"Your doubts are well-founded," Joker said, sounding almost serious, "I can easily block you. Oh, how I can block you. I'll block you until your children are wrinkled and gassy."

Doctor Gray looked up at him and grinned slightly. "Well... that certainly isn't going to help any of us." she said, then glanced back down and tapped her finger onto the side of her clip board.
"I'm not quite sure how to get ahold of your current Doctor... so I won't be able to help arrange a sit-down between you and Janet today. But... would allowing you to talk to her outside her cell for a few minutes suffice for now?" she asked, looking back up at him.
====================================
"Well," the Goddess began. "I suppose that amount of time won't be unnerving for some of the people here." she said. Though, she still didn't seem to like the genre the two men had named off.
"I can see about it, but you'll have to wait until you both get an okay from your doctors." the guard replied. "Standard stuff. Doctors gotta give the okay that you're not gonna bash anyone over the head with 'em or anything. Take us a day or two to get you guys anything anyway."
=============================================
"So..." Doctor Mattis began carefully. "Vandal was harassing you and your children... to the point where you no longer felt safe staying where you lived. You tried to get CJ to leave, but he wouldn't. And when you seen the men again, you felt you had no other choice but to flee the area. And when you felt safe enough, you tried to get into contact with the man, but he was gone as well."
Misty sniffled again, leaning against Dundee for a bit of comfort, and nodded.
"But...you had no intention of hurting the man's feelings or anything. Correct?" Stevens asked.
"No... of course not. I love him. I wouldn't do anything to try and hurt him. I just... I panicked. I wanted him to be able to do the work he loved, and I wanted him to be safe." she said, then sighed heavily and wiped her eyes. "But... guh.... he lost his job? You all did?"

Dundee nodded solemnly. "We all lost 'em. I think Bruno, Leona and the animal tamers are still there. They all say hello." he said with a sigh. It was around this year that the train would be in . . . no, Gotham was next week . . . it was coming up though. He kept in touch with Leona and Bruno. They had another kid shortly after the gang got fired. The news that her "boys" got canned was so shocking she went into labor.
Dundee hugged Misty.
"C.J.'s a good man, Misty. However, his work was for a good cause." he said with a twang. He was careful to not mention any more about the engagement ring or C.J.'s plans. His words echoed in the Lantern's mind.
"Mark my words, boys! Pretty soon, Misty Gallay's gonna be Misty Benoit!"
Meanwhile, C.J. and Arell smiled understandingly.
"I reckon we kin use de time t' work on songs. Thanks! Whatcha think, Ceej? Mo' Beatles?" Arell asked.
C.J. smirked. "Yeah, Beatles work." he mentioned.

"I suppose," Joker replied, sounding upset, though inside he was dancing; everything was going perfectly. He stood up, and said, "So, anything else you need to add to the chains for this?" He raised his hands as much as the chains would allow to emphasize his question.

"I know..." Misty replied softly. "He was trying to help provide for the twins and I."
"That..." Stevens began... then pulled out a small voice recorder from his pocket. "...and he was saving up for something else. There was a woman who came in that looked just like you, and he mistook her for you. (We'll get into that later...) But... he vented a little bit to her. Explaining how he felt, what he had planned on doing.. He let quite a bit out." he said, then looked down at the tape. "I'm not sure how much should be revealed... not with the two of you so distraught over this right now. But... I do believe sharing some of the information would help clear things up for both of you."
Then he sat the small machine down on the table. "I'll let you decide if you want to hear the tape or not. But... it seems as though he was focused on working because he had been saving up to purchase a wedding ring for you. And when you left with no word... he felt blindsided. That you had led him on and then just left him. Regardless... he went after Vandal Savage once he heard that the man had went after you again. He was determined to make the world a little safer for you and your children."
===============================
The guard nodded, then waved a little to motion that he was going to go back to his post to... well stand guard. Leaving the two men to talk amongst themselves again.
==============================
"There probably is...I'll have to see with the guard what the protocol would be to let you stand in the hall for a bit." she said, then started for the door to fetch him. "Though... if you tell a little more about why you had such a strong reaction to seeing her earlier... I might be able to let you swing with just the cuffs." she added, walking to the door.

"I can vouch for the ring . . . well, now that the cat's out of the bag, I'd say he went as far as almost breaking his back for it." Dundee said, smirking somewhat. He didn't want to say much else beyond that. C.J. DID swear him into secrecy about the ring. Arell, too . . . had a picture of the ring he wanted to give her in his nightstand.
Down below, Arell and C.J. were still working out songs. The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Dave Dudley, The Ramones, BB King and a few others came out and around. Just bouncing ideas off each others heads, hoping they could get some things going, the boys waving at the guard as he went past.
"Whatcha think, che'? Wanna do some Reverend Horton Heat?" Arell asked as C.J. smiled.
"Sure! If you can still play the solos. What about Led Zeppelin?" C.J. asked . . . mainly 'cause the writer (that's me!) is on a HUGE Zep kick . . . NRBQ as well, but that's another story.
"Can ya sing 'em?" Arell asked as C.J. shrugged.
"Maybe!" he said as the duo laughed.

"And spoil the plot of the story?" Joker asked, incredulous. "If that's what it takes, you can swing on these." At which time he gabbed his crotch area.

”Just an offer.” Doctor Gray replied as she reached the door. She hadn't been looking at Joker when he had made the little motion that accompanied his reply... but it wasn't hard to guess what he had meant by it. She had to remind herself that he'd be back in his cell soon enough to keep from rolling her eyes as she opened the door. She wasn't sure how Joker's psychiatrist dealt with him, but he clearly had different methods of dealing with patients than she did. Or the patience of a saint.
After speaking to the guard, two men came in and walked up to the Joker. One of the men took a few loops from the chain attached to Joker's wrist and ankle cuffs and added a lock to it. This shortened the length of the chain, giving him less range of motion. He would still be able to walk easily enough, as well as move his arms a bit, but he'd have a hell of a time trying anything harmful to anyone.
The other guard added a few more short chains to Joker's cuffs. A few helped do double up the chains... making them harder to break or move, and the other two hung from the cuffs. When the guards took their positions to either side of Joker, it was clear that the last two chains were meant to act as a 'leash' of sorts. A means to help keep him from lashing out or getting away from the guards.
”Alright. Ready to go?” the woman asked.

Misty looked between Dundee and the doctor with a puzzled expression. Then it shifted to shock as what they had said sank in. ”That's... THAT'S why he always wanted to work so much? Why he wouldn't even think about leaving the Circus when I asked-” she exclaimed, then cut herself off with an exasperated sigh and put her head into her hands again. She wasn't crying this time, but she was obviously upset again. Hard to say if it was at CJ or herself though.
She sighed heavily, then chuckled lightly and shook her head. ”He could have gotten me a ring out of a bubble gum machine and I would have more than proud to wear it...” she said quietly, still shaking her head. Then she sighed and moved her hands from her face. Crossing them around her waist and staring at the table in front of her.
”That's why he was so hellbent on working...” she muttered to herself again.

"Actually, I kinda suggested that as a joke . . . but yes. He had a great looking one, too." Dundee said with a shrug. The one he had was a beautiful ring with a genuine sapphire on it . . . for some odd reason, it "just seemed to fit" in C.J.'s words.
"Dun' does NOT get that she's Sapphire Spider, does he?"
Wait, just WAIT a minute. Why's the NOT-superpowered guy doing all the heroic stuff?
*holds razorblade to writer* "Are you implying that the girl I almost/quite possibly will marry is deadweight? You take that back RIGHT NOW, pal or I'll tear ya a new one!"
I was just pointing it out, dude. Calm down! SHEESH you're testy.
"That's 'cause YOU'RE in Florida, and I'M in Arkham. How's THAT fair, I ask you?"
Because I'm your writer and can leave the computer?
"Writer, you're a d**k."

"As long as I'm making Atlas look like a whiny little chump with all this hardware on me, I suppose so," the Joker replied, smirking. With that, the collective group of guards, Doctor Gray, and the Joker began heading back to the solitary wing.
There was still no one in the lower-security area that they had passed on their way to the interview room. The clown was visibly dissappointed with that particular fact. "Where's all the people? You'd think the only people that got sent here were super-criminals!" After a moment of thought, Joker added, "Then again, the only inmates that're in this RP seem to be various supers, so I guess that's to be expected."

Misty smiled, then sighed deeply again. "And now I'm sure he hates me for running out like that." she said quietly.
"Just a missunderstanding..." Doctor Mattis said, his tone comforting. "It may take some time... but I do believe that we can get things sorted out. You feel better knowing the truth about why CJ worked so much now... correct?"
"Well..."
"You're not angry at him any more that is." he corrected.
"No... no, of course not."
"Well then... don't you think he'll calm down some once he hears why you left so suddenly?" he asked.
Misty was quiet for a moment, then glanced down at the desk again. After a moment, she pulled two envelopes out of the inside of her coat pocket. One... a plain envelope. The other had something sparkly peeking out from under the first envelope. Like a glittery silver sticker.

One of the guards blinked and glanced down at Joker.
"I believe most of the 'common criminals' were sent to other institutions." Gray replied... taking a small note but otherwise ignoring the RP comment. "Since there were more open cells, the majority of simpler cases were moved to other halls. It's less distracting for the patients walking to doctor / patient rooms." she replied. She continued to walk with Joker and the guards down the hallway towards the hall where Gossamer, and Jokers cell were located.

Gossamer, meanwhile, had become considerably calmer. She had retreated to her little bunk, sitting down on the edge of the semi-soft matress. Her feet tapped the ground lightly, leaning over her knees staring at the ground. Her hair was draped around her, and a puzzled expression was on her face as her gaze lingered on the cement in front of her.
She just... couldn't place where or how that man knew her. SHE certainly didn't know him. Did she? Her memory hadn't been... the best lately. She remembered her past perfectly. But anything after working for Blackstone... being arrested and breaking out again... it was fuzzy. She remembered bits and pieces... but... it was like other pieces just weren't there. Scenes with no actors where there should be. Muffled voices attatched to shadowy figures. Chunks of time that just seemed to be missing. She just... couldn't piece it together.

The Joker walked through the threshold of the Solitary wing, and breathed deeply. "Home sweet home!" he said loudly, much to the consternation of some of the non-super inmates also locked up in the wing.
They soon reached Gossamer's cell, at which time the clown stopped. "Hey, Goss. Gossy! You good to talk for a moment?"

Doctor Mattis had the guards stop once they reached Janet Loveless's cell. There, she stood closeby where she would be able to observe both Joker and Gossamer. Body language and facial expression. Any detail she could get to add to the... other information still being obtained.
Gossamer looked up from the floor, only when she realized that the voice had come from outside her cell. She gave the clown a bit of a look, but stood and moved towards the man regardless. "A moment?" she asked. "I don't know... I had big plans for tonight. Could be busy for hours. Suppose I could spare a moment though..."

"Four hundred and eighty bricks make up each cell. I've counted. Also, you didn't forget how to taste, the food here forgot how to have flavor. Now your evening should be open?" the Joker quipped with a smile.

Gossamer blinked, then gave him a small smile in return. "Well... now that you've taken all the fun out of my evening... I suppose I have all night. And tomorrow. And the next night..." she sighed. She walked towards the glass portion of the cell, then stopped a few feet from it so that she'd be able to have a... half ways normal conversation.
"What did you want to talk about?"
