Danny pushed the stabbed slaver off of her and scrambled back to her feet, searching around in the corpses until she found a knife of her own. Then she took up a defensive position behind the tree Manga was resting against, making sure no one snuck up on her friend.
Manga appeared unable to move from the tree, but occasionally the soft twang of her crossbow sounded and a slaver wordlessly dropped with a bolt in his neck.
Ca joined her mate, hooves smashing into the slavers that got past Paimon. Even her fighting seemed to have a rhythm to it--although the music was a symphony of screams and snaps instead of hoof taps.

Paimon, Ca, and Sebastian quickly dispatched all of the slavers that were in the immediate area. Sebastian wiped his blades on his tan trousers as he walked over to Manga and her friend."Are you okay?" He asked, concern etched on his bloodstained face as he bent down to check her for injuries. "What happened?"
Paimon grinned and pranced over to his mate, nuzzling her neck happily, though still keeping a wary eye out around the small group. "You truly are the music my heart sings, Ca Thu Thi." He whispered only to her.

Manga gave him a weak smile. "You're late," she informed him. Danny sighed and rolled her eyes, scratching her short hair. "You can drop the tough act now, Da--er, Manga." The Skh'et turned to the man that apparently knew Manga. "She's sleep deprived, bleeding from new and previous injuries, and is suffering from some kind of paralysis poison." The informant sighed. "You talk to much, Danny... go do what you do best." Rolling her eyes, Danny walked off to go scavenge things from the corpses. After all, they weren't using the stuff anymore.
Ca Thu Thi smiled, happily nuzzling Paimon back. She didn't say anything, but her love was clear. Her gaze went to Sebastian and Manga. "... She's happy."
Manga winced as Sebastian's hand met a nasty slice in her side, a new injury that had connected with a healing one. "Careful," she mumbled, clearly struggling with even talking at this point. She managed to slide her crossbow into its holster at her hip before letting her arm go limp. "I had a... vial of anti-toxin, but it... fell out of my fingers..." It was probably broken. She shouldn't have been foolish enough to try and pull it out of its compartment in her coat after her fingers went numb.

Sebastian grunted, masking his face to his inner emotions as he gingerly reached his arms under Manga's back and legs, lifting her carefully. "Foolish woman..." He grunted under his breath as he took her to Paimon and set her on his saddle, using a rope to tie her in so she wouldn't fall off. "What does the vile look like? I'll see if I can find it." He said, patting Paimon's neck.
She likes you, My Bond. Paimon said wordlessly to his Bonded as he stood near Ca, keeping careful to watch her in case she didn't like being around the human.
Sebastian looked at Paimon before shaking his head and helping the other scavenge.

Manga smiled a little more. "Not foolish. Subject to... unforeseen circumstances..." She sighed as he asked about the vial. "Glass... about the size of your index finger. It might be... broken already..." After Sebastian went to help Danny, her gaze went to the mare that had fought. "I must look really pathetic right now."
Ca inspected the woman curiously. Pathetic? This woman had taken down almost as many slavers as they had, and for at least part of that time was paralyzed. How could she appear pathetic? She slowly stretched her head over, gently clamping her teeth around the woman's wrist. She snorted at she let go, perplexed. This human female was... very strange. The mare couldn't describe it...
Danny glanced over at the man as he began assisting her. "... Hey... does she usually act this reckless now?" Turning back to the corpse she was searching, she continued. "The Artist I knew was... well, careful."

Sebastian looked at Danny cautiously. "I don't know... I only just met her recently and don't know much about her. She doesn't really give out information." He answered as he found a vile that matched Manga's description and took it to her. "This?" he asked, holding it up to her so she could see.
Paimon looked at his mate. "Whats wrong?" he asked, noticing her strange reaction after she bit the female.

Danny glanced back at Manga and shrugged. "At least your information's not outdated like mine... I haven't seen her since we were kids in the Lands Below. Well, I was a kid. She was almost a teenager." She smiled as Manga gave a weary thumbs-up to Sebastian's question. "I can't say I'm surprised about the not-giving-out information part. We were all like that... Ah, I'm rambling. I gotta stop now. Regain composure..."
Ca shook her head, staring at the half-conscious informant with an odd look. "... Strange." The impression she got from this human was unlike anything she'd come across before...

Sebastian just watched Danny curiously before going up to Manga, unstoppering the vial and holding it up to her lips so she could drink it. "Your friend over there is interesting to say the least." He commented.
Paimon tilted his head. "We'll talk more when we get home then?" He suggested.

Manga drank the fluid and then let herself slump forward again. "Most cross-dressing ex-lockpick musicians are," she murmured, unable to keep a weak grin from slipping onto her face. "I heard that! I'm gonna get you for this later, merchant girl. Just you wait!" Grumbling, Danny shuffled around, putting stuff into a bag as she searched. Finally she let out a whoop of joy and scooped up a violin case. "Yes! It's still in one piece! ... Bah, someone messed with the tuning..." She sighed and walked over to the other two.
Ca Thu Thi nodded, eying the two-legger with... rabbit ears? When the creature finally noticed her stare, it laughed. "Never seen a Skh'et before?"

Sebastian eyed Manga confusedly. "Cross-dressing?" he asked, looking over at Danny once more, only seeing a young man.
Paimon stepped in between Ca and the Skh'et. "She hasn't been around many two-leggers at all. She was raised in the south." He said in warning.

Manga just smiled. "I'm not the only one that's good at my job." Danny snickered, both at Sebastian's confusion and Paimon's protectiveness. "Noted. I've been down below most of my life, so I haven't been around too many Azrien." She bowed the best she could with what she was holding. "Danielle Knight, at your service. Daniel Knight in public."
Ca rolled her eyes and lightly tugged at her mate's mane. She didn't need to be babysat. This earned a chuckle out of Manga--which in turn drew a gape from Danny. "You just laughed. I think that's the first time I've ever heard you laugh!" Manga just let that weak smile hang on her face. "Is it now...?" Danny's expression changed again as she inspected the informant. "Hey... are you ok?" "Tired... blood loss..."

Paimon stuck his tongue out at his mate as Sebastian sighed and ran a hand through his red hair. "Pleased to meet you, Danielle, wish it could have been under better circumstances. But I think we need to get Manga to Aila as fast as we can." He suggested, nodding at Paimon to being walking towards Aila's
Danny nodded. "Right." She didn't know who Aila was, but she assumed it was someone who could help Manga. She walked beside the horses, not having too much trouble keeping up.
They kept a swift but steady pace, hurrying so they could get Manga help, but not hurrying too badly that they would hurt Manga. "So how do you two know each other again?" Seb asked
"Well..." Danny trailed off, glancing at her half-conscious friend. "... It's a long story. One that's best said behind closed doors."

Sebastian nodded. They entered Aila's lands easily enough, and as they got closer he stopped, took Manga off of Paimon's back, thanked both him and Ca for their help, and headed towards Aila's house.
Maddie tugged at her sister's sleeve. "See, sissa? He did get her back." She said
Aila opened the door, and took Manga from Sebastian's arms, laying her on the cot by the fire. "What happened?" She asked.

"Manga!" Emmie hurried over, but stopped when she saw the state the woman was is. She gasped, putting her little hands over her mouth.
Danny smiled at the girl, putting a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright. She's gonna be fine." She straightened, her gaze fixing on... a rather stunning woman. The Skh'et shook herself out of her daze to answer Aila's question. "Slavers brought her in. I, uh, think me being there messed up her plans... Talks devolved into an all-out brawl."
"You exaggerate too much, Danny. It wasn't that bad..." She experimentally moved fingers as she regained feeling in them. "Paralysis toxin, Gert's variation... The anti-toxin's in my system, but I won't be moving for a while... " She took a deep breath, taking inventory of her injuries. "Most injuries were done to my right side, but the worst is a... double gash on the left... Minor injury to hands and calves. One stab wound to the right shoulder. No injuries to the back." The story could wait until later. This was the information that Aila would need right now.

Aila nodded, instantly taking control. "Sebastian I need hot water and rags, Emmie, Maddie, can you girls please go outside for a bit, see to the azrein or something, Maera and Charli will watch you. And you.." She looked at the stranger, not sure what to call her. "Go to the indigo male called Damir and get a couple of his tail hairs for me." She said, turning back to the table and grabbing her kit.
Maddie grabbed her sister's hand and obeyed Miss Aila.
Sebastian nodded and went over to the fire, set a bowl of water in it, and grabbed some rags from an upper cabinet.
