Acriculeth - Escaping, post 1/2

As soon as the woman was secure Acriculeth grasped Kesisk in his forepaws (lifting her was no inconsiderable effort) and flared out his wings with a snarl to the Trine defenders who might dare to stand in his way. His rider was being taken home and he was going to him, the rest of his allies had been given time enough to decide they wished to catch a ride with him. he called to Kesin and Kesisk. Normally he wouldn't be one to imply that he was anything less than perfect but today was hardly an ordinary day.

Zarth. Zarth had saved his rider's life. He felt peculiar under his rage and fear for his bonded, he felt... grateful. Really truly grateful. It wasn't something he could ever remember feeling before and he wasn't entirely sure what to do about it.

V'ail - Dodging V'ell
3+ 1 = 4 Dodge - 12 damage total
6/25 Hp

Knife, dodge, failage. That... he bit his lip, wobbly on his legs as he fought to keep standing. Oww, sharding, his twin was going to have his hide. He found his feet, legs shifted to keep his stance. "You get your weyrmate out of here." He thought that was what she called the other woman. "I'll get my fainted clutch brother out of here and we all end up happy," he rasped out.

Lanterneth ran out of her hiding space, a wobby red blurr as she raced up and hunkered in front of her bond partner, hunched and hissing, eyes whirling in anger and exhaustion. She demanded, her usually dainty voice hard and determined.

Tatath & Canoake Escaping: All Aboard!

The green had the stranger who was theirs and she called to her rider. Once Acriculeth moved away, she landed briefly. Hissing and snapping her tail, she did her best to keep back the enemy.

Canoake looked to where Anali was fighting and cursed. She wanted nothing more than to pay back those who had struck at her allies. But if she stayed to fight, she might get captured. Pointless really. Snorting, she headed towards her dragon and waved her good arm. "We can take at least one, maybe a wher as well! To me and Tatath!" She moved and went to Rilli to assist her up on Tatath. "Just hold tight to her and don't let go." They didn't have much time, hopefully someone would move quickly to their side.

V'ell and Zarth - Leaving

V'ell's lip curled, and for a moment it seemed as though she was going to lunge and lash out at V'ail again. She could defeat the weyrling. She was sure of it. Even bleeding and wounded and with her weyrmate in critical condition, she could take V'ail down before he could retaliate.

But Zarth shrilled a warning in her head. We need to go, V'ell. Before backup arrives! And with a dismissive snort, the greenrider turned on her heel and mounted up. Zarth carefully carried A'nos cradled in her foreclaws, and warbled reassurance to Acriculeth; while V'ell had no space in her heart for kindness towards bronzeriders, Zarth carried no such prejudices.

"D'ei? We good to go?" V'ell paused halfway up Zarth's neck to look back at her weyrmate, still eyeing V'ail challengingly in case the weyrling decided to change his mind. He'd made a wise decision. Hopefully he'd follow through with it.

Harmony mounting Acriculeth

"Wait for me!" As she saw the bronze flare his wings Harmony sprinted over and scrambled up beside her fellow handler. Once certain that she wasn't going to fall off when he took off or betweened she beamed over at Kesin. "We're going home!" They were really going to escape! She had been sure that her'd see her end out in that miserable cadge.

Acriculeth - escaping 2/2

The bronze paused for a moment at the cry, allowing the second woman to scramble up and grabbing hold of her bondmate in his free forepaw as the bronze bounded over. With two metallic whers to carry he was as burdened as he was prepared to be, bunched his muscles and flung himself into the air with a great downgust of air from his wings. Gaining height as he watched for the attacks of Trine dragons was a struggle but soon enough he had enough height and promptly disappeared between to safety with his passenger in tow.

V'ail and Lanterneth
- Rolling bandages

It was one of those days that he was actually glad his sibling as a paranoid worry wort and loaded him with bandages before rushing off. It was sort of nice having a twin who was a healer. V'ail moved slowly towards R'an, Lanterneth keeping by his side.

V'ail shifted, settling down and poked R'an with his fingers. "You awake?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 29, 2013 8:26 pm

Syriacuth growled at Lanterneth and V'ail as they approached. He would protect his rider no matter what. But seeing the bandages, he searched through his human's mind, finding what they were and carefully let V'ail through. He would let them only get so close. If R'an was hurt anymore, it wouldn't matter that Lan was his clutch sister. He would attack her with a fury.

R'an stayed motionless on his side beneath Syriacuth's spread wings. The blue had been able to pull him out of the fray but had left a trail of blood from several of the open wounds on the male's stomach, sides and back. His more minor wounds on his arms had already started to close up, but R'an was soon becoming pale with bloodloss.

The blue dragon continued to growl at V'ail but let him just alittle closer to that he might help his rider. His eyes swirled with worry and pain and he struggled to keep his bleeding wing high as if to cover R'an's body from sight. 'Tell him not to hurt R'an.' He spoke to Lanterneth. 'If he does, he'll be in trouble!' He growled out as he took a possessive step over R'an shielding the bleeding boy with his body as well as he could.

D'lek Attempting to Escape on Tennath 2/2

D’lek wrapped weary arms around Tennath’s neck ridges, grateful for the physical contact with his bonded and muttered mentally, Let’s get out of here. He had had his fill of the tropical sun; at the beginning of this mission he had imagined that it would be nice to see Southern again, to feel the warm humid air against his skin, but now nothing seemed more welcoming than the cool mountain air of Benden.

Tennath lept to the skies, avoiding the Trine dragons as best he could to get his out safely—that was all that mattered at this point. To get D’lek safely back, to avoid injury of him and his.

D’lek had had much time to contemplate this revolution, to think of what he had done—what they had set out to do. He didn’t know if it was guilt, thirst, hunger, or the sun, but he had felt nauseous as he thought of what the shortage of firestone might cause. Now, as air rushed around him and the comforting feeling that he was right where he belonged astride Tennath, he was able to realize that everything seemed wrong. The scene of ichor splashing to the waves, of people, whers, and dragons fighting was wrong, and it struck him to the very center of his being.

He learned more about himself and of his beliefs in that moment than he had since joining this sharding revolution, and as Tennath blinked between, both were equally grateful to leave the dreadful sights and memories behind them.

As the prisoners of Benden raced to get to dragons it seemed that their escape would be cut off by the sheer number of Trine dragons filling the air. The tides turned abruptly however as a full wing of wherhold dragons appeared with roars and bellows that seemed to shake the earth itself.

Agile greens and blues dived as straight and swift as arrows to gather up the last of the captives while browns, a couple of crimsons and a sleek silver engaged with Trine's forces in the sky. The clash was bloody, accurate and above all swift. Less than a minute after the wing appeared it was gone again, taking all of the remaining wherholders along with it in the blink of an eye.

Trine was left to lick it wounds, but could at least take comfort in the knowledge that even as the wherholders fled with their rescued comrades explosives were being laid in the depths of Benden. The clash was not a victory for Trine but nor was it a defeat; had served to draw away some of the wherhold's forces, increasing the chances that Trine's own rescue mission would go according to plan.
