Jaromila followed Beta's gaze and when she saw Haides sleeping, she smiled. Then she turned back to Beta and tried to think of an answer to that.
"I am not sure, I suppose it is possible he could read, might be something to find out. If he does not know how to read, it is possible that he has heard stories from others,"Mila answered.

"Mm-hmm!" Beta smiled brightly. "We should all stargaze together sometime. And Haides can tell his stories about the cons...constell... constellerations!" she announced, fumbling over the larger word. She didn't know how Haides had learned to say it so easily.
(( She's trying to say "constellations." XD ))

Jaromila's tail swayed behind her and she looked really interested in the idea.
"Yes, I would love for all of us to stargaze sometime, it would be quite a nice night. I wonder how many stories about the constellations Haides knows, I would like to hear about them. I must admit, my knowledge of them are somewhat limited,"Mila admitted.

Beta nodded. "He has lots! I don't know how many, though..." She looked up at the sky. "I don't know a lot 'bout them either, but it's ok 'cause Haides does. And things he doesn't know lots about I do!"

Jaromila thought about what Beta said and smiled, liking how they seemed to know things the other didn't.
"Sounds like how it is with my family, where one of us does not know something, one of the others do. It always helps to have others to ask when you have questions. I will enjoy being able to swap stories and information with the two of you too,"Mila beamed.

"Uh-huh! It's lots of fun!" Beta beamed. "Let's be friends forever," she declared suddenly. "You, Haides, and me." Looking at Haides, she continued. "That way he won't be so worried when he leaves."

Jaromila looked thoughtful as the suggestion, kind of liking the idea herself. Though she did wonder what Beta meant when she said he wouldn't worry when he leaves.
"What makes you think he would worry when he leave, Beta? Also, I would like having the two of you my friends forever, it would be nice to have Azrein that I can turn to that are outside my family,"Mila admitted.

"Haides worries 'bout me 'cause I'm clumsy," Beta explained, "and I im-pul-sive... I don't think about things 'fore I do them. I get lost really easily too. When Haides goes to travel, I don't think I'll be going with him." She smiled brightly. "I like it here, and I'm not really the traveling type... But Haides wants to go." She paused for a moment. "The more friends and family I have supporting me here, the less likely he is to worry. That, and..."
The filly ended that train of thought before it finished. "It'll be great! That way we'll all have friends outside of our family. And we can visit and stargaze together."

Jaromila looked sad for a moment, wishing Haides didn't have to go anywhere too far. She was starting to like his company, but she knew she couldn't stop him if he wanted to travel.
"Well, he will be missed when he goes traveling. Yes, it will be nice to have friends, I will enjoy it greatly,"Mila smiled at the end.

Beta nodded, her own expression falling slightly. But it brightened again when she looked at the colt. "But he'll come back. He'll always come back."

Jaromila's smile widened when Beta said he would come back. She looked over to him and nodded, somehow knowing that she was right.
"Yes, I do not foresee him being able to stay away from you for very long, Beta. He really cares about you, I noticed that when he was talking about you to me yesterday,"Mila admitted.

"... He promised me... that I'd never have to be alone again." Beta's expression was serene, as if even remembering that promise lifted a burden off her shoulders. "He'll come back... to make sure it's not being broken." She smiled brightly. "And he'll come back to see you too."

"Maybe, but his coming back would be more to see you, I am sure of it. You are very close to him and he really cares about you,"Mila spoke.

Jaromila smiled, before nodding her head, she really liked the sound of that.
"Yes, he will come back for both of us, that is a wonderful way to put it. I have never had a best friend before, well not including my family, so this is new to me,"Mila confessed.
