With their wing down to half-strength, N'mol and Tyeth were more focused than ever. N'mol's nerves were taut with the stress of fighting Thread and the determination not to let it be his failure that caused them to get hurt.
Their increased vigilance kept them out of harm's way as Tyeth burned through the Thread before them, but he heard a dragon bellow out and looked up to see a Blue vanish between. However, it was one of the Trine Blues and there was no keen afterward, despite the Blue not reappearing. Whatever Scoring he had taken, that Blue had clearly returned to Trine, likely for the rest of the Fall.

The third wave of thread was falling strong and steady, Plexith flamed in a wide arc in front of him, burning to char as much as he could - however even the best can't catch everything and despite both of their Diligence D'lin didn't see the thread that landed on his shoulder until it was to late. Plexith feeling his riders pain instantly took them between.

The cold of between killing it almost instantly. Returning to the fight Plexith opened his maw to spray flame 'I am sorry mine..is it bad?'
D'lin grit his teeth and didn't look 'It's be fine Plexith, it wasn't your fault, you know it happens as well as I do' He told his dragon moving to pat him on the next sympathetically only to wince in pain and choose to keep his arm still instead.

Ca'mil and Cheryth were covering twice the area they had been before - like everyone else in the wing they were having to work harder with the lack of greens. But on falls like this and already short handed due to the fighting and rebellion well...there was nothing she knew her wingleader could have done about it.

'Left, left!' Ca'mil called out as a rogue clump of thread drifted in front of them, Cheryth, ever swift, took them between but not before the thread managed to get in a bite of it's own. Returning to the fight Ca'mil brushed ask off of her dragons neck, relieved to see that the score was little more then a scratch really.

He flamed, burning thread as he returned to his place in the wing. There was still plenty falling, but they would destroy it. All of it. Because they had to.

"Krith!" F'nell saw the thread just before it caught his arm, and then his dragon, and the brown disappeared into between before either of them thought about it. Luckily they were well trained, and returned back.

Do we need to return?
The rider gritted his teeth, breathing deeply. "No, I'll be alright." It wasn't that bad, and there was still thread to fight.

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth: Burn Post
- Storm Riders Wingleader -
It Just. Kept. Coming. Even Calanoth while not tired, was growing weary. His relay of injuries had grown more frequent as half of Trine's fighting force disappeared from their ranks. The larger dragons were having a difficult time trying to keep up and judging from Calanoth's commentary, were becoming reckless in their attempts.
~ Tell them to tighten formation, if Thread Falls past it's up to another wing to catch it. They may not like it but I'd rather not lose anymore men. ~
A quick bugle between bursts of flame and Calanoth repeated Z'fer's message to his wing. While he cared about looking good infront of others, Z'fer cared about the people under his command. Daring heroic's could be saved for another time.

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth : Damage

Another light scoring, a single hole punctured through the middle of Calanoth's mainsail. The flicker between dulled the pain momentarily and Z'fer counted his lucky stars. While they'd taken more hits than last time, So far it had all been small. Calanoth wasn't out of the fight yet.

With some of the blues starting to flag D'lin and Plexith along with the others riding higher colors were forced to cover an even larger amount of air space and while Plexith flamed a great swath through the sky it was impossible for any pair to catch everything that was happening around them no matter how hard they tried.
'Make sure they are all holding position' D'lin urged Plexith, as he looked back at his wing, which was far to spread out for his liking - though it was all but impossible not to be at the moment as they were covering an area meant for almost double the dragons. It was while he was distracted with concern for his riders that he himself felt the bite of thread, Plexith blinking between as soon as he sensed his riders pain.

When they returned D'lin was afraid to look, he could feel the wound over one shoulder and partially down his back..but could only hope that his flight jacket had managed to absorb most of the damage.
'Mine?' Plexith asked, concern edging into his tone.
'Keep going Plexith, I'll be alright' D'lin assured the dragon, thanking the use of thick leather on the flight jackets. He was certain that part of the wound was deep, but it could have been worse.

Ca'mil and Cheryth were doing the best they could, searing thread from the air as it came towards them in what seemed like an unending wave. A brief hint of pain was all Ca'mil got before Cheryth took them between.

Snarling fury Moriath reappeared from between and flamed at a clump of Thread. It seemed as though the fall of Thread would never end! They would prevail, they had to, not only for their duty but... well, those who did not know her and Hers needed to be shown what they could do.

As Moriath spoke a tangle of Thread gusted down towards her. A mental jab from Kleos alerted her to its presence and she rolled aside, only to collide with another strand of the stuff. Hissing in pain the bulky crimson jumped between to shake it off. she assured her rider as they reappeared, feeling the human's surge of concern for her; the silver menace had seared a long line down her back, but it was only a flesh wound.
