Never Again...After several intense moments in which it was unclear what Herald would do in his sleep, his eyes snapped open and then widened in surprise when he realized what he was doing. He let go of Emma instantly and sat up, his expression still one of surprise. It quickly turned to one of regret. "Emma....I'm sorry I didn't..... I should have told you...." Again it was a first for Herald as he had never apologized to anyone in his life for anything. But this was different; he had hurt someone he cared about even though he hadn't intended to. And he may have done worse if he hadn't woken up. He shook his head and put one hand on his sweaty forehead. "It was...." he stopped, not wanting to talk about his dream, then looked back over at her, not being able to find any more words to apologize with. Will I be bound in chains

Emma watched Herald quietly before moving so she was in front of him. She got up and wrapped her arms around him before lowering his head so he was leaning against her "It's alright." she told Herald calmly as she hugged him. She didn't exactly know why she was showing so much kindness towards Herald. Maybe it was because she could relate to him in a lot of ways. For the time being she just wanted to be there for him since she had no one really to look to when she had nightmares.

Never Again...Herald was silent for a moment before he sat up, taking Emma onto his lap so that they were facing each other. He really didn't want to explain what had happened to her, but it was probably obvious anyway. And he thought she deserved an explanation even if she already knew. "I have dreams....nightmares about the arenas sometimes....often. Usually. I wake up sometimes and my sheets are torn or the pillow. It slipped my mind. It's not something I think about but now that we're.....I'm not sure how to stop it."Will I be bound in chains

Emma stared up at Herald as he explained his situation "I have had the same issue... I still have it occasionally. What I do to try and not have those dreams is to try and think of good things before I sleep... but also talking or something like that about those events is good too..." she suggested "I liked to write those events down a lot and then burn them. That seemed to help..." she offered.

Never Again...Herald listened to Emma silently. He put his arms around her back and looked down at her. "You don't have to help me with this," he told her. "It's not your problem. I can make a separate bed and you won't have to worry about sleeping at night...."Will I be bound in chains

Emma flicked his forehead "No." she said. She gave him a serious look for a few moments before smiling "I want to help you. You were nice enough to let me stay here and I have had the same issue but no one was there when I was struggling the most with it. So with that, I want to be there for you." she told him.

Emma raised an eyebrow at him "It will benefit me by knowing that I was able to help you instead of sleeping in another room while you were dealing with nightmares." she told him. "Also... being there is what friends do, right?"

Never Again...Herald listened to Emma silently, not knowing what to say in response. After a moment, he lay backwards onto the bed, his hands slipping down to Emma's waist as he looked back up at the ceiling. He didn't understand why she wanted to stay here, despite what he had created for her. She knew what he was like and what he had done. How he had almost killed one of their own teammates in exchange for his own body. How Atticus had almost died at his hands and was now a slave to Scarlet somewhere. He looked up at her from where he lay as she sat on his lap facing him, his hands still on her hips. "Is that what you truly want?" He asked her sincerely. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again...Herald smiled as Emma leaned forward and rested on his chest. "Me too." He said after a moment. No longer being able to contain himself, he pulled her up to his level and kissed her gently on the lips, surprising even himself. Will I be bound in chains

Emma smiled back at Herald before suddenly going into slight shock when he moved her and then kissed her on the lips. Her whole body quickly grew warm as it happened. After a few moments she pulled back and looked at him with a slightly surprised expression.

Never Again...Herald looked right back at her with his own surprised expression. "I...I'm sorry," he said quickly, completely unsure what to say or how to explain what he just did. "I don't know why I..." he trailed off as he looked back at her, expecting a slap to come any time now. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again...Herald embraced Emma's kiss this time, pulling her up to his level and keeping his hands on her waist. Now that he knew she wanted it as well, he allowed himself to become passionate, enjoying the kiss to its fullest. Will I be bound in chains
