Gabriele switched her Blut from Arterie to Vene, focusing her spiritual pressure on defense, and nullified the Shinigami's attack. She then drew and activated a Seele Schneider, firing it quickly against her enemy, intending to disable, but not wound.

Kaori rolled to one side. "This is it! I have a feeling that if I don't finish this now, this will be the end of me!"
With strength and speed that she didn't even know she possessed, she swung and snapped her whip once more, sending it flying at unbelievable speeds at her opponent.

Gabriele dodged the attack with Hirenkyaku. Panting, she raised her hands.
"Well! I'm tired. I'll let you have this one," the Quincy said, banishing her weapons and stepping down.

Kaori cursed under her breath. She was appalled at the thought of winning her first match by default. "おーおい！ちょっと待ってよ！" she yelled, but before she could finish the phrase, her opponent had stepped out of the ring and the referee made the call.
With another curse, she wobbled out of the ring and took a seat.

Haruka felt hot blood spray from the wounds on her chest and arm. In her effort to block the attack with her arm, she found herself hit twice.
She formed a ball of energy in her hand and threw it at her enemy's torso.
