tears that had begun to well up in his eyes. He stared at the gargoyle. It had a strange choked expression on its face, like it didnât know whether to console him or laugh at him. Effloâs eyes narrowed, and with an angry sniffle he wiped his arm across his face and stalked over to the stupid gargoyle, snatching the black key from its grasp. He didnât need a stupid gargoyle to validate how he felt, he loved Gabriel and he was going to find him.

Story. THis one wanted a story?
Remi had paused the briefest of moments holding Thackery once more before moving on to the next task at had. He moved towards one door, hoping not to have something mean on the other side...
Peeking in, he calmed as he realized what it was. A library. Who would have thought he would willingly enter one?
Let alone suddenly be a story teller.
"Okay. Once upon a time there was a Pony." He paused there.... hmm. "He had green hair. Yes, green hair. You see the pony was VERY grumpy. So grumpy he sometimes changed colors! Like a Chameleon! Anyways... the Pony would always grump about his name But if he would just accept his name was cutie mc flufferbuttoms the third, everyone would be SO happy!"
He paused again.
"....Thats the end of the story. They are still trying to convince him. Sooo stubborn."
Apparently his story was good enough, because he received a key. Maybe it was just to get him out of the library, hrm.

Kettil moved along and eventually went through the door with the interesting warped mirror after he waved briefly at Freya with a big grin. He had this.
At least until he found a young version of himself that didn't seem to know which way was up...

There was suddenly an angry version of Kettil popping up and screaming at him about something or another. He sort of widened his eyes as he turned and ran like hell. This dude was a complete maniac!
Either way he seemed to make a successful turn about from his time of being lost earlier...

He leaned against a mirror that he thought was a mirror, just for a quick breath of air.
..He ended up falling through it. Oops. Yay hidden doors!

Stairs were starting to get really tiring. Suddenly, Freya was thankful for all that stretching she'd been forced to do earlier..
When she entered the next floor, she squeezed Kettil's hand before walking into a new door and immediately being assaulted with the sight of a library. So many books.. she wasn't going to be made to sit there and read, was she?
Darkest Knightbane, the Librarian. Freya almost smiled at the name. She sat down, and thought - but almost instantly, she remembered a little story that her mother had told her, long ago. She had shared it with Kettil, once. She was all too happy to share it, now.
"Well! Once upon a times there was a little boy who lived in the forest, in a little cabin with his mother and father. They were so deep in the forest that they never met or saw anybody else, but they were happy! And the little boy had many friends, in the forest. The trees and the squirrels and the birds were all his friends, though none of them ever talked like he did.
One day, he went out into the forest and he saw the most beautiful flower he'd ever seen before in his life! It was tall - taller than him! Later, his parents would tell him it was called a sunflower - but for now, he just called it his best friend.
"I loves yeh, flower!" He told the flower every day, when he would come to visit it. He would pet it's petals and hug it's stem. But each day he had to leave it, and his heart broke with sadness. So one day, he had an idea! He cut the flower, and took it home. Oh, he was so happy! He would never have to be apart from his flower again!
He put the flower in a vase filled with water and he just stared at it with glee all day. He would talk to it, and give it fresh water, but as they days passed, the flower began to wilt. "What's wrongs with my flower?" The boy asked his mother. "Yeh cuts it from where it was growings," She told him. "Eventually it is goings teh die."
The boy couldn't handle this. He became sadder, and sadder, until one day he realized the petals had all fallen off of his beautiful flower, and it sagged down. He was so distraught, that he ran away, deep into the forest, to cry.
When his mother came into the room she saw that dead flower on the bedstand. So disgusted with it, she threw it away. So when the boy returned home and saw the dead flower on the floor, he picked it up and brought it back inside. "HOW COULD YEH DOES THIS, MAMA!" He screamed at her. "Why does it matter, boy?" She told him. "It's just a dead flower."
He took his precious flower, and buried it on the mound where he'd found her growing, that first day. And he sat there, on the mound, and cried; mourning his loss, and watering it with his tears.
Many weeks later, the boy finally had the courage to go and visit his flowers grave again. But to his delight, there was a new flower growing where the old one had been buried! He rushed over and hugged his new flower. "I loves yeh, flower." He whispered. "I'm sorry I ever cuts yeh and tries teh keeps yeh from the sun. I promise I'll never hurt yeh again." He kissed the flower on the petals, and rubbed his face against it.
A strange, tingling sensation overcame to boy. When he pulled away, he realized his flower was glowing! It moved and it grew, until a darling little human girl with sunflower yellow hair and a pretty green dress appeared in its wake. "Oh, you've saved me!" The flower cried. "I've been under a wicked witch's spell, but your kiss and your love broke it! Thank you!"
She hugged him, and he returned the hug, promising to take care of her and keep her always. But a thought occurred to him, and he pulled away, looking at the little girl.
"So you mean.. that flower I cut and died.." He was horrified. Had he accidentally killed her and made her rebirth?!
"Oh, no," She laughed, shaking her head. "That was just a flower."

IT'S A TRAP! Kettil found himself caught up while someone that looked like him gave him a nice stab to the side. He let out a grunt of pain, "******** GET BACK HERE," and then it ran off. He growled.
