Andrew walked by and then stopped. he as passed this booth several times, but some how failed to fully notice it. Perhaps it was because cause the School nurse didn't seem to have any prizes. So he asked her is she was selling something. Quote: Cricket looks up at you. "You make affection sound like a cheap thing if it can be bought with money alone." she says. "No. I will not be selling anything. However, I have no small issue in rewarding.. shows of devotion." A show of devotion? He stood there thinking about it tail flicking. it wasn't that he wanted the flowers, but maybe he could convince her to give him them? He saw it more as a challenge then anything else. She was out here after all.

"Maybe, then you could just give them to me." he watched her and frowned. "I mean, you have them out for a reason right? They will die soon anyway." he sighed. This wasn't working.

"I mean if they die then you'll just have wilted flowers. They won't be much good then... then again you might like dead flowers." he bemused.
He stares down the path and thought. This really wasn't working. Maybe it he told her that he was going to give them to someone. Then he thought of someone that he might give them too. Would she like wilted flowers?

"I mean, I, I have someone to give them too. You see there is this ghoul, and well... she's undead. It's complicated." he glanced at his tail. "For obvious reason. I don't know, I scare her." he sighed. Now he just sounded pathetic. His tail flame burned a little brighter.
"I mean... well, it's, I don't, I can't even explain why I like her." he didn't want to go into the details of that crazy dream of his. "But she's really pretty. Maybe she would like them dead or not. I mean I can't get close to her but well, maybe I can give her things that can." he sighed again. "You know what, nevermind."

Selene just watched the student from earlier try to beg Cricket for flowers. He didn't know the professor very well, did he? She seemed unaffected, almost ignoring his attempts - ignoring mostly everything, really. Selene tried to think of a way to be more bold. She sat there and picked up one of the flowers, her fingers playing with one of the petals, and an idea started to form..

Cricket's normally straight lined expression probably would be misinterpreted as a poker face. "Ghoul talk?" pause. "Are you saying you want to watch Soap Operas with Red and myself?" Did Selene even know the pair watched Soap Operas? Whelp, she did now.
"I can't imagine what it is you're fishing for." Then paused, looking towards the flowers Selene held. Oh. Rengath's flowers. "I see you saw Rengath." she commented dryly. Purposely so.
Eisheth's interest in her plants earned a small shrug. "Take one then. I don't mind sharing what is out in the open. What is in my greenhouse, however, is mine." Which meant she'd share those of her own volition. "Albeit, I will show you mine if you show me yours." Cricket's wicked grin would unnerve those unfamiliar with it - which basically was everybody, as the nurse didn't often emote to such... extremes.
And then there was the other Horsewoman who kept piping up, garnering a frustrated sound from the nurse. "Take something if it will keep you from constantly asking the same question over and over again."

Selene dropped all the flowers on the floor in surprise. "You.. watch soap operas together..?" She squeaked, her mouth hanging open. She didn't know, but Jack help her, now she wanted that more than anything in the world. Her hands clasped together and she put them under her chin, giving Cricket her sweetest face. "Could I? Please please pleaaaaaaaaaase?" She blinked big, adorable eyes up at the woman, and forgot all about what she'd come here to say.. until she mentioned Rengath. Selene let out a soft /oh!/ as she was reminded of why she'd come, and she grinned up at Cricket playfully. "You sent Rengie flowers." Selene whispered conspiratorially. "On Scarentine's Day. Crickie, I never knew your heart yearned for another." She never knew Cricket's heart had the ability to yearn. Her eyes turned into two beating hearts. "It's so romaaantic~~"

Eisheth grinned. This kind of talk she enjoyed much better. " I would be delighted to invite such a famous specialist to see a mediocre garden of mine", her tone wasn't flattering; it was a rather ceremonial form of politeness. " I don't have much flowers, though, mostly the plants I use to create my potions. Faiyum, my relative, specializes in plants... and my field is potions. And I would be most happy to see your greenhouse, if you allow me". demon_pachabel And I would like you to consider this an invitation for Eisheth x Cricket PRP whenever you feel like! She's literally going to show her garden smile Dunno, how I hadn't thought about it before, but I expect it to be quite interesting.

If she'd had the capacity to grimace right then at the look on Selene's face, Cricket would have. Apparently the ghoul really wanted some ghoulie bonding time with the big ghouls or something. Not that Cricket really saw herself as a 'big ghoul' or anything like that.
"If Red says you're allowed, then sure...we normally just make a giant fort in the infirmary and smuggle a TV in there and stay up all night...." she admitted. "And it's been a marathon of catching up since she got back." After all, when Soap Operas aired for a freakin' hour five days a week and one got behind.......
well, there was a lot of catch up to do.
However, it seemed that what Selene had really wanted was to ask about Rengath. "I send him flowers every year. It's nothing." she said first, then winced. She should have denied that she'd done anything on her own behalf there, shouldn't she? Crap. "My hear only yearns for one other and that's never happening. It certainly isn't Rengath." she eyed the yellow tulips. "Those aren't exactly romantic flowers either...."

Heidla shuddered when she realized she was addressed to. She was definitely bewitched, wasn't she? Could it be that those flowers just stole her dignity? Or was she... was she .... ah, whatever. She smiled her best smile at Cricket and mumbled: "Can I have those... lilies?" demon_pachabel If I got it right, and if it was embarrassing enough - can I get a scent lily please? smile p.s. so sorry, I misunderstood Cricket smile Pach Edit: I've already sent you minis for your successful rolls in this thread.

Selene melted from sheer joy. She would have to ask Red for permission, which.. would be hard, since she had trouble speaking around Red from sheer shy intimidation, but for this, she would try.. ..to send her a note. Yes, yes, that would do nicely! As Cricket chatted with the horsewoman, Selene daydreamed about watching soap operas in a fort with two women she.. wished she could call her true friends. In fact, she wished she could say with any certainty that anyone was her close friend, except of course for Moira and Malcolm. Everyone else merely tolerated her. (To his credit, Malcolm too merely tolerated her, but Selene refused to see him as anything but her closest and dearest of friends.) She shied away from the silly, melancholy thoughts that troubled her flightly little mind and picked the flowers back up. "Silly Cricket, they are very romantic! Don't you know what tulips signify in the human world? They are a symbol of hopeless love. Ah, Crickie, you can't give up on him. Never give up on love, even if it seems hopeless." Selene sighed long and dramatically, then started plucking flower petals off of one of the flowers. "He loves her.. he loves her not. He loves her.. he loves her not. He loves her.. he loves her not... HE LOVES HER!" She held the last flower petal up, squealing in triumph. "I just knew it! He doesn't love me after all! Cricket, you and Rengie were meant to be!" ... uh oh.

"I don't care what the flowers mean, I have no reason to pursue Rengath." Cricket was going to try and smooth this situation over as quickly as she could. Seriously, Selene. She wasn't pursing the - oh man, what was she doing now?
Cricket's lips tightened as Selene began to pluck the petals off of the flower, crossing her arms and trying to look calm, rather than either annoyed or embarrassed, seriously Selene she was trying to make other people feel awkward, not her.
The triumphant HE LOVES YOU, 5EVER TOGETHER moment was enough to make her grimace, however. "That's kind of the opposite of what I want. I just send him the flowers because it's hilarious, I mean.. he has Valentinophobia. He's terrified of romance, Selene. He couldn't be in a relationship even when I wanted him....."
Erp.

Tiny little Selene seemed to float up into the air.. (when in reality, her tail was just supporting the weight of her entire body, holding her up) and hovered right next to Cricket's face. Her expression was radiating with delight as the admission slipped. "So you did want him." Selene whispered, giggling like a child. "And now, because he has Valen..t.. because he is a silly man, you have given up on the idea. I understand, my poor Crickie." Selene closed her eyes and nodded sagely. "I understand." Did she? "You need to figure out how to woo him without the use of romance." She didn't. Plopping back down until she was sitting on her tail, Selene crossed her legs and put her finger on her chin as she carefully thought out possibilities. "What we need, is to find out what Rengie does like. I admit I'm not really very in tune with him, but I bet if I just tried hard enough, I could find out something. And then.. then maybe.." Her hands clasped in front of her, and she sighed again. "Ahh, Crickie." Her eyes pricked with tears. "It makes me so happy to see that someone has a chance.. at love.." She was thinking about Arcana again. Somebody get the tissues.
