In the middle of the battle she noticed a couple of familiar faces, and sent them a cheering smile. Eisheth hoped everyone were enjoying this as much, as she did.

That was the moment of awesomeness. Eisheth felt almost berserk, - strangely enough the feeling reminded her the Prom dance, with the world trembling around her, the colours and objects merging together, and the same time her reflexes were as sharp as could be: she could notice every single detail, every sound, every move in this chaos. But a battle, an actual battle with the hunters was much, much better than the dance. In fact, it was the dance, the superior form of it, the alchemist could almost hear the music, the glorious melody of the fight, and she was just swaying, dancing to this melody, bringing pain and terror to those miserable creatures around her. Eisheth noticed a human ghoul who was desperately trying to defend her teammate, and sent the Hell's Welder chain her way.

Seeing the bright light and then hearing her high priestess speak Erintis smiled, oh this would be great. In fact this was something she could actually deal with, watching the hunters die or pledge their allegiances, she really hoped they decided to die.

Mmur turned to Lan as she began to sing, the wildness fading from his eyes for just a moment. Nice song. Nice sentiment. These new hunters would get the same treatment as their bloody, chunky friends. He raised his whip, intending to strike the nearest white-clad human, but before he could join his brethren, the field began to glow.

It was beautiful. So was the sight of writhing hunters.

The horseman smiled, his weapon disappearing as he watched. He strolled between them, eventually making his way to Eisheth's side. Mmur bowed his head slightly. "Having fun?"

Pain ripped through her body for a moment. Nicodemus made some noise in her head she couldn't quite place, but it was still there. Raw. She'd felt something like this before. This was why she ******** hated ponies. She never wanted a pony for her birthday ever again.

She hissed and dropped down to her knees, gritting her teeth as it almost felt like the tonberry was ripped from her head - that protective blanket over her senses...and for the first time, Cass realized how exposed she really could be. The first time in months.

But as Medea spoke, she felt some sort of..familiarity. Like she'd heard it made before. Her eyes turned towards the Priestess and she found herself furrowing her brows. She didn't want to die, but that offer...

'I will not stop you from leaving if you think now is not your time, but my offer is only once. It you turn to leave here, you can never come back again.'

"I denied my easy way out once, and I will deny it again. I am no longer a child - you cannot make me kneel willingly." she answered boldly, making a point to sit up as tall as she could, despite the fact that her death was surrounding her. This could have very well been the end of it.

Harrison deflected the attack from Invi before Rep even managed to notice it, snarling at the heir from where he stood. "That ******** dress guy again" His anger got the better of him once again, faced with his own helplessness and he yelled. "You are STILL a ******** idiot!" It accomplished nothing, but it made him feel better.

He had no idea how the battle was going, everywhere was yelling and the sounds of clashing weapons. It was dark, it was a nightmare, and he was almost helpless in the middle of it all.

And just when he thought things were starting, possibly to look like they were doable, like they could win this thing, something happened. He wouldn't be able to describe it later, the momentary lapse of tranquillity, the castle and then the pain. Pain that was agony beyond even his tolerance, leaving him to drop to his hands and knees. The bracelet suppressed his shield, his weapon, this ripped it away entirely. There was nothing. He was mortal, and he could feel it more acutely than ever before.

He tried to stand up and he couldn't even manage that much. "********." Was it just him? No. It didn't look like it, it wasn't the bracelet, it had been something far greater. "The shields" he hissed in an undertone to Harrison,.

Medea received nothing but his scorn. With his usual lack of self-preservation he snarled in ******** your mercy, just like we ******** your world. "

There was no negotiating with horsemen. He was only sad the vermin still lived, still existed as a reminder of all those failed missions. Someone had ******** up in their extermination. He could only wish he knew who.

And then he was burning, burning into a thousand pieces and all he could feel was pain. A horrible, awful, mind-numbingly terrible pain that seized his entire body, and Gale couldn't think, couldn't breathe. Somewhere in the back of his mind he could still sense Jinhai, but just barely, and he could hear a horrific sort of screaming that overtook his entire mind, filled every corner of his thoughts -

- something shattered -

Let me die. Please let me die.

Silence.

When he came to his senses, he was lying on the ground, his face pressed into the dirt, his entire body aching painfully - but he was still there, and still in one place.

His head was spinning. And he was no longer protected.

...Ginny..?

<< ...I am here, Gale. >>

The dragon's voice wavered in and out, sounding almost as though he were speaking from a far off distance - but he was there, and the relief seeped into Gale almost as tangible as blood. It was short lived; he did not understand what had just happened, only that he had lost something very precious and very important.

The FEAR shield was gone. He felt vulnerable, exposed, weak. And Marcus was out of his line of vision. A heaviness had started to fall into his body; Gale's eyes felt heavier than they should have, and he slowly clenched his fingers together on the ground, drawing them into a weak fist.

Let me go.

I will not give up.

He had already been through this once before - he did not want to go through it again. Not now, not after everything he had already gone through, not after the fight he had struggled so hard to win.

Not again.

"No."

----------------------------------------------------------------

He'd rather hoped to come out of this whole situation without making a mess - but it appeared that that would not be the case this time. Mengyao stood a few feet away from Medea, still examining the sleeve of his newly ruined robe with a rather dismayed expression on his pale face, golden eye glinting. With a soft sigh, he dropped his arm, and tucked one hand into the other sleeve, pushing his shoulders back and standing as majestically as he normally would under the circumstances.

It was too bad that his now-soiled robes would stand out obviously. Irritation flared through him, though Mengyao kept his expression deliberately neutral, a serene smile crossing his lips as he gazed out at the ground, his eyes picking out the still conscious hunters.

Surprising. Some of them had held out quite longer than he had expected. He stepped towards the one he had spoken to before, peering down at her with a mild sort of disinterest, dual colored eyes glinting.

"Having fun, my dear?" he asked lightly, and tilted his head, still smiling. "It's funny, you know...you look quite different from this angle. More...pathetic than you usually are."

He would have stepped on her, but he did not really want to touch her.

"How very interesting."

Bix didn't have the chance to see their priestess or her light show. He was busy fighting, dodging the 'Protector' as she threatened him with fire. He'd been burned before. He'd even met her fire in the past. Bix was acquainted with that pain.

"Ceres what are you.." Moon or not, she was not as strong as he was and she'd taken just as many hits as he had.

Neither of them had the chance to react when the world exploded into white. He was being torn apart, flesh torn away, his skin ripped down to muscle down to bone down to nothing...

And then there was a heel in center of his back, digging and pushing, twisting. Oh he was alive, he was intact, and the b***h of a horsewoman had him pressed into the ground like a servant.

His red eyes flashed bitterly to her, wincing as the recovering stab wound ached on his side and the spiked heel worked its way against his spine.

He didn't speak but he fought to keep his eyes open, to hold on to his resolve as he spied Ceres' legs next to him as well as the legs of the fancy pants horsemen with the bow.

"s**t.."

<I am here, dove.>

It hurts, Nona. This pain, I've never .. I can't ..

<Do not give in, my sweetling. Stay with your Nona.>

Is this .. is it over?

<Never. It is never over, little bird.>

The searing pain in her mind was the most intense pain she'd ever felt - second only to the pain she'd experienced when confronted with the famine huntress. Never had she experienced anything like this before in her life, and yet, even as she lay writhing on the ground - gritting her teeth in agony - Sasha bared her teeth and muttered a low, guttural word.

"Never."

Control. If nothing else, she would have control over this; her death, should it come today, would be on her terms - and she would not kneel before these pests. Come what may - hell or high water - Sasha's last and final action would not be one of submission. Never again. Her entire life had been full of following the rules and regulations laid out before her.

Never again.

Three steps carried her swiftly over to the red head, it took even less time for her hand to pull back and strike him with the backside across his face. How dare he say that, how dare he mock the head priestess when she gave him that offer.

How dare he mock the memory of her sisters.

"Silence your mouth human, that was for my sisters, and for the disrespect you bring to our elders." In her other hand a black handled axe with a silver head suddenly appeared. "And be glad I strike with flesh and not my axe. Now kneel before we make you kneel"

The moment he stepped through the portal there was fighting. Nothing new, but the near impossible darkness made him edgy and on the defensive. Before he had a moment to even summon Tenya, the world was shattering, light piercing all around them. It burned.

Otto crumbled into himself, knees finding the ground all too quickly as he felt his skin burn, peel. His physical being, being torn and ripped.

That's how it felt, but soon that nauseating pain was replaced. He wasn't burned or torn, but he knew that something was wrong. He felt heavy, he could barely hold himself up, his hands digging into the ground.

His blue eyes never left his hands, not until the priestess started making her demands, or what she insisted was a fair offer.

He leaned back, letting himself fall onto his rear with his hands behind him. He knew he was vulnerable. Mortal. But they only took his fear shield, they only took what served as false immortality. They didn't take his will power. He'd never let their magic take that away again.

I won't bow. I won't submit. If I die, I'm sorry, Tenya. He murmured mentally to his weapon.

She did not evan have time to respond, let alone time to ask questions as the runes blossomed and filtered the ground beneath their shoes. Then everything was suddenly illuminated, she made the wrong decision and looked around to try and see whatever was making that light.

Big Mistake.

Where the light touched her flesh it was suddenly burning. A burning sensation that would have been similar to pouting molten metal on her, if she had to compare it to something. Her fingernails felt like they were ripped free. body bleeding all over as her skin melted away.

It...it hurts.

She mentally said as that light tore away layers of her body. Skin, Muscle, Sinew... it went on and on until all that was left was the bare bones of her being.

Only then did the lights embrace let her go, let her fall to the ground next to the Albino. The coolness of the earth felt good against what her mind told her was seared skin, but it was short lived as a pair of feet came in to sight. Turning her head some she waited for her vision to focus, staring up at the form of Mengyao. He still had torn clothing, but looked jsut as he did when she left him. "You don't...look no better from this angle either. Still ugly." The woman quipped back, her breathing ragged and her voice hoarse. This was her own stubborn streak shining through, Bix would remember this same reaction from their spar as well. Even if it meant she were to die, she would go down fighting.

Never give up.

She wondered what the 'heir' was doing to Bix to cause such noises from him, but turning her head was a labor and she just did nothave the energy. Her body still hurt and tingled all over. She only knew he was there because she heard the fall so close to her, and he was closest from before.

Alva stood magnanimously over the sprawled hunters. The power of the death priestesses were great, the horsemen still possessed their might. This had been easy, too easy. If only they'd had this power when they had wormed their way into the heart of their world, they could have cast them out without hesitation.

He didn't like that they had to wait, had to stay their hand for the time being, but the priestess had enabled them to end this battle, it was only honourable that she be afforded the time to remind them of their helplessness.

What could they hope to achieve when they stood against beings born to destroy their very species?

!!!!!!!! B0nez was flashing hazard lights. Dodge, dodgeroll! he shrieked. ← → ← → ← → ← → He pressed back and forth furiously.

Harrison was locked up with pain, being stripped of nerve and muscle, pupils constricting sharply from the atomic blast of light and heat, and when he strained to open his eyes, to see, he saw blackened skeletons- no - no - until even that crumbled into nothing, and the pain, why was there still so much pain...

I'm out, I'm down, B0nez said.

Harrison got the distinct impression in his head of B0nez throwing a keyboard.

It was familiar, at least. Everything came back into clarity with aching, muffled confusion, B0nez a heavy strain on his arms. He could feel the sweat trickling down his face. He realized, distantly, he was on the ground. Human. s**t.

Not just him, either.

"Gone," he answered Rep.

He gritted out a laugh into the dirt, "Disrespect, s**t, we just want to all go to your island for drinks later. There's a lot to drink at the bottom of the ******** ocean."

Tseng had been knocked down, kicked swiftly by the female hunter. He noticed Soren coming to his aid, and he offered the death horseman a smile in turn. After Medea had made her move, he got back to his feet, grinning to the one with the fancy shoes.

"Fools! You seriously thought you can mess with us and not receive your retribution? Kneel and perhaps the justice we deliver will be swift!" he boasted to Candace as he stood tall (relatively.. considering his height) before her.

Deryk could hardly remember who had struck him when and where before he found himself screaming in pain and being blinded by some brilliant light. It was all just too much. But it soon let up on him, causing him to double over while trying to recover. He felt weak now. It didn't take him long to realize that he could easily be killed at this point.

Bow down to the horsemen?

The hunter might not have really agreed with everything his faction did, but... he couldn't just give up here. No. There were still plenty of real dangerous monsters out there that needed to be taken down.

"No. Not gonna bow down. Can't do that. Nope."

Before Candace knew it she was nearly blind, her eyes unused to the bright light that suddenly filled the area. She hissed and stumbled back away from the horseman she was pinning, one arm flying up to cover her eyes while her free hand reached to cover Cass', turning to the girl and doing her best to cover her. The wind had her flinching, waiting for it to get worst. For the explosion to hit them. That's what this was, right? Just like back at the horsemen isles? They were exacting revenge on them in a similar fashion to ho..how the..ir..

The pain hit Candace so hard she wanted to throw up. She released Cass and fell to her hands and knees, coughing and whimpering in a desperate attempt to keep herself from straight up crying and getting sick. She gripped the ground beneath her, breathing in desperate pants to keep herself under control. It hurt. It hurt so bad. Atropos!? Why wasn't Atropos helping her?! Why was she letting this happen?!

I..I'm trying! Candace I'm trying I can't do it! I'm trying I promise! Atropos sounded genuinely apologetic. Candace lowered her head, biting back a loud cry of agony. This was just like that time they had encountered the Horseman of Conquest, where his very presence had nearly killed them, only without the crushing of air around her. This was different. It was like...a part of her was being ripped away. Finally it went away and she collapsed to the ground on her side, panting heavily and draping a heavy arm over her face. Her limbs felt like they were made of lead. She felt...weaker. ...Candace? Came Atropos' meek call. Candace groaned. Candace..uh...my shield...it's--

"You...b***h." Candace snarled, slowly rolling onto her stomach. She winced. She moved slower than she liked, pushing herself up to sit on her knees and then finally getting up onto shaky feet. She swayed, stumbling forward as her body demanded down. It had been so long since she had been without a Fear shield, over a year now, that it felt strange. Candace did not like this feeling.

"You are a fool..to think...we'll ever bow down to you." She continued, fists clenched. Standing was an agonizing amount of effort, her body wanted her to sit. She refused. A glare was cast to the horseman that was speaking to her. "I'm going to take great pleasure in ending your life, pony boy."
