The goblin was beginning to annoy him. They had practically won the battle already and this foul creature was the only thing standing in their way. What made it worse was he missed his last attack toward it. The Goblin managed to get in a counter attack and give Ezarix a stinging cut, but he'd had enough.
He regained his posture and readied his spear, this time with the sharp end away from the goblin. With a scowl on his face he thrust the blunt end of his spear into the back of the goblin's head.
Action: Blunt Bust the Goblin in the head.

Azlok
Your vicious taunt draws the attention of the goblin and forces his attention upon you alone. As dwarves and goblins share a deep animosity towards each other, this one particularly becomes enraged and lashes out for you.
Azlok receives a minor EXP boost for performing an in character selfless act.
Litaria
You attempt to strike the goblin again!
1. Critical Failure...
Your exhaustion has apparently gotten the better of you, as you stumble forward and trip over a fallen soldier's body. The impact of the ground causes minor damage.
Litaria is now Injured.
Ezarix
You try to bash the goblin leader in the back of its head.
11. Success!
Your attack lands firmly on the base of its neck, forcing it to the ground sharply! It throws up a feeble defense in response but is having difficulty recovering!

A tactical mind was always a strong mind. The Dwarf made well with distracting the goblin giving Ezarix the perfect idea. Instead of direct attacks he was going to go for a much more tactical advantage. He used the reach of his spear, and swiped at the goblin's feet in an attempt to trip it.
Action: Trip the Goblin Leader.

Azlok laughed heartily as the goblin bit the dirt. "Eh Beast! How do it taste? Your proper place 'at is!" he shouted. He had to keep the goblin focused on him. The rest of the team was doing what it could, but they were only so powerful, only so resilient. He stepped towards the beast a few steps. "Maybe I should make it easier for yeh tah reach meh, clumsy!" he added, laughing heartily again as he taunted the beast.

Litaria groaned as she pushed herself up, barely mustering the energy to get herself into a kneeling position. More than just her pride was injured--her front hurt where she'd hit the ground. Clearly she was not cut out to be a soldier. In frustration at how helpless she was without her magic, she flung her knife down at the not-quite-yet recovered goblin, then got into spellcasting position as best as she could while still on the ground. If her knife combined with Azlok and Ezarix's efforts wasn't enough, she still had enough power left in her for one more spell. If that became necessary, she hoped that one of them would be kind enough to carry her to safety afterwards.
Action: Throw the dagger at the goblin leader.

((Great job so far guys, I apologize I can't respond faster, but I'm on a trip at the moment and have limited internet access.))
Ezarix
You attempt to pin the goblin to the ground!
11. Success!
You manage to trip the recovering beast and pinned him to the ground. He is now Snared.
Azlok
You maintain your focus on drawing the goblin leader's attention! During this time, however, you notice the goblin tears its strange necklace off. The beast's trinket begins to glow brightly and a blast of magical energy careens towards you! You try to avoid the magical assault!
2. Failure...
Try as you might, the orb of searing energy slams hard into your chest, sending you flying backwards and burying itself in your torso, sending waves of electric pain throughout your being.
Azlok is now Injured.
Litaria
You throw your blade at the goblin leader!
12! Success!
Despite your weakened state and awkward position, the knife hits its mark, planting itself firmly in its neck. It grasps at its throat and yanks the protruding weapon before tossing it to the side. It flails erratically as it tries to escape, but with Ezarix's spear, it is rooted in place!

Azlok rolls to the side, but to no avail as he is slammed backwards by the glowing beads, driven into his chest. He grits his teeth, holding back a shout at the electrifying pain. "Hrolfnir!" he shouted, calling upon his lord's healing powers, wishing the pain to stop.
Action: Cast Cure Light Wounds on himself.

"Azlok!" Litaria screamed, all thoughts of casting a final spell vanishing as the cleric flew backwards, the orb of magic buried in his chest. Without thinking, she somehow staggered to her feet and stumbled around the goblin leader to where Azlok lay. She dropped down by his side and reached out, grabbing the orb and trying to pull it from his chest. For a moment she wondered if she succeeded whether the orb would attack her instead, before deciding that it was irrelevant. She was almost completely useless now anyway for this fight.
Action: Pull the orb out from Azlok
((I hope I didn't completely misinterpret the scene.... sweatdrop ))

With the Goblin more prone to attack and less liable to counter it was time to make another attempt on it's life. "This ends here you foul creature!" Ezarix let out a battle cry and thrust his spear down at the beast.
Action: Attack the Goblin!

((Think of the orb attack, and most spells for that matter, like a snowball. It flies towards the target, splatters then dissipates. Unless I state that it has a lingering effect, such as poison, paralysis etc. then it is a one-time shot. I'll hold off on rolling for your move, Kestrad.))
Azlok
You cast Cure Light Wounds on yourself! Result: 5/6! Your prayers to Hrolfnir are answered as healing magic flows through you. The power within you surges as your wounds close and the pain leaves your body!
Azlok is now Uninjured.

Ezarix
You leap high in the air and prepare to land a deathblow on the goblin leader!
(Challenge Rating: 5) Results: 7! Success!
You soar downwards with staggering force and your spear buries itself deep into the heart of the prone goblin warlord where it writhes for a few moments wracked with pain before it finally gives way and lies very still.
Azlok, Litaria and Ezarix gain a large amount of experience! Azlok levels up!
With both the ettin and the goblin warlord lying dead, the remaining invaders flee en masse, having been demoralized and robbed of their temporary mutual hatred and fear of their leaders. With a communal cheer from all of the surviving soldiers, Captain Belgrath yells out:
"Victory! We have victory!"

Azlok inhaled as the warmth overtook him and revitalized his body. "Ah, Litaria. Ahm not yet to pass from this land, fear not lass," he replied, also warmed in his heart by how much she cared about him. Even though they just met, he could already feel the budding relationship, friendly or just companions was yet to be seen. "And you! Elf! Wonderful spear work, mah friend," he shouted to Ezarix. He began to slowly raise himself from the ground he had been knocked to.

Ezarix felt a tinge of pride and surprise as the Goblin lay dead below him. He pulled the spear from the beast's heart and wiped the blood back onto it's side.
The Dwarf began to praise him for his skills with a spear. "It was actually easier than I thought it was after the futile attempts of attacking it earlier. I think the Ettin was more of a feat to be praised on, and that goes to our Mage here." It was true that if not for her spell, Ezarix would have had trouble getting off the giant in one piece.
"You can call me Ezarix next time. Elf is too general a term, Dwarf" He ended with a smirk.

Standing in the shadows a hooded man looking over the field. The nose of oppertunity smiles, no wait. The nose of oppertunity had truly lead him on the right path. Drin was a lone man and a wanderer. His choice of work often forced not to settle down or stay in the same crowd but these men could prove good allies.
The position he had chosen was a fully visual one, where he could see and be seen. It was chosen with care and tactic on his side. The hooded cloak coevred his upper face from view and the cloak his back and sides. To join this packed group there would be sme carefully treading. No petty thefts on their hide. Obviosuly this group seemed as a walking that was the criteria Drin was looking for.

Azlok laughed heartily. "Fair 'nuff," he replied to Ezarix. He couldn't believe all that had happened. "We shood probably speak to the keptin," he added, thinking a little more logically as the endorphins of winning started to wear off.
