Why is Marth wearing a mask?
He hides it in shame for failing his kingdom.
He's not really Marth, he's just claming to be him.
Hey, it worked for Camus, right?
  Because he's A GIRL
IS ROY IN THIS GAME TOO?
  This is a bad idea.

...........Am I really the only person on the face of Earth who listened to what Mr. Stern Face guy was saying? He said they were continuing tomorrow. I'm PRETTY sure. But now that everyone else has seemed to not have heard it, I'm starting to think I'm crazy!

I do believe he was talking about E3

People can rage on that all day, but I think it's combos are for the better... sorta needed a primary Lance footie. (Now, let's hope for Donny's sake, the last DLC class is the Master Knight with all 6 weapon types)

(Also... funny thing-- according to topics on SF regarding it... Eirika apparently is only a "Bride" because... that gives her superpowers. "Huh? This dress...?
No, I wasn't in a middle of a wedding ceremony..." - Eirika... haha.. she sees it as what it is: a Superclass.)

*shrug* I'm not going to complain about it having one weapon over another, I think the superclasses are dumb in general.

Still sad we don't get the sexy blue 3ds though for this.

...Gotta say, Anouleth from SF makes me sad and angry....
Moron actually supports cutting content in the localization-- namely n_n.

Leads me to ask: FEF: What do you think of that?
True, the rage is old, but with FEA getting a US release confirmed, how should Ninty handle it? (Ya know, the whole Loli Dragon issue?)

Personally, I'm hoping they leave poor Nono alone (course, they won't, sadly, but Nintendo won't lose face), and translate n_n as "Soso" (viable... wrong, yes, but viable)... I'd say worst case scenario is Anouleth having his way and n_n gets cart-locked or dummied out/deleted.

I've been seeing you on the SF forums (only other FEFer I ever see there besides you being Lolwut).

Personally, I'd prefer giving the game a T rating and be done with it. The whole unit confession thing, making pairings for making babies, attempts at suicide, etc... A T rating would mean less censorship in general. Is a E10 REALLY going to deter a younger crowd or attract more players? I would think not. I always enjoy the fact that playing FE on translated ROMs meant I was getting the real thing instead of a censored American version from FE4-6 (trying FE3 soon), but I DO highly doubt Nono will be left untouched. Her face itself isn't particularly prepubescent, just her body. I don't think they'd outright take her out of the game though. I also dislike the name "n_n"; it looks more like an emoticon than a name and would prefer "Soso".

What would upset me MORE than censorship, though (and censorship ALWAYS upsets me), would be not getting particular SpotPass and DLC content simply because certain games were never released in the West. Like not even having the chance to get Levin and the like. THAT would be upsetting.

Meanwhile, SpotPass Lyn is a Myrmidon and so is Eirika. So There. Their representation, or authenticity, or whatever you want to call it for the series, has been preserved.

Also, some of the unit choices for Sacred Stones and Blazing Sword are peculiar to me. I'm not upset or enthralled with them either way, and think they mostly fit, but things like inserting Moulder and Marisa (maybe they're popular in Japan?) seem awkward at least. I'd have thought Joshua would've been higher on the list for insertion than Marisa, for example.

And the skills for Bride ARE pretty cool. It's a very well rounded class, actually. They're support oriented but in an aggressive way.

I hope to high heaven that Nono and n_n stay put where they are. I've brought this up before myself when I stumbled across This one day, and appreciated it. FE's little dragons have always been interesting to me, as they've always been able to do different things with each one. I really like Tiki as a character and think she is the most interesting, obviously. I have been trying to avoid looking at heavy details regarding FE13's script, but I do have that link I had posted, and I know what Nono's outfit looks like... That much is clear. I'd think that if the FE11 OA of Tiki got the OK (even though it is ick), Nono's outfit will as well, though honestly I don't like it either. Altering the original design would leave a bad taste in my mouth, still. If anything is to be done to the dialogue, I'd think they would either lighten it up a bit they way they did with Erika and Ephraim's conversations, or just slap on a T rating and call it a day. FE games have been rated T before. I really, really doubt they would go so far as to dummy the characters out. I gotta see these discussions.

I was slow on the uptake. Marth and Roy being kept in Super Smash Bros by the localizers, even though they considered taking them out, was what got Fire Emblem in the heads of American players in the first place. That fact alone makes me doubt they'd take out japan only FE characters from DLC and Spotpass.

....Am I just not understanding the issue with Nono or her daughter? Because I really don't see anything wrong with them. They're certainly no different than any other dragon in the series.

Also, I do hope n_n gets changed. Text smileys are not names, Nono. Bad. Bad girl.

The game isn't even worthy of T as-is. The way the ESRB is, it's never getting higher than a T-- even with the controversy.

No one wants them cutting Spotpass and DLC. Which, would royally suck for all sides concerned- Nintendo loses free money, we lose content. It's perfectly fine that they Mother3 us with stuff-- FE2/4/5 are old, it's water under the bridge.

I suppose it takes an eye that can attempt to see from the trolls' PoV.

Really comes down to Nono having a daughter in the first place (remember, there are fans who think Jaffar/Nino is creepy/***** (really, I think they're all irked Erk/Nino fans))... Nono doesn't just look young (like every other dragon in the series, except the ones in the Tellius games... and Bantu) she acts that way too. Add in the whole "You are your MU" concept and it begins to take a form. n_n doesn't get hate for being herself, she gets hate because someone made her exist.

Some people seem to act all like "It's *****!" And I certainly can see why some stupid uneducated misinformed people who are outside the loop (E.G. "Mrs. Concerned Mother #2894" from whocaresville, FL. who then goes and tells FOX News or something) could interpret it that way. (Of course, any publicity for FE is good... having it explode on national TV... it's *not* going to get the game off shelves- except by curious people buying it. (AKA: it's not pulling a GTA:SA... ever))

I see, I guess I can see how people unaware of Fire Emblem could react. Though I'd like to think it only takes a shred of intelligence to look into her and become aware that she's probably way over 100 years old...

I mean, does it look odd that a very young looking girl is getting married and having a kid? Yeah, but 1) It's a medieval setting, and girls were married off all the time at young ages, 2) Even if she WAS as young as she looked, there's nothing, as far as I know, saying that her mate didn't wait until she got a little older before baby making, and 3) There's some young guys in our cast. It's the players' choice whether Nono is paired with somebody young or somebody older. There's no set canon.

But anyway, since things like Jaffar/Nino never attracted any attention, I highly doubt it will amount to anything. Just stupid people being stupid, making stupid jokes about it because they're stupid.

On the rating subject, I do disagree with you, I think the game is very well deserving of T the way it is. Dark cult, undead monsters, the personalities of some of our characters (looking a lot at Inverse), the baby making system in general... Though, Sacred Stones isn't T and it has the bloody "demon king". I am fairly conservative.

The "Over 100 years old" excuse really shouldn't hold salt, as far as I'm concerned. They're kids. They act like kids. Nono's not the first one to act like a kid, and none of the little girls act like they're adults. I don't want to see sexual art splattered all over Pixiv of kids who aren't mature mentally as well as physically. Cultural differences might play in, sure. But people do it.

I agree with your second and third points most of all, Rath. The first one I think is a little debatable, not because they didn't do it in medieval times but because this game isn't being judged by people in the medieval times. But it is still the player's choice,

But that's something I've always thought, and it hasn't gotten in the way of me enjoying the games themselves. I don't support censoring this stuff at all. I really don't think the possible ***** undertones should scare Nintendo away from even putting Nono in the game... They might make some sort of excuse or change some dialogue around, but not putting her in the game is too much. You get misinformed mommies complaining all the time. If people can complain about something like Minecraft encouraging practicing the dark arts, FE's not safe as it is. It's a series about war that all sorts of crazy magic and stuff, plus incestuous undertones in places.

I brought up that article because I actually liked that the game addressed that this stuff could exist. Because it does. Really, I think that if there's any issue, they'll change the dialogue to be more ambiguous if they don't directly want n_n saying "I'm the child of a child!" if that even is the case. I don't even think they'd directly avoid the issue.

@ FD: I kinda loled when you wrote about cuing people's complaints about the Bride's weapons. I will admit that I'm sad that the Bride doesn't use swords just to match Eirika's original class, but I'm lightly amused that's she's following Ephy's "path." >>;

@ Marth: OMG! A wild Marth! Where have you been? ;3;

@ Everyone about the Nono's issue: We're still on that issue? I thought it's pretty understandable how the NA view the appearance of "young child" being married and having a kid. It's pretty taboo in the NA and the society is pretty dead set against ***** topics. sweatdrop However, I agreed with you about the issue. Nono is a dragon and dragons age very slowly and live longer than humans are. I will agree that even if they change the dialogue, it will not be easy to remove the coding of Nono getting married and having a child. The only way they can do is either not released it in the NA or just keep it as it is (or change the dialogue.)
