Shun couldn't help but twitched slightly at the mention of going for the eyes due to his recent injury. Other than that, he didn't make a face or say anything on it. Her words did ring true after all. He continued to look it over the finished blade a little more as she gave a little more advice. They were all good things to keep in mind when in a fight.
"Thank you," he said while bowing his head slightly. Looking at the leather belt of sorts that she had crafted, he found himself curious of what it was for exactly. It didn't seem as though he was about to find out.
Nodding to the clanswoman, he watched her fly on off before looking around. He could test out the new blade on the target, but he felt it would be better to hang onto it in the meantime. The Reaper could use it as a sort of guideline for his future attempts here. And maybe have a little souvenair of his time at the island... granted it didn't end up getting confiscated. He was going to need to hide it away somewhere most likely.
But for now, he just went to find something to wrap the blade in for later. He didn't want to end up accidentally cutting himself after all.
Turning towards the others in the area, he asked, "Did you guys catch all of that?"

The Toxic CaveSometimes you just end up in places not really… good for scaring. Or just not good for one’s health. Which oddly enough, can be a toxic cave filled with noxious gas. Sent down an elevator, students wait at the bottom as they are sealed in. Even those who can fly find they must go down…to get back up. Several outposts exist in the cavern to make sure that no one ends up dead, horsemen having taken a certain mixture that allows them temporary immunity. A clank and a light purple gas starts to fill the room. The test has begun, so students better start to run!Quote: Rules: -Running out of HP means game over, regardless of any saves you might have -If your student falls into two or more of the automatic HP reductions, please only apply one! You may ignore the others. -If you use a save start at the place you left off Stage 1 RNG 1-3 in your FIRST post. Subtract one to see how many lives you have. (IE get a 2, subtract 1 you have 1 save) Stage 2 Running, the hall ends in a pit. You need to descend into the thick of the poison haze to go further. But- it’s hard to see where it might be safe. Thick ropes hang from the ceiling and rocks just from the sides. Roll 1 d4 to advance! 1- You grab the rope and slide your way down but ouch! Rope burn! -5 HP 2- You try to go down the walls… and make it! Better move though the gas is thick down here! 3- You jump down… not the best idea. -10 HP 4- You try the walls but miss a step, falling you end up knocked out (Fail) If your a student that can fly/has wings in any form, you take an automatic -5 HP Stage 3 Running down yet another hall, you have to dive into a pool of dark water and swim through a tunnel. Roll 1 d6 to see what happens. 1- You manage to swim quickly and reach the other side just in time! 2- Fish bones dig into you, slowing you down and making you swallow some water! -10 HP 3- Weird. It feels like- Uh oh. You somehow managed to end up at a dead end. No time- you fall back and the gas overtakes you(Fail) 4- Something brushes past your body but lucky enough, you make it to the other side. 5- You try swimming up too soon and bump your head! -5 HP 6- Something bit you, but you can’t tell what, -5 HP If your student is aquatic, or fire based -5 HP automatically Stage 4 The path seems to be getting smaller, looks like you’ll have to crawl you way out but- which path do you take? Roll 1 d8. 1 and 3- You run into a spider who bites you for a nasty sting! -10 HP 2 and 4- You end up taking a wrong turn and hit your head! -10 HP 5 and 7- You managed it somehow to crawl you way to the next room, which has yet to be filled with that gas 6 and 8- You get lost and get…sleepy… (fail!) If your natural form is bigger than that of an average dog, take -5 HP Stage 5 The last part of the tunnel! You can see light at the end but- It seems that in order to get there, you’ll have to beat the doors that are closing, trying to trap you in the poison caverns! Just as you make it to the end- the door slams down, leaving you stuck. You’ll have to break your way through! Roll to attack! For each miss -10 HP, you may keep going until you break free or pass out. You only need to hit the door once. For year 3, you must subtract 8 versus the normal 6! It seems the horsemen expect a bit more from you. POINTS DISTRIBUTION [ Horsemen Points Distribution: ] (Select only one option based on your results) TO OBTAIN 1 HORSEMEN POINT: You get to stage 1 or 2 of the cave TO OBTAIN 2 HORSEMEN POINTS: You get to stage 3 or 4 of the cave TO OBTAIN 3 HORSEMEN POINTS: You get to stage 5 or PASS the cave

Calder had been all for going to the ground, which meant that the moment he heard there was an elevator heading down, he was ready to jump on. Sure, it was rickety, but which elevators here weren't? He was just ready to wander the ground level for a while. Go for a run maybe? Maybe he could even find the ocean and take a dip!
When the elevator opened, it was not to a lush forest. Instead, it was dark, and it smelled horribly. What was even that purple stuff floating along the ground.
Covering his nose, he stepped back and looked around, before trying the button for the elevator. It wasn't working.

Stage 2:
The gas was getting stronger, and his nose stung from the smell. As the purple smoke curled around his feet, he moved down the hallway quickly to get out in search of fresher air. If the situation couldn't have been bad, it got worse when he noticed the hallway lead to a pit. Great. Just what he asked for.
The smog was even stronger here, but there was no other way. There were ropes hanging down, but all of them looked sturdy, ready to break loose or to send rocks toppling after them. Considering their lack in stability, he decided just to jump down. There was more control in it after all, and looking through the smoke, it looked close enough.
Gripping the side, he hopped down, and rolled when his legs hit the ground that was much farther down that he anticipated. Hissing, he started to cough as he inhaled the smoke and slowly got up, feeling an ache in his legs.
"Watch your step, Shun." He called up.

Shun wasn't too far behind. He had heard a thing or two about this cavern, so he knew to be careful. But over all, he didn't know what to expect. He went on down the elevator, sneering a bit as he could see the gasses in the room.
Well this was promising.

Stage 2
The Reaper made his way through the hall, stopping as there was suddenly a pit at the end. Stopping, he looked around carefully, trying not to breathe in too many of the fumes. There was even more of the miasma down below, so he was going to need to watch himself.
After watching Calder jump in, followed by hearing some pained hissed and a warning, he let out a sigh and shook his head to himself. Looking around, he decided to move down the side of the wall instead. That seemed like.. a somewhat safer route. He was sure to keep his balance as he moved through.
Before too long, he was down with the Kelpie at the bottom.
"Are you alright?" he asked quietly while waving away some of the haze. They better not linger for long.

Stage 3:
"I'm fine. Just didn't expect it to be that far down." he rubbed his knees, knowing that he'd probably be paying for that fall throughout the day. "Better see if there is a way out of here to get some fresh air." Calder was walking a lot more slowly as his legs hurt from the fall, but as if to reward him, he was introduced to a pool of water. FINALLY some water. He was looking to take a swim since forever.
"Oh good. This cave isn't all that bad." Purple smoke and pits aside. "Ready to take a dip?" He asked Shun.
((Roll to figure out rp for this round first.))

Stage 3 "Hopefully there's some up ahead."
Coughing from some of the smoke, Shun made his way through with Calder, keeping an eye out for anything dangerous. The Kelpie was limping a bit right now, so he was being even more wary of their surroundings. When they came upon the pool of water, he just frowned. The pool looked deeper than what he could wade through.
"I'm fine. But...." he trailed off for the moment. He hated to admit these sort of things. Really hated it.
"I can't swim," he grumbled. Looking into the water, he tried to see if there was some way he could get around that issue. His abilities were on lockdown, so he couldn't just shadowstep to the other side.

Calder stared at Shun a moment before he snickered. "Sorry. I keep forgetting that no everyone can swim. It's just very weird to me." His entire was BORN in the water. To not swim was like not being able to walk!
Thinking, he looked at the water and wished he could just shift. That way he could have carried him across.
Actually, that wasn't entirely out of the question.
Stepping forward, he knelt down and patted his back. "I'll carry you across. Kay?"

Shun grimaced at the snicker. Yes, he didn't swim. He just sank. And sometimes drowned while he was at it. Though, his expression shifted back to a more neutral state as Calder seemed to have a solution to this.
"Alright," he said, though somewhat begrudgingly. He didn't like to have to rely on him like this, but he didn't have too much choice here. Either he took the Kelpie's help, attempted to swim and drown, or wait for the gas to choke him out. He did know, at least, that Calder should be able to handle swimming with him.
And so he climbed onto his back, holding on.

With Shun in Piggy Back position, Calder smiled and hefted him up as he stood, before stepping into the water. "I'm glad no one from my clan is around or else this would seem really intimate." He said, flushing as he waded into the water before he reached his arms out, and swam, his legs kicking out and floating through the water. He had no need to keep his mouth above the water, and kept his eyes above to be able to see.
Somewhere in the water, he felt something brush against his legs, and then n** him, causing him to kick out a moment before picking up the pace. If there was something here wanted a snack, he didn't want to be on it's menu.
Once his hooves felt ground again, he moved through the water and then knelt again for Shun to get off.
Shaking his hair, he breathed out. "Still a nice dip, all things considered." He smiled and headed down the hallway, waiting for Shun to follow.

Stage 4:
[Now cramped places he didn't like, and soon he was kneeling. "Oh, now this isn't good. Why is it getting cramped?" He pressed against the walls and looked back. Seems single file was in order now, and going on his hands and knees, Calder moved in, crawling slowly.
"I hope this doesn't' get smaller or else I might have to go on a diet." Or starve down here. As he walked, he felt something bite his ear and winced. "Oh! Stupid spiders." He brushed his hair free of cobwebs. Second thing to bite him today, and all this smoke was making him feel sick too.
His ear was soon starting to feel warm and then hot. "You'd think that the horsemen would fix this cave a bit"

Stage 4
While they were in the water, Shun held on firmly. Not so tight that he'd end up choking the Kelpie on accident though. Once they were on solid ground once more, he let out a breath and climbed down from his back.
"Thanks," he said. Calder had gotten him across the pool safely after all.
Moving along, he paused as the cave seemed to be getting more narrow at this point. It looked like they were going to have to crawl on through now. After casting the Kelpie a glance, the reaper got down and began to move on through. He heard the other curse about spiders, so he kept an eye out for anything like that. At some point, he tried to turn to the left to see if there was a path that way, and ended up bumping his head against the cave wall.
"Kusooo..." he hissed sharply. That hurt.
Once on the other side, he rubbed his head gingerly and grimaced at Calder.
"No kidding," he grumbled, "I imagine they clip their wings a lot in that part."

Stage 5:Clipping wings sounds horrible. I wonder if it hurts." He rubbed his ear and could already feel it swelling. "Wouldn't kill them to get a few birds down there to eat the spiders." Birds didn't hurt sting and leave welts if they pecked you. "Their small enough to get in there."
Turning, he noticed the door, and breathed a sigh of relief. "Great. maybe after this we can just walk around. I think that's the door." He started to walk there, but as if to spite them, the door shut on them.
"HEY! That isn't funny!" He called up to the ceiling to whatever or whoever controlled the door.
Already annoyed, he lashed out at the door and kicked it open. "Hah! I thought so." He then proudly walked through and turned to watch Shun when the door slammed shut behind him.

Stage 5"Indeed. Though, I'd have to wonder if the birds would be able to survive with all the toxic gasses around here..." he murmured. Shun looked ahead to see the door, glad to be at the end of the tunnel now. Only, it shut right in their faces. Great. Well Calder was pretty prompt in kicking the door open. However, it slammed right after the Kelpie left. "Yare yare..." he sighed before attempting to kick the door as well. The door opened up upon the impact, and thus the Reaper walked on out with his hands in his pockets. Albeit somewhat irritably. "Let's go," he grumbled before going on his way.
