Entering school office and heading towards the locker rooms

Leo had gotten a text. It was a pretty vague text as far as texts went, she felt, but she got the gist of it. There really were missing students, Alex knew something about it - and he needed people who were willing to fight for the students captured and their freedom.

Well, Leo was nothing if not willing to put hard work in for a good cause. And really, this seemed like the best kind of cause there could be, saving her schoolmates. If he needed her help, he had it. With that in mind she'd showed up at the school office at the arranged time. Alright, so it was more a-little-past-the-arranged-time-because-she-set-her-skellyphone-alarm-to-the-wrong-time, but whatever. She was here. Alex wasn't.

Which made sense, considering the meeting place was the locker rooms and not the school office, so she figured she'd better get moving. Leo didn't even glance at the other students in the room, quickly moving towards the cabinet and slipping into the hidden entrance. Luckily she already knew the way, and it took considerably less time to catch up to Alex's group than she'd thought it would.

"Hey!" She was a bit out of breath, but her smile was genuine. "There you are, sorry I'm late, had a bit of a skellyphone accident." She took a deep breath and stopped to survey the group. Wow, there were a lot! Some she knew, some she didn't know - Leo threw a smile at all of them. "I'm Leo, for those I haven't met yet. Nice to meet you, despite the circumstances." Her smile dimmed at the thought of the kidnapped students. "Anyway, one mare at your service for the upcoming rescue."

Calder looked down at the rune. "It changes depending on who touches it. It's sensitive to something." Each color for different kinds. Not just demons and monsters, right? But....just each person??

Calder rested his own hand on the rune with the others. "Why would this symbol act this way? Why draw something that changes color? What's the point?" He was very confused.

With his free hand not on the rune, Calder sent out a text.

Text to Christof: We're all assembled in the Office. Something is happening. Where are you?

[Making her way towards Lockers]

Xiu lifted her arms to return the hug, giving the boil a firm, reassuring squeeze around the shoulders. He seemed...tired? Or drained, which was no surprise considering what was going on. Xiu's own body wanted nothing more than to drop in a long, peaceful sleep, but now was definitely not the time. When the zomboil drew back from the hug, she offered him a small smile.

"There's no doubt about that, Alex--we'll get them back for sure. All of them."

Vaith's arrival earned another smile from the ghoul, who moved towards him to give the noise reaper a hug as well. After hearing about who had gone missing...well, she was immensely relieved to see that some of her friends were still safe. She gave him a brief squeeze around the waist before stepping back to let her friends introduce themselves to each other. They would all be working together from here on out, after all.

Though she noticed the peculiar marking on Alex's hand, she was distracted from asking about it when another student arrived. Turning to face the new ghoul, Xiu gave a polite nod of her head, the corners of her lips quirking upwards in a tired, but hopefully still welcoming, smile. "Leo, is it? It's nice to meet you. I'm Xiu."

And now...well, it was probably about time that they get into that locker room again.

"Looks like an inkjar," Jericho murmured while he continued to shake it. He paused for a moment as Levi looked at him rather curiously while he was shaking the bottle. He blinked back at her.

Lockers

A few students had made their way to the locker area now. Mot, Leo, Xiu, and Poke to name a few. Shun looked over the rune on the floor in this room, wondering why it was in both this area as well as the office.

He gritted his teeth at the thought of this or that, recalling some of the things Candace said at the Haunted house. He would prove her wrong. He was going to get her back. While fiddling with the vial in his pocket idly, he wondered if perhaps both runes needed contact at the same time.

Seeing how people were touching the one in the office, he went ahead and stood on the rune in the locker room.

Perhaps that would trigger something else.

'That's because they don't underssssstand you' The "inkjar" whispered back, fondly to Jericho. Unfortunately noone else heard the voice.

The rune etched in the office continued to glimmer in all colours of the rainbow before-

- CRACK-

- The floorboard split around it, the rune dissipating into fine mist.

Those in the locker rooms would also find something a little stranger: the rune on the ground had all but faded away, leaving a simple round trap door.

Of course, it seemed to require a key. The vial that some students found in their lockers and the chalices were now shaking lightly in intervals, as if resonating with something under the door.

Jericho froze and nearly dropped said inkjar as it spoke to him. Inkjars... shouldn't speak. Right? Was this really a minipet? Wait. Minipets didn't talk either. Warily, he eyed the object.

"...Understand me..? And we suppose you do..?" he said slowly.

This dragon. Was talking to an inkjar.

If an inkjar could nod sagely it would have, though there was a distinct impression that it felt incredibly smug. 'She understandssss usssss. Revenge. What elsssse is there but revenge?'

A part of Jericho wanted to throw the apparently possessed inkjar that seemed to have a personality and life of its own.

"There is home. We mussst bring them home," he said. Though, he wasn't really sure who it was the inkjar spoke of. Was it Medea?

"The one you speak of... is it Medea? Or someone else?"

The inkjar seemed to know things. Perhaps he should hold onto it.

In the Office

Well, that was a shame. It might have been nice to have some surprise mechanical backup if in fact something was going down here. West peered around one last time, but when he couldn't find the angry device, he turned to the rune instead. And Levi. When had she gotten here?

He sauntered over to his ghoulfriend and the gathered students, watching as the thing cycled through a whole mess of colors before breaking and disappearing. That was weird. And who was Jericho talking to? West tapped Levi lightly on the shoulder, then pointed at the hole that had led to the lockers the last time and shrugged. Should they? Shouldn't they? There was always that system she had taken from Akithor's locker. Or bed. Not like that. He didn't think he could get to sleep at the moment anyway.

Calder watched the rune dissolve and then looked at his hand. "Seems it can't take much attention." He said, before he jerked. "Ah!" It might have been a bad choice in keeping the jar he got from the box from Kani in his sporran, which was in his lap.

Rising up, he took the vial out and looked as it shook. "What is going on?"

Glancing around, he also spotted Jericho with a vial, and was about to ask where he had gotten his. Lizzy had said she had gotten hers from a box as well. However, this wasn't the same vial Jericho was hold - and Calder wasn't talking to his.

"Jericho..........what are you doing?"

Halfway in the Office, Halfway in the Hallway

Mei stuck her head out of the secret door behind the cabinet. It was taking everyone a very long time to hurry up. What was taking so long?

"Come onnnnnnn guyyysssss...." The Jiang Shi whined lightly. She was ready to go and everyone was still standing around with their hands in their pockets. Her eyes locked on Leo, a toothy grin spreading across her face. "Leo!" Her gaze turned to Xiu, who she'd met in class. "Ah and Xiu too!"

Pulling her head back out of the door way Mei turned on her heels and began to head towards the locker room. Well if they weren't going to hurry up she was going to go on ahead of them. She was ready to get things started. Whatever those things that needed started were.

Roch had a key. Roch slid it into the lock, trying to turn it.

Jericho paused as he heard and saw Calder staring at him like he was crazy.

Well. Actually, he was.

That's beside the point, though.

"SSH. We can't hear it if you keep talking to usss," he grumbled to the Kelpie.
