The scenery was the one thing that Riley couldn't take her eyes off of. She breathed in fresh air, and stared, in absolute awe, at the splendor that surrounded her. Her hand clutched at Mot's, as though she was certain she would float away if not for his anchor there to hold her down. It was all so new to her, and that made it all so very beautiful.
She turned, pulled away from her reverie to look at him, after he professed his wish. It was hers, as well - not that he knew it. But to hear a man, no greater or lesser than his fellow man, offer his life for the Kingdom, moved her. He could have anything - a normal, happy life. A wife, a family, perhaps even a garden as beautiful as this one. But he risked it all for the Kingdom. She, who had nothing but the Kingdom, found she couldn't pull her eyes away from the man who would give up all his other chances willingly for it.
It was strange, the warmth that thought brought. She knew he was a good man - but she knew that from the moment she'd laid eyes on him, or else she never would have accepted his offer. It was her gift, the gift she'd given to the King as her advisor for so many years. She found no seed of corruption in the young man's heart - he would serve his Kingdom, and Xiu, flawlessly.
But right now, he was just a man. A good, warm man who held her hand and shared the beauty of the world with her.
I've never been outside the palace before today. She shared this bit of privacy with him. Everything looks so beautiful, so bright. Her eyes were still rested on him. I want to protect it all, too.

Just as Xiu was about to lead the two girls back to the palace garden, someone else decided to drop in, quite literally. The King's mouth dropped open in shock, and she instinctively took a step forward to help them up...only to realize just where their hand was.
...
...
Was it inappropriate for Xiu to burst out laughing? Because if it was, too bad. At the very least, she had the mind to hold a hand up at Shun, an indication that he should kindly not take revenge for the impromptu grope. At least, not until she stopped laughing and could breath again.

Green eyes softened as he listened to Tahn's tale, paying attention to the the finer details. "So, your former kingdom collapsed and you ended up here.' he realized and patted the person. "I'm sure our highness will accept you with open arms if you tell her." he stated after pausing, to reflect on the lumpy bush and its impacted flowers. "You can just lay down new roots here in that case. start fresh." he offered optimistically when the sight of Terra came up. The lady always brought a smile to his face, she was attentive and kind, and was gentle whenever he got a thorn in his thumb. His cheeks were already hurting with stifled laughter at the sight of her medic supplies. "Once again, you are over-prepared, Terrra."

Mot stared back with a curious expression painted on his face, arched brows evening out in thought. "Never? Then it must be overwhelming. And sad.. I really hope that today is not your last chance to take it in."
He smiled fondly then, looking back toward the gardens and their splendor. "I take it for granted how pretty it all is, how peaceful it always is. This tournament has really made me see it differently."
Even a timid and innocent being such as the lady in hand would put her life in jeopardy for a world she only knew a small fraction of. He didn't enjoy that they all needed to put their lives on the line so that one King could reign supreme, however...
"We'll make sure it stays safe. So we all have a home to go back to. Let's do our best, yeah?"

Shun eyed the group, then grimaced.
"Very well. I won't be lon--"
He was cut off as suddenly a man had dropped down right by him. The man began to turn, bewildered with the sudden appearance when he felt a hand grabbing his rear. For a moment, he froze, staring down at the kneeling one. Getting the pat made him snap out of it though and he was just about to reach into his sleeve to grab something when he caught Xiu bringing her hand up to order him to hold.
Twitching, he gritted his teeth and just made do with glaring at the guy who had just groped him.
"Consider yourself lucky" he hissed before turning away so he could fetch his equipment.
Of all the things to happen.
Why the hell couldn't that have happened to Riley instead?

Overwhelming, yes. Sad, how could I be? Even if this is my last day, what a day it is. She looked up at the sky, and her eyes crescented into moon shapes, letting the fresh air brush against her skin and form goosebumps.
What saddened her was the thought of that came next. What if she did not die in the fight to save this land? Would she come back a hero, perhaps to hold this hand once more, and stand beside her King proudly? And then? She could never return to her sisters, and her King no longer needed an advisor.
This day was perfect. But the days of uncertainty to come would not be so.
Her hand tightened around his, and a soft, content expression was visible in her eyes. I would be happy with just this.

Looking up to the female that was approaching him he grinned because well what else was there to do when you were caught in an accidental bad touch? The fact that she started to laugh caused him to release a breath he didn't remember holding than laugh along with her. Well at least someone had taken the situation for what it was, a delightfully awkward accident but hilarious none the less.
Peering back up he noticed the twitch of the mans eye and tried not to press him more than need be, Spinar liked a bit of fun but he wasn't stupid and the man looked a little more than menacing as he glared at him and delivered the threat. "That I already do, but I'll double the luck.." He commented softly, grinning and attempting to get up onto his feet. Wincing as he moved he made it upright then bent to dust off his knees. Noticing the man turned away he called a little mockingly late, "apologies stranger." With that he turned up to the one that had apparently saved his skin and tipped his silver head with a sly smile.

Mot smiled warmly in response, gazing at the wonder-filled woman beside him before his terra cotta eyes glances elsewhere. It wasn't until her hand tightened around his that he looked back to her again, curiously tilting his head.
"Just this?" He parroted in curiosity. This day as it was always? Days outside the palace? Or...
He smiled again, pleasant and calm. "Why is it you've not been outside the Palace?"

Irritably, Shun had made it to his little shack and grabbed a heavy bag of his things, then started to trek on back towards the palace. He supposed that he could tend to this things in his home, but he did want to spend some time in the gardens. With any luck, he wouldn't end up getting groped again.
Once he had re-entered the gardens, he saw that a number of the others were already here. That was no surprise, but one thing he did notice was Riley looking rather happy on the grass... that she was standing barefoot in.
Ah. Right. She had always been barefoot.
"Oi. Riley. You're going to need to get some shoes or something before the battles begin. Unless you want to risk stepping in some sharp rocks or worse," he said in a matter of fact tone before finding himself a place and seating himself in the shade. From the bag, he pulled out one of his blades and began to inspect it carefully.
As he did this, he also realized there were a couple unfamiliar faces in the garden. Two. Their dress was somewhat similar to the three that had appeared outside the castle. His eyes narrowed once more as he stared at them both.
"More refugees from the silver kingdom?" he murmured, regarding the two strangers. One was being tended to. The other simply looked dazed.

He followed quietly, boxes in hand, brows furrowing at the commotion some handful of oddballs had stirred up in the quiet garden. West looked back at Levi when she spoke, his frown lingering for a moment until he realized who he was standing in front of.
"Yes. Everything will be perfect." He would find somebody to help him set up... right after he checked out what was going on.
As the queen took her leave, West pulled at one of the boards holding the nearest box shut. He gingerly removed a strand of colorful and delightfully loud little bombs, draping them around his neck before turning back to the box. Something was hissing.
Someone had lit one of his rockets.
West didn't bother trying to figure out who or how, he simply grabbed it and quickly ran toward the door. "No time, no time," he muttered, hurrying past the newcomers and familiar faces alike. Up ahead... there! If she had the power of mindspeech, surely the sister could cushion others from a massive explosion somehow, right?
"Here!" he barked, passing the firework to Riley.
And then he was gone.

No… Kaguya stared at the King, she was kidding right? She had to be kidding; Kaguya was certainly not fighting material. She was a herbalist that liked to make teas and potions and vitamin water and juice and and… It was like her head was about to explode. It probably didn’t look like her mind had been blown on the outside; after all she had a blank look on her face and was staring at the King without really seeing her. This was war, and Kaguya felt like the first victim to feel the effects had been the Silver kingdom. You want to create complete chaos? Destroy those who gather facts. A good strategy, but the world had crumbled, there had been no soldiers.
“Thank you.” Was all Kaguya could mutter, she was still trying to process all the facts. She didn’t have many questions, after all the news of the Silver kingdoms fall hadn’t even reached here yet. The tournament however, had produced a few questions that would require an answer. She would follow them for now, the king had offered refuge, but everything came at a price. Would the King request information from them for refuge? They didn’t exactly have much to offer, well Kaguya didn’t have much to offer, she didn’t know about what the other girl had.
The sudden appearance of a new comer caught Kaguya’s attention, especially considering he’d just grabbed onto the guy whom she’d thought was quite guarded against them. It did look like another from the Silver Kingdom, good another ally to rely on if he managed to stay alive touching the other. From the reaction the King was having though, he was going to be fine and Kaguya had to stifle a laugh.

The subject was hard to explain to someone who didn't know of her order. She ducked her head, taking a moment to put together her thoughts. I was one of the sisters of Dao. I was given up, at an early age, to the sisterhood, to purge myself of the sins our mortal coils bestow upon us. It is only recently I was handed over as a gift to the King, to be her moral advisor. And now.. I feel she has no need for such a thing. She beamed proudly at the King as she came closer. She is the perfect leader, in mind, body, and spirit. I am of no use to her, except to die in her name at the battle to come. She spoke this as if it was just fact, a simple fact she'd accepted.
Shun's quip made her look down at her feet, and her head tilted slightly in absolute confusion. Shoes..? I don't own any.. shoes.. Even her confusion was interrupted with confusion, as the fireworks vendor handed her a lit candle. It sparkled with light, and she held it closer, inspecting it carefully.
Oh.. how pretty.. What a sweet gift.

Terra pulled a roll of gauze out of her supplies and bopped Dante on the back of the head with it before looking at Than expectantly. As if she'd done no wrong. Because he'd totally been asking for it.

Mot's expression saddened. He didn't understand how someone could be so complacent with not being needed anymore. He could hardly accept that the King would see someone as not being of any use.. it was a terrible and sad thought. His worries were cut off as he looked to Shun, his own gaze dropping to Riey's bare feet. "Ah.. we'll get you som---"West's sudden arrival and abrupt leave, and a present left behind had Mot's baggy eyes widening in fear. "IOEHFQIWEHFQEFHQO!!!" Mot hastily grabbed the firecracker, using all his power to chuck it into the air over the gardens. Please don't hit someone... :I ..... Score.
