He was weaving in and out of consciousness, but he had managed to catch some of Stormy's words, mostly the anger and bitterness behind it, and he only closed his eyes, wishing this whole mission was just a nightmare. A nightmare they could all wake up from.

"Lo siento... lo siento mucho..." he mumbled softly, tears forming. There was nothing he could do, nothing he could say. Even offering his life wasn't enough to make up for the pain he had caused the mist trainee. Why had he even asked her to come? Why was he so stupid?

By the time their true rescue party came, Jake had long passed out, or else he would have been extremely grateful towards Mark... and might have respected him a bit more than Caelius. Maybe.

The waiting had been the worst part. By far. Once she'd run out of bandages, Sherry...really didn't know what to do with herself. She couldn't help them, not really. There wasn't even a way to drag them to a hospital. She was just about useless. She did her best not to wallow in her self pity and actually offer what little assistance or comfort the other two would take.

By the time help arrived, Sherry was numb. Rather numb.

She wasted no effort in making sure the other two made it to that portal, and she was very grateful to have it spit them out right in front of the infirmary.

Stormy was delirious by the time the portal opened, and Thane's only aid was to give her dark words and the image of wings shielding her form the heat, and a bone cold light that seemed to strike at her heart but did nothing to make her stop sweating. She was absolutely quiet as Mark gave his apology, as Jake gave his, and as Sherry ushered them to the infirmary.

Stormy had lost her voice with her anger, and a little more as well.
