Arin stirred in the basin and awoke to a dim light that was altogether too bright. She tried to slowly open her eyes and ended up blinding herself to the intense burning light that had blinded her out of her mind. With a pitiful groan, she attempted to lift herself from the water and failed. She couldn't remember feeling so weak in her entire life. Of course, that may merely have been the gross difference in power between her old self and her new self. Her entire body felt... Raw. As if her skin had been peeled away to expose her to the harsh elements. If she only knew. She felt someone lean over her, because she had closed her eyes again, and couldn't see them. It was the Herbalist, though of course Arin didn't know this. The girl started screaming as her flesh began boiling. Her brain had finally rebooted and her nerves had gone back online. Open air is not the gentlest of all sensations on exposed nerves. In fact, most sensations are not very pleasant when one has been burnt to a crisp and then skinned alive. The tea in which she had been soaked appeared to have eaten away the dead skin to prevent infection, and Arin was completely exposed in ways she had never known. her screams would normally have echoed through the caves, into the homes of every inhabitant of the Village. Presently, though, it was such a weak, piteous sound that it barely carried through the herbalist's clinic. The sound was so opposed to Arin's typical state of barely supressed rage that it sounded even more pitiful. It was no question that Arin was, if not grossly diminished, then certainly in an unimaginable amount of pain.
The Herbalist ignored the girl's cries as she went about crushing other flowers and leaves into an unidentifiable gray powder, which she took and began sprinkling into an even coating over the surface of the water, which sat on the top of the water like a blanket, obscuring Arin and her tea from vision. Arin's whimpering pleas continued and the herbalist very carefully touched a point near the center of the blanket, just over Arin's stomach. This motion was enough to break the surface tension of the water and the leaves plummeted into the water in a cascading domino effect that wrapped Arin's body in the flaky blanket.
Almost immediately, Arin's pathetic whining ceased, and she grew still as what appeared to be a very powerful painkiller coated her exposed nerve endings and soothed the pain away. It felt very much like being embraced by a cool ocean current, much like the ones on M13 that could catch you unaware and drag you to the depths of the abyss. It had been over 24 hours since the battle with the Devourer, but even Arin's healing factor was not enough for such a process in so little a time, though it was making definite progress. It was no wonder that she wasn't up and walking about at this point, but at this rate it might not be long before she was.

Sitting next to an obelisk of ice, shivers ran up Zyke's spine, fight them though he may. A frigid breeze ran across his cold body, his Saiyan blood being probably the only thing keeping him alive through the frost. He could hardly focus his sight to check his surroundings through the heavy shivering wracking his body. Survey the surroundings he did though. All around there was snow covering dark stones around. Pillars and spines of ice shot out of the ground and sides of stone all around, being even more common than the eerily dark stone itself.
Dark clouds loomed overhead, completely blacking out the sky, no sight of either a Sun or a Moon anywhere above. With the utter lack of any form of plant or life around, he also assumed that neither had been seen for a long time. Confusion formed it's way into Zyke's mind. He had no idea how he ended up there. One moment he was next to Alice, downloading her A.I. into a drone to take with him and save her. Now though, here he was freezing his a** off with no idea of where he was even freezing his a** off at.
A strange feeling of being watched, maybe not even being watched, more like being stalked by something, suddenly washed over him. Chills snake their way up his spine as he scans around for the source of this sudden uncomfort. His eyes lock on a pair of icy blue orbs in the shadows near him. Gazing straight at these eyes in the shadows, a pulse rippled through Zyke's arm, sourcing from his breast right over his heart. His chest began to rush as the shadowed figure leapt at him with a speed Zyke couldn't follow.

Sunlight scorched into his vision as Zyke suddenly snapped his eyes open. The brightness caused him to lift an arm high to block the direct sunlight from himself, giving a brief enough respite to re-acclimate to sunlight. Looking around, he could see plenty of ship scraps and wreckage littered over a wide area, the remaining entirety of ALICE laying to rest behind him. A beeping sound registered in his ears slightly to his left. The drone had successfully finished the transfer of ALICE instead of it's own systems. Zyke's eyes wandered to see Roa standing not far from him still, and beyond Roa the Conculs lounged about restlessly, awaiting his next command. No rest came to him during that wait, the chill breeze still almost caused shivers, although in reality there was no breeze here and the temperature was not cold in the slightest.
With a sigh, Zyke lifted himself from his relaxed position on the side of ALICE. Removing the connected cable between the little drone and ALICE, he went through the process of starting her back up and running the drone to act as ALICE. The optical orb of the drone flickered on with a blueish light as ALICE began all her systems. With a look to Zyke and a polite, "Hello," ALICE had returned to Tenkuu from the dead. He smiled to himself. Sad to say, the computer was one of the only members of this team he could actually consider his friend, even though she was programmed to be friendly and complaisant. Still, having her back was a positive feeling.
With the drone hovering over his shoulder, Zyke returned his gaze back to the Conculs in his command. With a single motion of one hand, the commander was summoned to him from the crowd.
"Yes, sir?" the commander asked in a raspy, lizard-like tone.
"Tell me commander, what is your name if I'm to be leading you." Zyke demanded of him with no emotion to his tone.
"I am known as Slevik, sir."
"Slevik?"
"Aye, sir."
Slevik, not a bad name for a lizard creature he supposed. It definitely had the sound of a certain leadership to it. Maybe there was hope for this Concul yet. "Alright Slevik, next on our agenda, who is your king? Where can I find them?" He wanted to find the head of their civilization and bring their people to their knees from the head, bringing him to his goal ever quicker.

Placing his hand upon Slevik's shoulder and holding tightly, Zyke lifted himself up onto Slevik's back. Making sure he had a good seat on the Consul's back and making sure he wouldn't slip or fall, he ushered him off to begin the long journey to the Concul's capital where the palace and king resided. Slevik had explained a fair bit about their king and their capital. According to Slevik, the king was a mighty old Concul named Vil'ek. He did a rather good job of not revealing much details about the king, not an accident Zyke was sure, but it was enough to sate Zyke's curiosity for now, he would find out personally soon enough anyway.
The journey would take a little while. The small bend of Concul that now obeyed Zyke was actually on their way to the Orsan city where ALICE and Tenkuu had crashed. It was about halfway from the capital that the two had met during Zyke's slaughter. There was little in the way of scenery on the trip. Plenty of dull grey stone and small... puddles were the only name that Zyke could place to them... of water to dot the otherwise bland and also grey landscape. The only bit of color was a sickly looking yellow grass that grew in tiny batches in the barren soil. It was easy for him to understand why the dominate race on this planet was carnivorous... plant-life for herbivores was almost non-existent.
Slevik was actually a fine example of a Concul's potential. He was a good amount larger than the other Conculs, and quite faster than the rest as well. With four axes attached to his back, he took advantage of his extra pair of arms to wield four destructive weapons all at the same time. The concept of this excited Zyke, and he suddenly had an itch to go toe-to-toe with this Concul and see this unique fighting-style for himself. Sadly though, Slevik was too much of an asset to risk it. Honestly, Zyke hadn't seen any Conculs that had seemed to hold the same experience or wisdom that Slevik held, and he deemed none of the rest worthy of speaking directly to him. Disgust for these honor-less creatures was slightly mitigated by Slevik's example.
After maybe thirty minutes, Zyke had a hard time of keeping track of time here with the different rotation period, he looked over to Roa. This human had already shown a good potential, and he seriously hoped that he would live up to the expectations Zyke had for him.
"So human, tell me. What's your name. With the odd circumstances of our first meeting, we have yet to be introduced. I'm Zyke."

Flying next to the Concul, Roa let his arms dangle. "My name is Roa, pleasure to meet you. I guess we never did get to know each other, got side tracked on that ship after we left that last planet. Sure beat my a** though, Same with that changeling." Struck by the sudden epiphany, he looked over his shoulder back towards the pit. "Think he's dead? didn't look like he could take that kinda crash, I mean hell, I don't even really remember what happened after I finished training, think I must have busted my head somewhere in that whole situation." His hand landed just below the neck to touch his fathers eyepatch. When his hand touched bare skin, a slight moment of panic. But it was bound to happen sooner or later, better to let go of his father now than get any hopes of seeing him ever again. He pushed the panicked feeling down into his stomach and continued along next to Zyke.

With a small chuckle he remembered about his old acquaintance. Turning to rest backwards on the Concul, now riding back-to-back on Slevik, he stared back long at the pit they landed in. Arin was nowhere to be seen and Selena and Lite were missing as well. Although to be fair he didn't really even look for either of them, hell he had completely forgotten the changeling altogether until Roa had just mentioned him again. As they left though, the outskirts at the rim of the pit seemed much more decimated than usual.
There seemed to be a large tunnel dropping straight into the ground. It almost looked like a vertical cavern with how large the circumference of the tunnel was. Also odd to note, Arin was nowhere to be found, even though she was right there not but maybe thirty minutes ago or so. Butter-corpsed Orsans still littered the ground all around the village, the red of blood being the most color seen in the area. Where could she have possibly gone so soon after this wanton slaughter?
Looking to alleviate his questions, Zyke looked back up to Roa. He would like to know more about this human. "So tell me..." he began.
"Tell me more about your past, how you came to be here."

((preform check)) Roa thought back to the times his father would tell him stories back at their home. He inhaled, then sighed heavily. "Well, to be honest, I dont really have a place to start. My Father and I had been living together for what seems as long as I can remember. I don't remember my mother at all, and my father never really spoke of her. And it wasn't like I'd ever need to know about her, my father told me pretty much everything that there was to know about living on the outskirts of the human district, ya know, the edge of town out by the forest? Well we kinda were held up in a tiny shack, just big enough for the two of us to live comfortably. " We scavenged and even stole sometimes, only when my dad couldn't work up some kind of money preforming on the street. He used to do this trick that involved juggling. He would toss them around for a while, then when everyone was watching how high he'd toss them, he'd shoot each of them out of the air with a single ki shot." He raised his hand above his head as he floated lazily, mimicking the single shot through the imaginary, free floating balls. "He would train me. First it was just with the ki shots. Nothing special, we would just shoot at bottles and cans we could find in the alley outside of the house. I was up to shooting them while he threw them. I'd have to say I was a pretty decent shot too, or I was getting there at least. He was going to show me how to do some of his tricks eventually. I even remember waiting for him to come home." Another sigh left his body, heavy with sadness. He reflexively touched his neck for the eye patch, and pulled his hand away quickly, forgetting it was lost in the crash. "I was told that there was a riot around his usual spot, where he would do his tricks. I didn't see him for several days. I was pretty certain he was dead, I mean, I'm more than certain he is, cuz one day I found a police officer walking around with my dad's eye patch like it was some freaking prize." "So I killed him. I mean, ever since that, I've had it out against police and law enforcement. As far as I know, they killed him." Thinking to how he came to meet Zyke, he remembered crashing the ship. "And I got onto that last planet, M whatever it was, I was on board a police vessel. I found the best course of action was to drive that mother into the core!"

"In reality, I didn't know what to do when my father didn't come back. I kinda stayed in the hut, ate the food I had left. I was kinda just a robot, going through a routine. Eat, stand outside, watch the street, then go to bed disappointed. I just started getting even angrier at the cops, first it started with joining riots, then I'd start them." Roa touched a small scar under his ear, acquired from a spat with a cocky saiyan roughing a group of human kids up.
"Then I decided that it would be a good idea to sneak into one of the police precincts. A very long story short, I ended up on a ship leaving Nexum. One whole small police force dying later, I was kinda drifting in a ship I didn't know how to pilot. After like, I don't know, a week, I ended up crashing into M13, where I met you, and Alice." His last words, he directed his eyes over to the Alice-bot.
