Jasmine nodded. "My mom isn't happy," she said quietly. "I'm probably gonna be sent home today. I'm not too badly hurt. I just lost alot of blood. Did...I scare you Neil?" She was very weak and just wanted to close her eyes but she fought it.

Neil placed his hand onto her's and gave it a genital squeeze. He said "Avarice isn't to happy about this either. He particular didn't like waiting outside." He was quiet a moment before adding "You did lose a lot of blood. You need to rest some more."

Neil shrugged his shoulders slightly before saying "Not really. Although I could try to figure it out, but it would be simpler if you just tell me what it was you didn't want to say."

Jasmine shook her head. "I won't say it," she said. "You probably won't take me seriously anyway since, well, you know how I am."

Neil was quiet a moment before he asked "Take what seriously, your feelings for me?" He figured that was what she was hinting at and avoiding at the same time. He picked up the details here and there that hinted towards that, so he decided to ask it and see the reaction he would get.

Jasmine opened her eyes. "Yes," she said softly. "I thought you'd figure it out. After all, I haven't tried to hide it very well."

"No you haven't" Neil told her as he looked at her. He waited a moment before he let go of her hand and glanced around the room. "I should probably check on Avarice." He moved closer to the door but he paused at the door. He said without turning around "Yes I would take it seriously, because I feel the same about you." After he said that he slipped out to go check on Avarice.

Jasmine blinked. She hadn't expected it at all. She couldn't believe what he had just said. Avarice was sitting right beside the door, growling at a man that was trying to enter. He wasn't going to let him by.

"Easy there Avarice. What do you got?" Neil asked Avarice as he bent down and patted him. He looked up after a moment towards the man that he was growling at. He waited to hear what the man would say and how he would react.

"I was hoping he'd like me but it seems I was wrong," the man muttered. "I'll have to finish it later I suppose." He turned and left. Avarice relaxed and licked Neil's face.

That was odd. Neil thought as he scratched Avarice's head. He thought of the words that he said. He wasn't a doctor, that much is sure.....Then who? He quickly glanced up after the man as he realized who must be, but he was gone. So close to him and yet I didn't see it. He stayed there another moment or two, before slowly getting up and heading back towards Jasmine.

Jasmine flinched as her mother stormed out of the room. She had yelled and lectured as usual and told Jasmine she was going to be released that day. Jasmine was just staring at her hands, fighting back her own emotions.

Neil hung at the end of the hall and waited until Jasmine's mother was around the corner until he continued to her room. That isn't good. It is almost never good when those two are in the same room. He reached the door and knocked on the frame and looked at Jasmine as she laid there on the hospitable bed.

Jasmine looked up and tried to smile. She could feel the tears building in her eyes but she held then back, she always did. Anyway it wasn't like he knew the truth about the role she had played at one time. Her mother, however, did. Jasmine knew if she messed up one more time her life would be over.
