Out of the corner of her eye, Crocus checked her group. Dangit. Both of her bucks were gone. One was trying to save their lives, and the other... hraka! Where WAS that storyteller? She couldn't stop or slow down; she had two wounded does to get to safety. But she could call for him. "Ray! Get back here! We can't slow down, and I don't want to leave you! Get back to the warren if you can't catch up!" She had no idea where the storyteller was. No idea at all. This was NOT how this night was supposed to go! They'd been lucky with the cat, but escaping this dog would take as much skill as it would luck. Skill... and the ability to actually get to safety.

Dogsbane ran until he was sure there was nothing following him. He paused, lifting to his hind paws. His ears flicked several times. It must have gone- OH FRITH, NO!!! He would not forgive himself if the dog went after his team.
He bolted back across the field, half expecting there to be a massacre of blood and rabbit skins and a happy dog with Crocus in its teeth. When he found them safe, he took up his part, acting as a brace for the injured.

I pray for your safety little bunCamellia felt a motherly instinct flow through her body. She did not want to go help but seeing that poor lost rabbit in the dog's mouth, it was not a pretty sight... Heart thumping, dropping her hay at Crocus' feet, she leaves the team and ran full speed towards Ray and the dog..... Why did she decide to help? She doesn't even know how to fight a dog................... @_@..

Kalei watched with some pride as a gray rabbit streaked by, intending to lead the dog away from the others. She veered around the two, intending to leave the buck to his work, but saw with a falling heart that the do was changing course. It looked as if... he was heading towards a rabbit going in circles!?
She was panting hard from all the running she'd been doing, but she wasn't out of the ring just yet. Changing course once more, she ran at the dog.

The noises told her where Ray was, and Crocus's heart broke. No. No. No. No.
No.
She wanted more than anything to DO something about this, but she couldn't think out in the open. There was a dark tangle of bramble, a good place to hide. Safe cover. She headed for it, buying her team moments of time. Dogsbane was catching back up to the group. They didn't need a distraction for the dog now, he'd never drop Ray to chase another rabbit. In fact, that dog was probably never going to drop Ray. It made her sick, and she wanted more than anything to head out there and claw the dog's eyes out, but she had a responsibility to the warren. To her team. To Dogsbane, to Camellia, to Linnet, to Darkbrier... to the ones she'd left behind. To the fellow officers who she stood with every day. To... to those she cared about.
She had a responsibility to Ray, too... but sadly for her, the others trumped it.
"I'm leading the wounded to safety," she called. "I have to. I can't stop any of you from going to help, but... remember your families. Remember your warren. Remember the Down." The officer's voice was shaking as her whiskers quivered. "We've accomplished so much tonight. Please. I don't want to lose anyone." She felt like a coward, but knew that if she went back to help Ray, more rabbits would die.

Ray screeched in pain, the dog's teeth tearing at his flesh "ACK I'VE BEEN H-H-IT!" he scrambled around in the dog's jaws, "ACK - N-now look here large fuzzy fellow! I- EEP I now this isn't the way we play n-ICE! ACK! Butterflies! Trees! Assist me pllllease!" it was getting harder to breath with every second.

Darkbrier ground her teeth in frustration after following Crocus into the brambles when she heard Ray's cries. That idiot. He should never have been allowed to come on this raid, his mind was gone and it was obvious. Someone should have shoved him back into the warren and sat on him. She wanted to go help, but trying to shift to turn around hurt so much it brought tears to her eyes. Or maybe it was knowing that crazy old buck was probably about to die. She couldn't be sure, but it frustrated her all the same. "Inle', please... please no more, not tonight. Please." She'd never feared the Black Rabbit for herself, but she feared for the others, and very strongly now. This was his time, but she hoped by some miracle he would change his mind about calling any of them to his warren tonight.

Ani had wasted little time in getting to the edge of the farm. She could just barely make out the dog in the distance. She wasn’t sure what to do. She had warned one set and gotten them out but… she watched as the dog snatched up a rabbit. She took off at full speed rushing towards them, she had stashed the food she had brought near the fence before running into help Ray with the dog.
