Litha took a deep breath of his scent before he let her go and went back to his regular perch on the windowsill. She looked at him from across the room, frozen. "No, honestly it doesn't make any sense, I don't know what I was thinking," she said, again too rushed. He was going to be able to see right through that one, too.

Litha closed her eyes. His touch was incredible, even the slightest touch made her float. She opened her eyes and met his gaze, knowing full well that her sadness was visible on her face. "I don't care about you," was all she said. Her tone gave away her lie - she'd done it on purpose. All she'd done was tell him exactly what she'd told herself, exactly how she said it to herself in her mind.

Litha hated this - how she could get drunk off his voice and feeling him close to her and then it had to end so suddenly every time. Her entire right side where he'd whispered in her ear and kissed her cheek were on fire. She wanted to follow him and throw herself at him again, and this time not stop, ever. Frustrated, she ran a hand through her hair and pondered what he'd said. "What is that supposed to mean?" she asked. "That you might feel hostile towards me like I feel hostile towards you or you might care about me like I care about you?" She chose her words carefully. She did often feel hostile towards him, and she knew she did care about him, so both statements were true.

Litha was mentally kicking herself. She couldn't stop thinking she had made a horrible mistake - he would never care for her. There were just too many things stacked up against her. The beautiful dead vampire sister who was probably extremely beautiful, the fact that she was human, and the fact that, according to Meizu, everyone who got involved with him was killed. Wonderful.

She smiled sadly. "What are you always looking at out the window, anyway?" she asked, trying to lighten up the mood. She walked over and took a seat opposite him on the windowsill.

Litha smirked and flicked his head. "Oh, hush, you're not a beast. You just get hungry sometimes," she said playfully. She glanced out the window, looking for these random girls Meizu talked about, feeling a little possessive. I bet they'd kill to be where I am now, she thought wickedly. If only they knew how impossible he is. She pulled her legs up to her chest and leaned her head against the window. "I wouldn't kiss a beast," she said, smiling.

Litha blushed a little when she realized Meizu knew what she was looking for outside. Damn, not so smooth there Lith. "I kind of like the sound of that. Being your 'prey' - it's like I'm actually important to your existence," she said, sort of sarcastically and sort of not.

Once again, Litha craved more - he coudn't just tease her like that and act like nothing had just happened. It took her a moment to regain her composure but she did it, and subconsciously crossed her legs. "I don't know, I don't have an answer to that... You intrigue me," she said simply. "There's nothing to it... But what about you? Why haven't you bled me dry yet? Why are you keeping me alive?"
