The scavenger snuffled her way over to a tree root, tugging on it to reveal a hollow underneath... it was empty, though. She put the root back with a huff.

Maybe the tree itself? She searched the knots in the bark carefully, just in case one of them held a secret. It seemed they were just ordinary wood, though...

Ah! There was one in the fork of the tree! Manyara clawed her way up the trunk and snagged it, jumping back down with a bright toothy grin. Hah!

Manyara pushed aside part of the booth drapery with one foot, then dove - sure enough, that glint of color she'd seen ended up being another candy. SUCCESS.

She trudged over and scraped at the bark. She was a scavenger, damnit, skilled at finding things wherever they might be found - why was this candy giving her such a hard time?!

As she landed, her foot hit something hard - that fifth and final candy. Only slightly smushed from a scavenger jumping on it. She slammed the candies down with a triumphant, toothy grin. Hah.
