AND THEN THE BOSS SWEPT OUT WITH ITS TENTACLE AND TOOK OFF THE TOP OF THEIR SANDCASTLE.

"I'm pretty sure this thing doesn't like this eyesore you call a sandcastle" 8| Titus gave one more attempt before he just walked away. the castle was a mound of sand.

Riyo's jaw dropped as the top of their sandcastle was practically cut through like butter. Oh... Oh Sally.
It was over.
Their castle was doomed.
"STARFISH, NOOOOOOOO!" The ghoul screamed, her hand held out dramatically. He'd done so much. Kept them safe, held the fort down, and poor Philip had asked nothing in return.
He just continued holding on, until there was nothing left to hold onto. "Gunnarr... Where's Gunnarr?!" Funny how she remembered the names of animals, but not fellow students.

There were no words to describe this. Only horror.
Hel tried to land one more futile blow to the tentacle before it dropped down on their sand castle like a fly swatter on a fly. It was one of those odd moments where everything else slowed down. The tentacle swatting their sandcastle happened in slow motion, and the sand bits exploded in a shower, raining down upon her and her team mates.
The reaper’s spear fell into the sand as she stared at what remained of their once proud castle.
The tentacle seemed pleased with itself. Crushing the sandcastle like a boss it did.

EnteringAmphi rushed over to the Baku and tackled her in the sand, looking her over for any wounds. "Xiu! I saw the crabs and the wave and then the tentacle! Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Amphi had pretty much dragged Thana somewhere behind her but was so focused on her friend that she looked like the might've burst into tears. "You got so small...and I got so worried!" She sniffed before looking at the castle. "I'm...i'm sorry about your castle friend."
She looked to the other teammates for Xiu and recognized only one. "Hello Hel! Are you alright as well?!?!? She waved.

Thanatos hung back with a perfectly neutral expression as he assessed the situation - and the damage - that had been done to the sandcastle; apparently, most of the teams' sandcastles had been destroyed. Apparently the horsemen had a 'release the kraken' ability?
Biskoto, on the other hand, looked worried enough for both of them as she looked from Hel to Xiu, perched on the reaper's shoulder, "Oh darlingsssss! Are you alright?! That mussst had been quite a ssscare!"

Phew, back to normal size! The look at Xiu gave their destroyed castle was a rather forlorn one, but she quickly brightened up when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. Whirling around, she greeted her friend with outstretched arms, giving the mermaid a hug once she was in range. "Amphi, hi! And don't worry, I'm fine!" It had been kind of exhilarating, actually...well. Up until the kraken, at least--that had been pretty damn scary.
The baku's gaze slid past Amphi to fall on her companions, one of whom earned a friendly wave, while the other got an affectionate petting (take a wild guess who got what). "Thanatos, Biskoto, Hi! And it was...a little alarming, but..."
She looked down at their sandcastle and sighed, her smile becoming a little wry. "But the most important thing is that we're all in one piece, even if our sandcastle is not. Did you guys enjoy watching the show, at least?"

Yes, Lou had been about to leave. Yes, he'd practically had one foot in the portal when his head turned to take one last glance at the beach, and yes the sun would probably get the better of him before he left, but when he noticed visitors were able to come check out (what was left of) the sandcastles again, the vampire boil had rushed to the scene and up behind a certain baku who was busily conversing with his 'friends' from earlier.
Leaning his head in towards the ghoul's shoulder, the boil held his umbrella away momentarily to try avoiding a cast shadow. "HEY XIU." He shouted before anyone could warn her, immediately leaning back and returning to the comfort of the black umbrella.
"I saw you 'flipped me the bird' earlier. Clever pun, I must admit." For he was a lover of puns, and a lover of women. So women using puns was just too hot. "I also saw your team's crushing defeat and that the remains of your sandcastle are both sad and heartbreaking." not that he had a heart to break. "So why don't you just... Let me comfort you for awhile? You can even talk about feminine problems that I don't care about. I won't complain."
And there was that wink again.

Here Xiu was, happily chatting with her friends, when a certain someone suddenly decided to sneak up behind her. She remained oblivious to his presence until he suddenly yelled in her ear.
It took all of her effort not to scream aloud. As it was, the only thing that stopped her from reacting vocally was the fact that she had instinctively clasped her hands over her mouth to muffle any sound. After a moment or two passed, she whirled around, her tail bristling as she stared at the boil.
"LOU."
Lips drawn in a frown, she crossed her arms over her chest. The good humour on her face made way for clear irritation and...perhaps a flicker of confusion? She had done exactly what Riyo had suggested earlier and flipped a bird at Lou, so what did he mean by pun?
Pushing that thought aside, the baku made a face. "That's kind of you to offer, Lou, but I'm not that torn up over our sandcastle. It's sad, but--is something wrong with your eye?" What was that one-eyed blink just now?

"OOooooh, you remembered my name. That means you really like me." The vampire cheekily declared, lowering his sunglasses to get a better look at the ghoul. "But you don't have to call me by my common name. Call me sexy muffin or something sickeningly sweet like that. Nicknames are fun, after all."
It didn't take long before Lou was attempting to invade Xiu's personal space by wrapping an arm around her shoulder and leaning into the ghoul with little to no ******** given. "You should be. That was a mess." What encouraging words. "It's okay if you want to cry. Crying just shows how weak women are, and that's adorable. As for my eye, yeah, there's something wrong. It can't get enough of you." Did he realize what he was saying? Yes. Did it stop him from saying such things? No. Lou had an incurable case of diarrhea flowing from his mouth. That's how it had always been, as far as he knew, and how it always should be.

Xiu chose not to tell him that the reason she remember his name was because she had been intending on avoiding him, but she still didn't look pleased. The puffed-cheek look dropped from her face for a moment as she turned to shoot an apologetic look towards Amphi, Thanatos, and Biskoto, but her pout returned when she looked back towards the vampire.
She lifted a hand, fingers carefully closing around his wrist as she lifted his hand and dropped it from her shoulders. Xiu then took a biiiig step away. "I appreciate the offer, but I am nowhere close to crying." Choosing to ignore his flirtatious comment, she grabbed his shoulders, spun him around, and gave him a light push.
"Why don't you go on, now? Better leave before you get left behind, yes?" Please.

Nowhere close to crying? She was stronger than he gave her credit for... Which wasn't surprising, considering who they were talking about.
Lou was used to having his arm removed from a woman's shoulders, so he didn't seem to mind when the baku gave him the same treatment. It didn't mean she didn't want him, just that she didn't want him yet.
He had been waiting for a good hook to bait, for the ghoul to unsuspectingly drop a good morsel that he could devour, and it came with her last words to him. The vampire let himself be turned around and shoved forward, slumping a little as he stopped.
"Left behind?" He repeated, an unusually quiet tone wiping over the vampire's charismatic voice. "... There's nobody waiting for me."
What Xiu couldn't see was the fact that he was still grinning that wide, toothy grin, spiral eyes glancing to the side just waiting to hear any signs of guilt. Manipulative? Oh, very much so.
