Woman Seeks Gift It seemed like there had been more to Riro than even she had known – and perhaps even more than Takeru himself had truly known at this point. It wasn't honestly surprising. Disgraceful as that comparison was at the first glance, Riro was much like an onion. The top layers were a little boring, but if you kept peeling and seeking out what was hiding behind the facade, there was some really good stuff hiding below the surface. It had not taken long at all for her to notice that her gift had not been the only one. Seemingly all of them had shown up with objects they hadn't been seen with before – save Ichiro, but the wolf seemed all too amused by something he did not speak about. Those objects had likely been prepared a long time before this day, given the scope of the undertaking. Knowing Riro, each package had a letter and was put together in a similar fashion as her own gift had been. And now there seemed to be a few swords missing from her mate's massive collection. Or perhaps distributed would be a better term for it ? It hadn't occurred to her that these were oniwanjin weapons he had collected over the centuries until she had seen Haruki with his new sword, and learned from him that it had been his grandmother's. It certainly made sense to make sure no one stumbled on these weapons unknowingly of the potential they contained, and it had the bonus effect of keeping them out of Izayoi's hands. As to how everything had ended up here, well, Nuhava was quite certain that there was probably a certain cat to blame... He would want his son happy, after all. Nuhava also knew that the whole process had been rough on her mate – physically and mentally both. She could certainly relate with the latter, even though she had yet to live though the former. Finding herself alone in your own mind had been hard for her at first, and Strength expected it was no less so for Takeru. They had started at odds with each other, but time and her influence had brought the two close enough that this could happen as it should. Losing Riro's voice was no less to Takeru than losing a friend, much like how, in losing Graff's voice, she had lost her champion. Then there was the physical aspect of the change. Those horns gave him neck pains even now, his tail was getting caught up anywhere it possibly could, and having his room child proofed, so to speak, clearly had her mate a little irritated. And then there was that arm, which did not seem to be healing at all and was going to be a severe pain in the a** to deal with. Nuhava had little choice but to wrap up his shoulder every morning if he planned to head out. He could have simply gone shirtless, probably, but Strength could tell that the constant questions were bothering him. It had gotten the goddess thinking about what she could do to lift her mate's spirits some – or at least a kind gesture, a gift to match the one he had given her. It hadn't taken too long to think of it. She had sat back with Takeru this morning, watching the rest of them train, the sound of the swords clashing with each other, and the idea had come to mind immediately. Riro had gathered up everyone else's weapons. So, it seemed fitting that she give him her own. She had thought of her own swords, but dismissed the idea. They were not quite like the ones Riro and even Takeru used now, and she quite preferred her gifts to be more than simple decorative bauble. She wanted to give him something he could use, if there was a need. Something he could hold on to and remember all the love she felt for him, even though even Strength herself did not understand the true depts of that love – it seemed bottomless, infinite, in a way she had never felt or considered before. And, it was silly, but those swords were the last things she had of herself as she once was, of a young man who came from nothing and fought his way to glory. They were her own reminders, if things even got rough enough to affect her, that no matter what, her first champion in this life would always be with her. So, now she was wandering the market, an idea lurking in the back of her mind. The sword she would give him would be her sword – or at least as close to it as she could get, which was a blade commissioned especially for this purpose. It would require the fox brat's help to fulfill it as she wanted, and it would not be a powerful artifact or anything of the sort, but she had an eye for quality, and knew roughly what she had to look for. And she could always bother someone else – like her sister – if she held any doubt on the quality of the final product. When Nuhava reached the forge, she simply settled to watch for a bit. Haruki had to have gotten his training sword from somewhere... Strength watched a moment, and finally caught sight of what she looked for – a row of slender blades resting against a stand to the far right. Aha.Getting there was a bit of a process, as she had to weave herself around the various stands while making sure not to accidentally knock anything off the table, but she managed nicely enough. ”Good morning, sir.”The sword maker looked from his work then, regarding her a moment. He had been busy wrapping up an hilt in leather. “Is there anything I can do to help you ?” ”Actually, yes. I would be interested in one of your swords. Well, to be more accurate, I was interested in a custom piece.” The man was certainly giving her a strange glance. Sometimes still looking so normal had it's advantages, as she fully planned to test him. If he tried to take advantage of her being somewhat clueless, then he would get a good slamming back in place for his troubles. If he did well, then he could say that there was a god who owned one of his swords – which was certainly an amazing selling point. She had noticed many of them seemed to flock to the place they visited. “A custom ? That'll cost you a fair bit, I have to warn you. I do not usually do custom work.” ”I can make it worth your while.” Strength smiled. ”But only if I am pleased in the end product, of course. It is meant as a gift for someone very important to me.” The man seemed amused, his lips quirking upward to mimic her's. “Well, you certainly seem sure of yourself. I'll hear it, for sure.” Nuhava then talked of the details she wanted – most particularly the engraving – and also spoke of what she knew Takeru favored. She had observed him often, be it in training or in actual battle in Azeroth. His style was similar to Riro's, but at the same time, there were a few key differences that she had noticed. She also wanted a weapon that could, hopefully, withstand his force as he came into his own more. “Hmm.” The sword maker pondered. “That sounds like a challenge in itself.” The man was playing hard to get, but Nuhava could tell he was interested – his body language was betraying him. “Still, I can't work for free.” ”Understandably.” Strength agreed, and looked though her bag, pulling out one of the large gems Takeru had given her once for barter. Hey, he had never specificed what she could barter it for ! ”I realize this is not quite your domain, but you should fetch a nice trade with this.”“Indeed I would.” He knew this stone, it was one the jewelworkers and user of the arcanes alike particularly fancied, a kind of extremely pure crystal “Tell you what, I think we have a deal, lady. This might take me a few weeks to get it done to your exact specifications, however.” ”Time is not an issue, as long as the end result is as I want. Do as I asked, and I believe you will find it worth your while.” Strength dropped a gold pouch onto his table. ”Downpayment, so to speak.”The man certainly seemed puzzled as to how a woman like her had so much to spend, but Strength was gone before he had the opportunity to ask.

Delivering The Murals She had planned to go see how her gift was shaping up today, once she had a chance to slip out undetected. She had told the man he could take what time he needed – she hadn't said that she wouldn't come oversee the process for herself, after all. Strength was equal parts antsy and curious about the process.
But today seemed to be a bad day for Takeru, and so he had asked her a favor she would have been hard-pressed to refuse him. The murals had been finished right before that day where Riro shoved, and had started the process that could no longer be stopped. Takeru had planned to go deliver them and talk to Xun today, but it had been easy to tell that his horns were still giving him neck pains. So he had asked her to at least get the former done, and so that was what Strength had set up to do instead. The two murals had been rolled up into cardboard tubes to protect them – she knew from having seen her mate work of them that they were very thin, fragile paper – and she carried those two long rolls under one arm as she went down the hallway and knocked on Ti Lung's door.It was Lindita who got the door for the goddess, and she led her to where her lord was. Currently Xun Jiang was busying himself with very, very important matters – babysitting. It was honestly as much to help the dragons in the sanctums than to his own well-being. Negotiations with the alliance and the horde were going better than they first expected them to go, but it did not mean that the dragon king was not sometimes driven to wanting to bash his head against the nearest wall. So this was some downtime for the dragons of Northrend, and stress relief for him.
He had been teasing one of the younger whelps into trying to fly, much like he had once done for Rei's children, when he noticed Strength coming toward him. He had not seen much of either her or her brother ever since they had returned from Azeroth, but then again it was not like he had been around much, either. “Good morning.” He greeted her.”Hey there.” She smirked as she saw the pack of brightly colored whelps. “So which one of yours decided to multiply this time ?” First there had been Rei, and it had been a little hard to ignore the fact that Sunil had followed suit, given how Xun Jiang had ousted the fact for them all. It had certainly been necessary, given how much of a mess Dragonblight had turned out to be.Strength's question earned her a low, amused chuckle. “No one, at least not as far as I know.” And it would have been a little hard for them not to know, to be honest. “These are the eggs that we found in Northrend. I steal a few of the whelps every now and then to help them out.” The little red was still trying to jump to get his bit of fish, and he was still wriggling it right out of the little one's reach. With just a little bit of effort, he could get it.”You are so mean to them. You should be ashamed of yourself, you overgrown reptile.” Oh, she knew perfectly what he was doing, and Strength could even guess why he was doing it, but that certainly did not stop her from poking fun at the dragon king. She crouched down when some of the whelps approached her, as if wondering just what strange thing she actually was. They were honestly kind of cute, to be honest.”Speak for yourself.” He snorted. Taejhin must have one hell of a ride with her as the closest motherly figure he'd had for a long, long time. Strength took no prisoners and Xun Jiang did not expect it was any different for her family.
“I assume you didn't come only to fawn over some whelps I may or may not have been in possession of ?” At least that was certainly what it looked like, given what she was carrying. And that question had Strength snorting in amusement. “You wound me, truly.” The her lips pulled up into an amused smile. “But I have to admit that you are right. I did not simply decide to come bother you simply because I could.” Now that was an idea...
But for now, she had something to do. “These are the murals Riro were paining for you. He finished them a few days ago, but...” She figured the only real way to break it was the obvious way. “But then they changed. Takeru's having some troubles, but he said he would come see you once he feels a little better. He wanted you to have these as soon as possible, though, so he asked me to give them to you.”Well, that was not the news he expected, and the dragon king was a bit conflicted. On one hand, he would miss Riro, but then he knew exactly where the man was now. He was also rejoiced, and a bit relieved at the same time. From what he had learned of his own experiences and the others', they seemed much more likely to fail when still confined to their gems in some way, so this was a good sign, and hopefully a sign that history would not repeat itself again. Dealing with not knowing where they were had been hard, but Xun Jiang was not certain if he could stand to lose Takeru or Shen, now that they both were so close to him.
“I see.” He finally said. “The first few days are a bit rough, but he will get used to it.” He didn't even question if Takeru had grown body parts or not. It was obvious to him at he had, otherwise his brother would be standing here with Strength, of this he was certain. “I hope he is behaving, though.” It was his turn to grin.”Oh, he knows he has to, or I will kick his a**.” Strength matched the dragon king's grin. Of course she would. “He is behaving, though. We had to child proof his room and it pissed him off.” She laughed then, the sound light and amused. “Still better than him wrecking everything in sight, I assume. Don't worry, if he doesn't behave right, I will be happy to kick his a** for you.””Good.” Xun snorted. He did not doubt a word of what Strength was telling him. She would take care of Takeru as he recovered, even if she took care of his brother in her own way. Now that he was assured that his brother was well, however, he had to admit he was curious about what he had done for him. “I plan to have them set up in the bedroom, so it is probably best to keep them rolled up until we get them there.” They had to cross the waterfall, and the cardboard would keep them protected. He could have someone without claws put it up for him later. “Would you mind helping me get them there, then we can have a look ?”
Xun Jiang really had little in term of places he honestly did not share, so he thought little of inviting the goddess in his bedroom. And thankfully enough, Nuhava thought little of it either. If the dragon king asked her to, then he most likely was fine with it. “I don't mind.” So he left him to lead the way back though the endless expanse of greenery, around the lake and across the vast area that made up Ti Lung's rooms. The rooms themselves seemed more like little houses, each with their own privacy and ecosystem to fit it's occupants. When they headed toward the waterfall, she understood why Ti Lung had asked what he had. A few drops of water were likely to damage the paintings as they passed it, and the cardboard rolls would keep that from happening.
They slipped behind the waterfall and came inside the room. It was rather lovely, she had to admit. It was less of a room and more like a cave, with the lake spliing though and lapping at the edges of the floor. “That's very lovely, I have to admit.””Yes, isn't it ?” The dragon was obviously proud of his work here. He gestured for Nuhava to pull out the paper and spread it out toward the back. There was no risk that the water could make it's way up there. “I will have Aysu put them up later, but I admit I am curious as to how they look like.””Hang on to your scales, you overgrown reptile.” She snorted, and Xun's amusement was obvious. He knew what she said right now was in jest. She pulled the murals out carefully, like Takeru had taught her, and laid them out. They were both quite gorgeous, and she had thoughtfully enjoyed watching Riro working on them. It had been relaxing for her, and it had been relaxing for him, too. She had seen just how much he had enjoyed doing this, and Nuhava certainly hoped Takeru would continue doing it, when he had the time. And the dragon was in awe of what he actually saw. Those were really masterpieces... Each of them more gorgeous than he could ever have asked for. The first was an underwater scene with koi swimming freely, each one more colorful than the last. And the second was a sunset scene overlooking the sea, both of them painted carefully. “Oh...””They're lovely, aren’t they ?” Strength grinned. “He worked on the two of them whenever he could squeeze out some time to do so.” Which had become harder and harder as time passed, and as more additions to the household happened. “I really hopes he keeps at it.” She was honestly just as much in awe as the dragon king was. She had never really been too talented as far as anything artistic went, at least from what she remembered of either life, so that something so lovely could be created with paper and ink was something amazing, for her. That it was the man she loved so much who could do such magic was a nice little bonus, too.”Yes, they most certainly are. I will have Aysu put them up for me later.” He was much too worried that his claws would piece the fragile paper. Thankfully he had someone who could deal with it easily. “Thank you for bringing them to me.””It's no problem.” Nuhava nodded. It was obvious that Xun Jiang loved them, and she would tell Takeru this much when she returned. The brothers would see each other soon enough, at least as soon as her mate could stand long enough to make it happen.
“That done, I should likely leave you to bother your whelps before they rampage all over the place.” She said, quite amused. They had simply left them out in the open with their snacks, but it didn't look like there was anything they could get into. And if Xun Jiang wasn't worried about it, then she saw no reason to truly be.
“I am sure Takeru will come see you as soon as he is able to do so. He has questions for you.” She would not ask them on her mate's behalf, as there were probably things he pondered that he had not voiced out loud to her. “Hopefully we will catch each other again soon.””I hope so as well.” He would have loved for her to stay for tea, but it seemed like Strength had other things to do. “Feel free to drop by whenever you would like. If I am not present, someone will know where I am.”

Swords and Curious Fox "Should you really be up and about doing this, Haruki, or should I call Croix to sit on you right now ?"
This was a trap, of course. By challenging Haruki, she would get him to react in the way she wanted to. By teasing him that she was up to something, he would to exactly what she wanted him to do – that is, come with her and be a pest. Or at least think he was being a pest, while in truth, this was exactly what Nuhava intended to happen. She knew the brat much too well, after all."Psh." The kitsune snorted. "It's not like im an invalid or something. Beside, I feel fine." That much was true. He felt a lot better than he used to feel, and he certainly could not complain against that.
And the fox had, indeed, neatly stepped in and gotten a paw caught in the trap. “Beside, you're up to something and I want to know what it is. You're been going to the market back and forth a little to much.” Sometimes multiple times a day. This was highly suspicious. On that point, Nuhava couldn't blame Haruki. It was a lovely day outside, and it would have been a shame to have stayed cooped up for it. At least they had some sort of 'outside' inside, though she knew it wasn't quite the same thing at all. Try as one might, the hustle bustle of the marketplace could not - and well, probably shouldn't, for what was left of their collective sanity - be replicated.
“Well, maybe I must happened to need a guard kitsune anyway. To protect me from the big bad scary market.” She smiled a smile that was a little too sweet..”Rawr.” Yes, he was clearly a big, bad, scary guard kitsune. “But no, seriously, what the hell are you up to ? You have that same little a*****e smile Graff had when he was plotting something, you know.””I'll take that as a compliment.” Nuhava let out an amused snort, then stopped only long enough to tap Haruki on the nose. “Patience, brat. You'll figure out soon enough.”
And then she was moving again before he could reach out to swat her back. She navigated the market carefully, careful not to accidentally collide with anyone, or anything. Once they reached the center, she started to head toward the forge. Haruki was bound to find this curious, and so she would keep the fox firmly on her leash. And, indeed, the fox was certainly hooked. Haruki was determined to figuring this out. The forge ? Well, the heat was nice, but what would Nuhava be seeking out here ? She didn't use any weapons, and she didn't wear metal armor. So... What ? He was starting to get the good sense that asking wouldn't get him anywhere, so he simply followed the goddess. Strength continued on her way, making the turns around the forge until she had made her way toward the table she had been looking for. “Did you get to finish as you told me yesterday ?” He had mentioned being nearly done and that today he should be when she had dropped by the day before.“Actually, I have.” The man nodded, turning to fetch the sword. “I do believe it will be up to your specifications.” ”We will be the judges on that.” She had asked for some very specific things, after all. She had little idea what made a good sword, but if what she had read about his clan was right, the little brat who had followed her this far should have some knowledge of how a good sword was made from the echoes.”Wait, what ?” Haruki snorted, as he started to realize he'd been more or less set up. “And why the hell did you have a sword made ? You don't even use the two you have.””Stop yapping. Im sure you'll get the idea soon enough.” She took the hilt and the sheath when the man handed it to her. It certainly felt rather heavy like she had asked, which certainly started things on a good note. The goddess pulled to reveal the blade itself, and had to resist the urge to smile. Right now, she didn't want to reveal anything. But oh, so far she was pleased.
The blade itself was a deep silver, but near the hilt was the engraving of a roaring lion, the engraving highlighted in brown. Surrounding the lion were cherry blossoms, likewise outlined in a deep pink. The floating petals continued until the middle of the blade, each one tiny and yet none of them blocked out in color – it was always the engraving itself that was colored. Nuhava had to be honest – the detailing had come out even better than she expected it to be. On that aspect, Strength was more than pleased.
She turned the blade over carefully, and the other side also had the engraved blossoms and petals, though instead of the lion, there were words there. “Did that come out right ?” She eyed Haruki.”Daaaaaaaaamn.” Engraving like this wasn't easy to pull off at all. Not that his clan did much of that. There were individuals that were more talented than the others, though making weapons pretty generally was not his clan's forte. Still, he was more than a little impressed.
When she turned the blade over and he saw the oniwanjin words engraved there, Haruki snorted. He was starting to catch onto what the goddess was up to, indeed. “Yeah, that'd be about right, if terribly sappy. Who the hell told you that ?””Ichiro, who else ?” She hadn't told him why she wanted to know the oniwanjin sentence, of course. The wolf had probably simply thought she'd been curious, and she had asked about other words as well to disguise her intent. Atlantean would probably have been the best bet, to be honest, but given how her sister's remembrance of the language was still shaky, this had been, sadly, out of her scope for the time being. Perhaps it could be added to the sheath later, in some way.
Well, the appearance of the blade was exactly as Strength had asked it done, but that would be kind of moot if the rest of it wasn't right. To that aim, she handed the sword over to Haruki. “How's the rest of it ?””I see why im here now.” The kitsune snorted, but took the sword as it was handed to him. “Hn. It's pretty heavy. But that'll probably be the best bet, yeah.” It was obvious once he had seen the words – that sword was not meant for her, no. It was meant for his brother. An heavier blade would probably suit him better later. It would need some very strong steel to withstand the power a god could put behind the strikes, most likely.
He backed a bit and pulled it out fully, making a few test swings once he was certain he wouldn't hit anything. “The weight's balanced right. Obviously no visual defects. I think that'll work out nicely for him, yeah.”And that was what she had wanted to know. She nodded, and turned to the weaponsmith again. “Yes, that will do nicely. I admit the engraving came out even better than I thought it would. I am quite impressed.” She fished the promised gem out of her bag and handed it over, ask well with a bit extra. Perhaps one day he would see his sword with her mate and understand what had happened, though for now she would not spoil the surprise. She was, however, likely to recommend him if there was a need.“It was a pleasure to work for you, lady. I haven’t been challenged like this in a long time.” It had actually felt pretty good to work this hard. “Feel free to come back wherever you like.” ”I will keep that in mind.” Nuhava paused, eying the swords on display. “Though, I will take this one as well.” It was a much simpler blade, but it would do for her purpose. She paid for that as well, and started to head toward the forge, Haruki still hot on her heels.”That's a very nice idea you had. Im sure he'll love it.” Though Takeru would probably have loved anything that had came from her, it was obvious that Nuhava had put a lot of thought into it.”I certainly hope so, though im not done yet.” She smiled that little smile again. “It's a solid blade as it is, or so you say... But I think we can improve on this, can we ?””I believe that by 'we', you mean 'me'.” Yes, it was obvious now that he had been completely and utterly set up. Damn ! “How did you even know I could do anything like that ?””I can read, and I know where to find the books I need.” Oh, poor darling. At least there had been a lot worse she could have asked of him. “Well, can you do it ?””I should be able to.” Especially now that the limiters were out of the way. He was less likely to stumble midway into the process. He had never really tried, but the knowledge was there, buried deep in his mind from his grandmother's echo. “I should probably try it on another sword first.”Nuhava simply held out the other sword she had picked out on the way out, her smile turning into a grin. “Well ? Get to it, brat.””I swear, you're damned impossible.” Haruki snorted, but took the sword anyway. Nuhava really had planned everything. If only for that reason, he didn't want to let her down now.
“You guys might wanna step back a bit.” He warned the others. “This is gonna get hot as hell.” When they listened, he took his nine-tailed form, and fed his own flames to the forge. Another reason why he had told them all to back off – the fire kind of got out everywhere, but thankfully the floor was made especially to put them out before they could spread.
When things seemed hot enough, he held out the sword in the hot furnace. Once the metal started to shimmer and go red, he added yet more fire on top of that. That sword should have been too hot for anyone to hold bare-handed, but he certainly had no problem with it. He held it out there for a few minute, counting down carefully, and then he took it out and dunked it immediately in the water. It hissed and spat, heating to boiling point thanks to the foxfire, but then it settled down. When he pulled the sword out, it still had quite a bit of shimmer, and it was a bit lighter in color than it had been before. It wouldn't be as resistant as a sword that had been outright forged by a kitsune, no, but it would be a great deal stronger.
Which gave him an idea of his own, but it would probably be a bit before it could be seen to it's fulfilment – and would require a matching blade. “Looks like I got it. Do you mind if I keep this one ?””Sure, go ahead.” Nuhava actually had no idea what he planned to do with it. She assumed that since it was the first one he'd made, that Haruki would keep it as a trophy of some sort. And there was nothing wrong with that at all. “Think you can do it again ? We can come back tomorrow if that works better.” She didn't want to wipe Haruki out, and well, as long as Takeru didn't know the blade existed, he couldn't be impatient to see it, now could he ?”No, I think i'll be fine.” He put the first sword aside and then took Takeru's from Nuhava, and repeated the process another time. It went on just the same, and he let go of his form once he pulled it out of the water. The sword had also lightened as bit, but the ink in the engraving had darkened slightly. “Guess the ink burned a bit.”Once it was safe to do so, Strength came closer to look. She didn't fancy being burned, not at all. “Hn. It doesn't look too bad, honestly.” Had he not mentioned it, she might have not noticed at all. The brown in particular was a bit darker, but the pink had been dark enough that it had barely changed, other than bringing out some red highlights in the ink, which actually looked pretty good, as far as she was concerned. The words were already black, so there was no difference there.
“Good work, brat.” She ruffeled his hair playfully, ignoring his growling. “I'll get you something to eat for your troubles. Deal ?””I guess.” He rolled his eyes, but he didn't really mean it. To be honest, he would have done a lot more than this, both for Nuhava and his brother.
