Momo looked up and laughed, "we're saved!" he shook his head and set back to work, "We could also use it to carry water in a pinch or even cook, amazing! helmets are the best!" he looked back up at Hal, "you wear it first. i want to see how it looks."

Hal grinned, walking out. 'Oh. You don't want the honor of trying on the helmet? How unfortunate. Alas, I shall take the honor." and he placed it on his head, falling down and back. At least it covered his ears. "Does this bring out my eyes, Monoki?" he asked, tilting his head towards the ginger but before he could playfully bat his eyelashes it fell over them. And he laughed.

Momo laughed until his sides hurt and tears leeked from his eyes. his arms were around his stomach, trying to hold in the laughter as he struggled to get himself under control. "ooh gods above!" he managed to gasp, "that was beautiful. don't short out your circuits with that thing on your head, you hear me?"

The limbering dog creature's tail was wagging quickly, unsure what all the commotion was about but he gave a bark, which sounded like a mix between a roar and a bark, and that caused Hal to laugh harder, leaning on the doorframe before sliding down, gasping for air. "Oh, oh yes it is quite beautiful on me isn't it?" he said before unsuccessfully stifling his laughter. "But, I have found a pot, sir." And took it off, grinning and still chuckling before taking it off his head and putting it on Momo's. "Ah, look at that it brings out yours. Such long flowing locks. perhaps it's a crown for the princess."

"A pretty poor princess," Momo laughed, shaking his head, "but at least she shall never be without means to cook her meals!" he took the pot off and looked it over, "still serviceable, quite the find. well done, Hal." he wiped the tears from his eyes and put the pot down, "maybe we can warm up some water for those tea leaves we brought with us." he'd insisted on bringing the tea, in case they ever had a chance to enjoy it, and they had on a few occasions.

Hal grinned, finishing his chuckling and nodding. "That would be nice. Today will be a day for relaxation and a soothing cup of tea should help. I'll go look in the bedrooms to see what else we can scrounge up for supplies. Here are some water bottles to help you make some tea with. Is there anything else you'll need?"

"Just a kiss for luck!" he teased as he took the bottles and tea leaves. "have fun searching, Hal." he waved as he head to where the fireplace was, breaking up some more furniture for fuel. he put water on to boil and went through his pack for their cups to brew the tea in, humming softly to himself. he was in a good mood since they didn't have to do any walking today.

Hal waved back before heading down the hall to the bedrooms, touching and knocking on the wall gently. Everything seemed sturdy, heat sensors showed no living life, this was good. Really, it was good luck, and it would give his systems time to figure out what on earth was running without permission. If he had to do another shut down and reboot tonight he'd have to somehow bring up that they trek all the way back home to see what was going on. It was a risk they'd have to take. Of course neither one had counted on Hal malfunctioning, with his memory bases and battery core he could last well into the old age of Monoki's grandchildren. But he wasn't exactly malfunctioning, just a few simple errors. Oh, perhaps he did need a new filter. They hadn't changed it at all. Perhaps the toxins were leaking out. That was a simple solution. He opened the door to the first bedroom, studying how empty it was and quietly walking in. Like the living room, the furniture in here had all been obliterated, scraps laying here and there, some clothes on the floor. The closet was opened, the insides empty but what appeared to be posters taped to the inside. Interesting. He pulled some of the boxes from the top shelf, opening them up. Letters, art supplies, notes. None of this was particularly useful so he closed them back up and walked around to the dresser. he stopped mid-step however, on the floor on the side of the bed, a body wrapped up. It gave off no heat. Sadness lined the android's features before walking out quietly. "Monoki," he said softy, "Monoki I'll be needing a shovel."

Momo was about to pour the hot water into the cups when he heard Hal. "what? why would you need the shovel?" he put the pot to the side, not worried about any burn marks it would leave and stood. "do you think there is something in the yard?" he walked to where he'd heard Hals voice from, but the somber way he'd arranged his face made Momo stop. "Hal," he whispered, "what did you find?"

Hal walked up to Monoki, looking down sadly and almost guiltily. "There's... a dead body... We need to give them a proper burial, sir. if we don't have a shovel, I can use my hands. It will be a shallow grave, but a grave nonetheless." he looked at his hands, bending the digits and already calculating how to dig a grave with them. "I... do not believe it right, sir, to leave a body unburied."

Momo flet ice travel down his spine. a dead body. he'd slept in a house with a dead body. again. he took a deep breath and stepped away, "we have that collapsible shovel. i'll go get it." he needed to get away, to get out of the house. what had felt secure and safe now felt oppressive. the walls were closing in and he needed to get out. to get some air. he stumbled to his pack and pulled out the shovel, hurrying outside to unfold it. as soon as he left the house, he took a deep breath, not caring that there were toxins in the air and the sun was bearing down on him. he relished being outside. he took the shovel and searched for a good place, away from the water, that had soil that could easily be dug, but also was sturdy enough to not collapse while they were digging. he found a spot on the side of the house and started to dig, needing to put his mind off the dead person that they had shared the night with

There was that look. That indescribable, human look Monoki gave. Fear, shock, maybe even sadness. "Momo," hal started, but the human turned away, grabbing what he needed before jogging out of the house. The android stood, looking at the large dog-thing before walking back to the bedrooms. Maybe he should have stayed silent. It would have been best for Momo not to know, right? "Hello,' he spoke softly to the body, untangling it from the blankets. What caught his attention was a large hole in his forehead. "i'm sorry, but let me inspect you." he tilted the head, finding a smaller hole in the back. He had been shot from behind, and judging by the size of the hole, it had been a high caliber. "I'm sorry. This was cruel of someone to do." Luckily the body was worn and decomposed from the elements, but it was horrifying. It was mummy-like, the body. Hal just shook his head and threw the blanket of the bed, fixing it before carrying the body onto it. Male, it seemed, young. Still in puberty. "What a cruel place. I am sorry this happened." The blanket was carefully and tightly wrapped around the body until it was covered from head to foot. And with that he walked outside, spotting the maned wolf digging as well, trying to help best he could. "I'm ready when you are." Hal called, not wanting to get closer while holding the dead being.

"Yeah," Momo was about waiste deep now, it wasn't deep enough, not yet. animals would come dig the body out, depending on how old it was. he shivered a little and forced that thought out of his mind. "a few more feet." he kept digging, letting the dog 'help' while Hal stood off to the side with the-the blanket. finally it was shoulder deep and Momo climbed out, the dog following. "ready," he said softly, stepping away from the grave and looking down. "just-just hurry, ok? let's put them to rest and go."

"No worries." The android moved froward, gently and slowly climbing down before resting the covered body in the center of the hole. Up on the ground, the maned wolf's ears raised up, turning its head and listening to something unseen in the distance. "I'm coming out." Hal moved back up, brushing the dirt off his exposed limbs before taking the shovel. "Go back inside, Monoki. I'll do the rest. Take Cujo with you." and started shoveling dirt inside the hole.

Momo nodded, "ok, yeah, i'll just-" he turned away, heading for the door before he stopped and looked at Hal curiously. "Cujo?" there was only one thing he could mean and Momo looked at the dog, "you mean him?" Hal had named it? that was something he hadn't expected, why would an android name an animal?
