As a pain shot through her sides, Resi awoke with eyes wide open. Blinking in surprise, she turned her head to glance at her stomach since that's where it appeared to be coming from. As time went on and the pain got more intense, she winced and then it was all over. Head resting on the ground as sides heaved in and out with each breath, she closed her eyes. The hard part was over.
After a few moments of rest, she raised her head and was greeted with the side of two little baskets, which was brought by her caretaker while she was resting. Smiling, she moved her head closer to inspect both of them before giving each a nuzzle.
Ears flicked at the commotion some distance away. It sounded happy...did someone else give birth as well? That's what the black widow was thinking while she laid on the ground with the baskets right beside her. As she was itching to get up and about, a certain instinct made her stay put and gain back her lost strenght.

Settia smiled at Ayita's good news and remembered when she had her first foals. She turned to look at her children who were sleeping not far from her. Both grown now, it made a tear come to her eye to see them grown up now. She remembered all of the times that Jazz had run away from her and how worried she had been. Now he was old enough to go off on his own. It wouldn't bee too long before he found himself a mate or had foals of his own.
Settia shook her head and tried not to think too far into the future. To her, Jazz, Tori and Fenrir were still young foals playing and romping around. She smiled and made a mental note congradulate Ayita once she was well recovered from having her foals.

Alona heard Cyrus's call introducing the new foals. Keeping an eye out where Resi had headed she went over to meet Ayita, as well as her mate Tamia, and her new young ones. She gave her a quick smile as well as a nod of reassurance. Ayita was too tired out to be bothered at the moment, so Alona kept an eye out for any nosy foals who would dare to get too close to her. She needed rest.
Alona trotted over to Cyrus and gave him a nuzzled but did not stay long, she wanted to keep an eye out for Resi. She had disappeared quietly and Alona knew that she was going to give birth, but she didn't want to lose Resi anywhere, and she really did not want to leave her all alone with no strength. As well she was still waiting on Kanti to return. She remained on the outskirts of the herd, listenging for Resi as well as Kanti.

After a nice, long rest the black widow's ear flicked back and forth as Alona's scent drifted towards her. Blinking a few times and letting out a yawn, why was she lying on the ground?! Oh right, she just finished having her foals. Crimson eyes widen as she whipped her head and behold a sight for her to see. Two baskets, though one would go under Verloren's care and the other would stay under her care. A large smile slowly spread across her features as it seemed all but a dream to the mare. Touching each basket with her nose, to make sure they wouldn't just up and disappear, she turned to nicker softly.
Alona was close and she longed to see someone, anyone she was familiar with. Plus, she was clueless! What was she supposed to do now with the little baskets? Would they hatch soon? Are her foals alright? A million and one thoughts raced through her mind as she was now a mom. Shaking her head, she just let the breeze gently blow her mane and hoped to see Alona and soon thoughts of nipping the mare's mane filled her head, but not before she snuck another glance at her baskets.

Cyrus looked about when Resi and Alona were both out of site. He started to get nervous and Taima was with Ayita so he got up and let a low call escape his throat. His eyes looked around worridly...((Is that even a word? xd )) His ears flickered, the herd seemed to be sound asleep yet Resi and Alona were gone.

Alona continued in Resi's direction. She spotted the mare soon enough. She gave out a low knicker to her to see if she could come any closer. Alona didn't want to approach her without permission, it wouldn't be right.
She could hear Cyrus's call, and knew he must have noticed them missing. She didn't make a sound. Her ears where waiting on Resi's reply.

With Alona's nicker, Resi felt relief wash over her. Crimson eyes gazed forward as she called out the female's name. "Alona...Come and see!" Inviting the female to come over, she wanted company, especially Alona's. A smile lit up her features as she motioned to the two baskets lying beside her. It wouldn't be long now before they opened and two little foals would emerge from them.
It wasn't long before ears turned to the low call emitted from Cyrus. Her tail flicked on the ground as she was still lying down but knew without a doubt it was Cyrus! Her smile grew as she'd get to show him her foals as well.

Alona noticed the small little baskets near Resi. She gave out a large smile as she trotted closer to the mare.
When Alona reached the baskets she nuzzled them in happiness for Resi. The would emerge soon and Alona knew there would look beatiful. Alona looked at Resi and gave her a large smile. She was happy for her, how could she not be.
"Congrats Resi, how are you feeling" she said knowing the mare was probably still a little weak from the birth. Alona would stay with her until Resi feel well enough to stand.

Waking well rested and feeling much more like her old self Ayita left her baskets in the possesion of their father long enough to make her way over to Resi to offer her congratulations to the other new mother before coming back to tend to the baskets.

Once Alona was there, Resi was beaming as the mare touched her baskets. And, another mare who she has yet to meet came over to give her congradulations and Resi returned them. The painted mare had baskets of her own too!
If looks could say anything, "I'm doing much better now! Cyrus can't say I'm big." She giggled at the though, though she knew that he just teased her. Speaking of which, is he close by? Hopefully, she'd like to see him too. "I hope they come out soon, fluffy manes and all!" Oh yes, she'd get to nibble on their manes.

"Thank you, your little ones are beautiful as well." The painted mare repled to the complement on her baskets.
Looking around Ayita shook her head. I'm sorry I haven't seen Cyrus since he watched over my baskets so I could sleep. I'm sure he's around here somewhere though. And your right, it will be nice not having to carry the foals around everywhere we go."
"I think once the little ones are out of their baskets I am going to go for a good long run. It will be wonderful to move at a normal gait again. I felt like a chipmunk with too many nuts in his mouth as if they would spill out at any moment." Ayita replied with a smile. "Oh by the way my name is Ayita, It's a pleasure to meet you. Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier." Ayita figited a little feeling the need to check on her baskets.

And then daws fingers spread over the meadow...(XD a.k.a morning)
Cyrus was out and about wondering aimlessly as usual. His head poked out from the brush checking on the herd. He then jumped out of teh brush to see who was awake. He had seen Ayita, Alona and Resi gathered around something as as curious as he is he went to check it out.

Ayita greeted Cyrus when she saw him come over, but was distracted by her need to get back to her own baskets. Wickering her fair well she wandered back to Tiama and the three little ones he was watching over.
Back near her brood Ayita curled up around the baskets after inspecting each one to make sure it was ok. It wasn't that she didn't trust Taima to take good care of them. It was just that this was her first time as a mother and she didn't want to do anything wrong.
Growing up with a twolegger for a mother hadn't prepared her for motherhood very well and Ayita was very glad for the company of the other mares in the herd. With so many who had been mothers before her she would have plenty of help should she need it. It was a warming thought to know she had others around her to support her that she in turn could support.
Ayita loved Foalen, but as a two legger there was only so much they could do for eachother. She would always stay near him. But it was wonderful to have those around her she could comuincate with easily who knew what her trials were because they shared them.

Settia woke up and looked around her. Not to far away she noticed Ayita standing by some baskets that she could only guess were hers. She smiled remembering when her own folas were still young. Tiredly she got up and stretched, making her way over to the new mother. "Morning!" she called cheerfully to Ayita as she walked over.

As the day went by, Resi was resting next to her basket and slightly away from the group. Munching on the sweet grass, she was chewing thoughtfully before a movement came from her basket. Blinking, she turned to look at the green basket questioningly. Was something wrong? Tilting her head, she nudged it softly and out came a hoof. Snorting and drawing her head back, she watched in amazement as her little son was born.
At the nudge to his home, Nioka sturred and felt the need to stretch, and when he did, he no longer was in his baske. But, out lying on the cool ground with the sun beaming down on him and his mother standing right next to him.
