--------------------------------

Nagisa lead the two into the rock field arena and let go of their shoulders, flexing her hands a bit as she stared at the two. "So, welcome to the Kumogakure shinobi force. Now first thing is first, I feel I need to express that shinobi are held to a certain level of accountability. This means that you will follow the laws of the village." She gave Shikaku a sharp look. "Shinobi are everything to this growing village. You represent the whole group as defenders, and as workers. Shinobi live to serve, if that is too much for you then you should have dropped out of the academy. Once you begin doing missions you have sworn allegiance to the village and desertion will make death look like a blessing."
She waited for the two to soak in the information, before her expression changed to a more pleasant one. "Now as I have already met one graduate I feel I should meet yo utwo as well. I am Nagisa head of the Aburame clan and I am the village Jounin. I work closely with the Raikage who you will meet soon. Now who are and why the hell did you become a shinobi?"

Yelena once again found herself inside the training center. Nagisa finally let go of her shoulder and she immediately proceeded to grab it. She was surprised by the strength of her grip, especially for someone her size. Upon being let go, she looked around the training center. The sensei from earlier was no longer there, and she still had the scrolls she had to return to the library in order to finish her mission. Oh well, as long as the scrolls are safe in her pack, she can always finish the mission later.

As Nagisa continued with her spiel, Yelena adjusted her sunglasses to fit tighter against her face, covering her eyes completely. She then proceeded to place her hands within the pockets of her hoodie before she took a single step forward. "My name is Yelena Katina Aburame, but you can call me Lena. I became a shinobi to join the medical nin force and become a medical ninja like my mother," she explained. She wasn't big into fighting, staying in the back lines was more her style. Besides, a medical ninja shall never fight in the front lines. That was one of the laws of being a medical nin.

As soon as the woman released her grip on his shoulder, Shikaku backed away several feet, from both her and the girl. It was obvious now that his earlier paranoia was just that, but he still didn't quite trust either of them. And the woman's first statement only made it worse, directed at him obviously by the look she gave him. Had they found out then? That he'd been involved earlier? Or worse yet, did they know about the times he'd worked the streets as a pickpocket just to pay his way through the academy? He certainly hadn't led an entirely law abiding life up to now, but he hadn't broken any major laws, right? The ANBU certainly hadn't come for him yet. The line about desertion though, that didn't hit quite so close to home. He knew as well as any academy student these days the trouble deserters had caused. A Jounin, a Sannin, and even a genin that was rumored to have been a jinchuuriki had all left at once awhile back, and more had followed after that. A constant trickle of deserters until the village didn't even have the power to stop them anymore. Why had they left? Where had they gone? Nobody seemed able to answer that.

But why bother warning him against desertion if they were kicking him out of the forces anyways? Maybe it was just in case he passed whatever test she had in mind? Well, he'd certainly give it his best shot. He hadn't put so long into this to be turned down now. And then she asked something... Who were they? She obviously knew that already. She'd called them both graduates, and called him out by name. At a guess, she knew all about the girl as well. And... Why had they become shinobi? He'd never thought about that really. At first, perhaps, it was for recognition. In the orphanage being a shinobi made you "Cool". Better than the other kids, even though it also got you out of there, which was even better. And Shikaku had certainly needed a good dose of cool. But then all the other kids who'd taken that route left him behind anyways, graduated long ago and gone on to really being shinobi, until he was the only one left. Even if he passed now it didn't even matter anymore. It'd barely matter to the younger kids who hadn't grown up with him even. Perhaps now he was just trying to prove himself, to himself.

And why did it even matter? Why did he have to tell... Why did he have to tell? He didn't know this person. All he knew about her was what she'd said, and he knew better than anybody that what you said was never necessarily true. His instructors, before they'd pushed him through graduation, had warned him of one thing. His skills were useless for outright combat. He would only survive as a shinobi if he went into infiltration, spying, assassination. And in all three fields there was one enemy to be feared above all else. The interrogator. They wanted to know you, your mission, and who sent you. Except for the last, that was what he'd just been asked. The interrogator came in many forms too. Rarely was it actually torture. Usually it was an innocent seeming question that led, in the end, straight to the information they wanted most, and you didn't even know not to give.

So, what? Was he being tested already? This was the only field he could survive in. The academy knew it. A re-tester would know it. So what better test, than to see if he could survive it, and spot such a simple trap? Still unsure though, Shikaku didn't dare respond. A verbal answer, no matter how controlled, could give away you knew not what. Silence could sometimes as well, but it gave away less, and could always be salvaged later. So unlike the girl beside him, who answered the questions so easily, giving more even than was asked for, he thought, he held his peace, just watching the older woman even as she watched him.

--------------------------------

((it would seem my post last night did not go through... so I gotta rewrite it.))

Nagisa listened to the girl's introduction and nodded silently. Most would see an Aburame medic as an oddity, but Nagisa knew their relationship with the kikaichuu was rarely something a child wanted. The initiation was painful, the stigma large, and the fact that you would never be alone again made it pretty hard to deal with at first. Usually it was the parent's choice to perform the initiation, though it technically isn't mandatory to be considered a clan member. Many Aburame barely used their bugs at all, opting for their other talents. Nagisa then looked to the boy, waiting a response, but he obviously wasn't willing to offer one. Her kumo insignia should be plenty to mark her as an ally, considering any foreign shinobi would be arrested for impersonation. He also could be upset with her for interrupting his play time. "Shikaku, I am impressed you were allowed to graduate with your scores. Are you having second thoughts about becoming a shinobi? Your recent activity, and your scores leave you on thin ice I would recommend you at least acknowledge your superiors." It was true Nagisa's face wasn't well known (due to a considerable effort on her part), so she didn't push much harder, but she wasn't entirely impressed with the boy. If he turned out to be a risk, either of fleeing or otherwise betraying the village, she needed to know as soon as possible.

After a pause she spoke again. "You two have a mission. There has been a pickpocket causing trouble between here and the marketplace (village center) and we need you to find him. He is not a kumogakure shinobi, so is either a civilian who has been clever enough to avoid detection or a foreign shinobi. You are to bring him to the kage's tower under arrest, then you both need to report to the Raikage. Yelena you can finish delivering that on the way."

((Mission D-rank: Pickpocket
You must spend at least 4 posts searching, then once you find the NPC (played by Duo) you need to capture him. I have given him creative license with the major details. Seems like a good starting point since neither of you are combat focused and an outright battle would cause trouble.))

"His name is Shikaku? And from what I'm getting from her, he barely managed to pass the academy. This day is just turning out to be the epitome of success," she thought as she fiddled around with her hands in her pockets. There was a rather long pause between her scolding Shikaku and her next words, in which Yelena breathed deeply. That was when she began speaking again, the first words being about a mission and she was being paired up with Shikaku.

Capture a possible foreign ninja, arrest him and bring him to the Kage's tower...sounds troublesome. Yelena is a medical ninja, she's not suited for head on combat. Which meant that they were going to have to get the drop on the ninja, otherwise he could easily best the two of them. She might have to rely heavily on her Kikaichu. "I understand, mam. We will complete the mission as asked," she responded reluctantly. She had her doubts, but she was still considered a ninja of Kumogakure and she will obey orders from her superiors without question.

Yelena removed her hands from her pockets as she turned to face Shikaku. Adjusting her sunglasses, she took a single step closer to him. "Are you ready to begin the mission, Shikaku?" she asked him, waiting for his response before moving out. Where should they begin? How would they even go about tracking him down? She could use her insects to scour the marketplace, and then have them communicate with her their findings.

Shikaku flinched inwardly, but only inwardly, as it became obvious that silence was not the best answer. The woman, unless she was a far better actor than him (Entirely possible really, considering the experience gap.), didn't seem to react to what he had assumed would be the answer to a test, though he further statements could have been further testing still. Except she also hinted that he would be kicked out. Recent activity? Evidently they had connected him to Timmy somehow. Not hard really, just ask the ANBU who had been with Timmy before the whole thing once they realized what happened. And acknowledge superiors... Perhaps he had been wrong indeed. But, what could he have said without giving away anything? Giving away... What, though? That he didn't know why he wanted to be a ninja? Great idea there, one way ticket out of the service, and back to the orphanage. he'd never live that down.

He considered dissuading the notion that he'd been involved with Timmy earlier, but really, they could easily make the connection, and if they already had, lying to a jounin about it was yet again, a one way ticket back to the orphanage. So it'd be best for now to just play along, pass whatever test she was offering, and deal with any fallout later. Hopefully he could shove the blame back on Timmy efficiently. After all, it had been his idea, and there was no real way to dissuade that man when he got an idea like that in his head.

Luckily it seemed, the woman moved on on her own, not requiring any response, and... Gave them a mission? A medic and a noncombatant, to track down a pickpocket. One who may or may not be a foreign shinobi. Wonderful. Well, at the same time, maybe it was better if it was a foreign ninja. Shikaku knew most of the pickpockets working the market area, was friends with them even. Well, comrades anyways. When you were low enough to need to pick pockets for a living, you had to work with others, or you'd get caught. And he really didn't want to have to bring in anyone who had helped him out in the past. Well, there were always rogue elements in that world too, and the group he'd worked with, well, they had rules. Rules the rogues didn't have, or know about. Maybe he could use that to ensure whatever pickpocket they found wasn't a friend? It'd help them too, by lowering the heat...

Best not to let anyone else hear those thoughts though... Looking up after having thought about it a bit too long, Shikaku slowly nodded to the woman, but paused as the girl beside him spoke up instead, and then came over to him. Was it... Normal to be so trusting? There were so many stories in history of genin, new genin just like them, that had been fooled by a superior officer getting them into something they shouldn't have been. It was unlikely, considering the mission, but still. Blindly accepting wasn't right... "May I see the mission scroll?" he finally spoke up, looking at Nagisa and holding out his hand a bit. Not enough to seem demanding, but enough to emphasize the request. "And I'll need a bit of expense money. Paper, preferably." he added in, a bit worried now that he might seem presumptuous. But he really did need the money. You couldn't lure a pickpocket properly, unless you had some money to wave around, and Shikaku didn't have a single coin left.

It's becoming hilarious to me how much Shikaku is growing to match the Naruto in a fanfic I read recently, where he grows up living on the streets instead of watched by the Hokage. Truly amazing. Fun too.

((Seriously, even Timmy doesn't cause this much trouble lol. Probably because he is an NPC but that's not important.))
"If you wish to see a paper copy you will need to visit the kage's office. Let me remind you that there is a pickpocket on the loose, and he is good too even shinobi are getting hit. It would probably not be wise to let him know we are looking, he would probably go into hiding. This man is not desperate as much as cocky. I get the feeling you two would get along." That was mostly true, Nagisa would probably notice an attempted pickpocket very quickly from the pure fact that she was aburame. Few were willing to get close to a walking hive, and even less would touch the Aburame without making sure they had his/her permission. However the risk still did exist, if only slightly, and Nagisa was getting downright annoyed with the boy.
With a sigh she slipped the boy several small bills, enough to buy one or two cheap foods but otherwise insubstantial. It would also probably be enough for the boy to buy information considering he probably knew most of the "little people" in the market. The boy was poor, but if he needed more he would have to take it out of his own pocket. "If you need more you can request it at the kage's tower so they can officially tell you no." Would the boy actually go to the tower to confirm the mission? "Oh, and just in case you somehow do doubt I am not who I say I am you have them confirm that too."

((Just in case this is why you asked for the gambling hall. This "money" cannot be used to gamble or purchase real goods. Just pretend ones like food and keychains and such.))

"Huh?" Shikaku couldn't help but be confused by Nagisa's random mention of the pickpocket being cocky, and them getting along. Was she implying he was cocky too? Where would she even? Huh? The confusion from that momentarily distracted him from the question of, if a jounin is worried about having a mission scroll stolen from her pocket, how was a genin supposed to catch him? But with the woman obviously getting annoyed, it was probably best not to question it aloud.

She did give him the money though. Though he was unsure if in doing so she understood what it was to be used for. The biggest of the few bills she gave him was a five gold note. Well, that at least, he could compensate for... He did consider going to the tower like she suggested he do if he was worried, but in the end, that would make him look foolish more than cautious, and even cautious looked to be getting him in trouble now. "This will do." the boy sighed in response, folding the bills and pocketing them for the moment.

Finally turning to look at the girl, Shikaku nodded that he was ready to go, and then turned the rest of the way, slowly walking back towards the market, with one thought left strolling through his mind. 'If you do doubt I am not who I say I am.'... Had that been a slip of the tongue, or an intentional double negative to throw him off even more? Bah, maybe cautious was the wrong approach if it was so easy to get him tied up in a knot with it. But how was he meant to react to someone basically kidnapping him, and then claiming they had a mission? As far as he knew, that was NOT normal procedure. Well, at least if his paranoia came true and there was no mission, they would still likely get compensation for it when they brought the pickpocket to the kage. ...Why did the kage want to see a pickpocket?

"I will ensure that this mission is accomplished," Yelena added as Shikaku began heading out. With that she turned to follow him. From the looks of it, Shikaku seemed to be walking towards the marketplace. She was at least thankful that they weren't going to waste time by going to the Kage's tower and investigating whether or not Nagisa-sensei was telling the truth. The kid seemed to be extremely paranoid. They were in their own village, and Nagisa had a Kumo headband which identified her as a Kumo ninja. Maybe she was too trusting? She doubted it, no he was just being paranoid. Yelena sped up slightly to finally catch up to Shikaku. Adjusting her sunglasses, which it seems she's having to do often otherwise they would fall from her face, she addressed Shikaku once more. "Alright...since we both are being forced to work together to complete this mission, then we're going to have to make the best out of our situation. So, do you have some sort of plan?" she asked him, hoping for the best. She doesn't exactly have the highest of opinions in regards to Shikaku.

Laxus walked out onto the training grounds to see that no one of substance was there. There were some other genin and a few students, but otherwise no one. He didn't even see Bakaschitzel, hopefully the man had died of a heart attack brought upon by eating the ramen. " I guess I should recount that it is that I remember so far. " Laxus said sighing and sitting down along the wall, resting his back against it.

Quote:
Official Report:
Mission Concerning Sunagakure, and Jishaku
Laxus' Perspective:
Kensei, Leader, Sora and myself, Support, arrived to find the gates of Sunagakure midday. The walls seemed to be made of a strong sandstone, and mostly used to keep the sand out. The area we walked through was a crack, more of a crevice, that was at least half a mile long, and roughly 45 feet tall. Once there we were asked to fill out an information waver. Kensei and Sora's wavers are unknown as to what was put down, and I myself answered vaguely and without much more than my name, rank, affiliation, and my equipment. We met a young Kirigakure Shinobi, Yamatano. He wore a mask, and had striking white hair, most likely naturally so. He spoke to Sora and Kensei, and revealed himself to be of the Hatake Clan. I'm not too sure what that means, but he has other abilities, which I'll get into at a later time.

Once within the village, we made our way directly to the Kazekage's Tower. I won't get into the dimensions of the building as it is no longer there. Once inside, Kensei walked to the desk and sputtered out words. Essentially he conveyed the message we wanted to see the Kazekage, but it was in an unorthodox manner. There was... a lot of starting and stopping. I thought that instead of allowing us to be branded with a speech impediment, I'd take it upon myself to speak. In hind sight, that backfired in later instances. I told the woman at the front desk that we were on official business from the Raikage, and we needed an audience with the Kazegkage. While we waited for the Kazekage to invite us up, or maybe the receptionist to simply allow us to go up, Sora conversed with a child of the village, presumably a genin. He stood in the building, and wore a hood over his face to hide his physical features. After the Receptionist told us we could go to the top floor, Kensei told us to come along, and proceeded to call the building a hell hole, but that is nit picking. I spoke to Yamatano Hatake, the Kirigakure shinobi, as I made my way up the stairs after Kensei. I learned that Konohagakure is experiencing prosperity, and Kirigakure is perpetually surrounded by mist. As much was to be expected, but I was unaware as to if it fills the village or just surrounds it. When we reached the top of the stairs, the door was opened and the Kazekage flipped a coin. Kensei guessed wrong, and we had to wait until Yamatano was finished with his meeting before we could meet with the Kazekage.

We were placed in a waiting room with a water cooler. I suggested allowing Yamatano in on our meeting to hear what we had to say regarding the threat Jishaku was. It doesn't matter now, but having Yamatano could have harbored a tie to Kirigakure, giving trust to one of the shinobi, and allowing us to send the message to Kirigakure without us travelling. Kensei denied this, despite it's potential benefits stating " Kumo deals with Kumo's problems. " After this, Kensei asked if I was hiding anything. I told them I wasn't, but they hadn't directly asked what my abilities were. I revealed my abilities to control small bits of metal to an extent. Kensei Revealed he was an Uchiha, and Sora didn't actually reveal anything. Yamatano walked in before Kensei could expand more on his Sharingan aside from what he already had, and then left to the Office. Sora and I followed quickly, leaving Yamatano to the water cooler. Before we left, Yamatano used some sort of technique to funnel the water from the cooler and flow it into his mouth. Naturally I think he uses Suiton after seeing that.

Upon entering, Kensei sat down in the chair, and commented on the Kazekage's size and age. I thought he would take offence to this, so I intervened and told Kensei that most people in his position would not like someone judging them by size and age. I then spoke and stated our reason for being there. After this the Kazekage used a sunaton technique to wrap my mouth. It wasn't painful, but it left bruising. He stared at me with hatred and a hint of bloodlust. It only stands to reason that he had something in him, as further confirmed by Jishaku should his words be capable of belief. I'll discuss that later though. After this point, Kensei told me to leave the room, and in the interest of distancing myself from the Kazekage for my own benefit, and the mission's benefit, I left immediately.

~

Arriving in the training grounds for the third time in a single day, Shikaku hopped straight onto the border wall, and began walking along it, eyes flashing to and fro over the entire grounds, picking apart the terrain and people there. He was searching for Timmy, but Timmy was nowhere to be seen. Soon enough he had checked all of the man's usual hang outs, and found them all empty. Was he avoiding him then? Sure, he could have been off doing something else, but at this time of day, he actually thought that rather unlikely. No, the man had probably realized how pissed Shikaku would be and taken off to hide. An admirable tactical decision, if the boy took the time to admit it.

Slumping down and sitting hunched on the wall, Shikaku entered what he would never admit to be a sulking position as he continued scanning the grounds for any sign of his would be friend. He wasn't sure what he'd actually do when he saw him, and the anger was already starting to filter away, so he probably wouldn't hack right into him as he wanted to when he finally found him, but... Whatever.

After awhile of searching, evidently fruitlessly for the man, Shikaku began to take notice of the others in the area as well. People watching after all, was a key to his art. He could see a genin team in the distance, practicing with their jounin sensei. A lone genin in another area practiced tree walking, an art he had to admit he'd have to take the time to learn himself. Nothing was quite as useful to moving unnoticed in a hallway, as hiding on the ceiling itself. A chuunin in another area appeared to be practicing in advanced control techniques. At least, he had to assume standing on one finger, atop a pool of water, was some sort of advanced control practice.

As the genin team in the distance began to spar, Shikaku's gaze focused itself on an oddity. And oddities, were interesting. A boy, tall and fairly old for a genin, was sitting on the ground against the wall, evidently writing in a scroll. After a moment, he realized it was one of the genin he'd seen at the tower earlier. What was he doing? Writing a diary? Journal perhaps? He'd almost say it could be a mission report, since that group seemed to have just returned from a mission, but those were private, secret even. Not something you wrote in the middle of a public area, where anyone could just...

Grinning to himself again, Shikaku slid down off of the wall on the opposite side as the boy was sitting, and quietly made his way down to where he had seen him. Stripping off his tool pouches, and gloves to remove any metals that might knock together or against the stone wall, he hopped up, catching the top of the wall and silently pulling himself up, thankful the sun was in front of him, preventing any shadows. He kept himself low to the stone, peeking over only enough to see, but not be seen or give evidence of himself.

Focusing on the paper Shikaku blinked. It really was a mission report! Was this guy stupid? Writing a mission report in public, where anyone with an ounce of skill could read it? Well, it was there anyways, and information collecting was his job... Smiling to himself, Shikaku skimmed the article, quickly catching up with the boy's writing. He had to say, there were some odd points in there, but he hadn't been there, so he couldn't say much on the matter. Well, except that he was kind of glad he hadn't been there. He couldn't imagine getting chatty about the team's abilities in a foreign village would buy the kid any points with the Raikage. Near the end of what the boy had written so far though, Shikaku blinked in surprise. Did that say what he thought it did?

"Are you sure you didn't just piss him off?" the white haired boy spoke up, pulling himself upright and sitting on the wall properly as he made himself known. It seemed odd to assume there was something (And one could only assume that meant a demon.) inside of a person just because of a harsh reaction to what had already been described as offensive behavior.

" Peeking over someone's shoulders? Are you sure that you're one to judge for pissing someone off? " Laxus said, looking up to see the boy's head poking out over the edge of the stone. Laxus let go of the scroll, focusing on the metal ends and rolling it quickly, snapping the tie with his hand. The happening would be near instant, and difficult to perceive. He flashed a smile, though it was somewhat obvious he was agitated. " So, you're that kid that went into the Raikage's office after I left huh? " He said smiling. He brought his hands together swiftly and let out a short breath. " Wall walking technique. " He said placing his foot on the wall and bounding up to the boy. He'd remain on the wall, just infront of the boy's face. Crouching he looked the boy full in the face. " You know, I kinda like you. You seem smart, but sometimes being too smart is a bad thing in and of itself. The most intelligent men are capable of making the most harmful decisions. " He said laughing. Shikaku was somewhat entertaining, but at the same time annoying. He'd seen something that was meant for the Raikage's eyes only, and as such he needed to be coerced into silence. If this involved some sort of training, or maybe some monetary pull, either would be fine with Laxus. " What is your name? " He asked, his face taking on one of curiosity now instead of the agitated humor from earlier.

( Yeah, it is fine, I'll edit it out and into my Sandbox. ^>^

Also, any pointers for longer posts? I want to start working on getting a bit more fluff. )

Shikaku shrugged in response to the boy's reply, smiling innocently. He'd decided, since speaking up was really spur of the moment, and also his way of pointing out that writing secret information in public was generally a bad idea, that he'd play the innocent for this one, like he didn't see anything wrong with what he himself had done. When the boy stood up and walked up the wall to face him directly, Shikaku rose one eyebrow, which was quickly followed by the other as he turned the expression into surprise, almost even awe. It never hurt to let the target think they had you awed.

And then the boy spoke up again, and Shikaku wasn't sure what to think. Had he just been complimented, or threatened, or some bizarre point in between and three feet to the left? And then the guy asked his name. Tilting his head to the side, Shikaku thought for a moment, making sure to hold the innocent, though now confused expression on his face. How should he reply? And then he smiled, remember what the Raikage had said to him. Straightening his head, he looked into the older boy's eyes with a mock serious face, and spoke in the exact same tone the boy had used on him moments earlier. "If the enemy knows your name, you have failed already." The quote didn't exactly apply to the situation at all, but it sounded almost wise, and he could only assume the other boy had been making an attempt at a wise saying with his bizarre threatliment, so why not?

Laxus tilted his head to one side when the child spoke. It was an odd thing to say. Was the child thinking he was an enemy, or was it metaphorical? Did the child think that he was a peer of Laxus? Well, the child probably was one of his peers, but still... It was kinda hard to take that thought some times. He let out a sigh and returned a smile and a chuckle to the child. "I'm not your enemy, in fact we're on the same team. Unless you cross Kumogakure, then it'll be bad for one of us." He said laughing as he looked at the child. Laxus wondered if that's what the child meant. Was the Raikage already angry at Laxus and sent this kid to kill him? It kinda made sense, he didn't have any metal on him, surely the Raikage would know to not send someone with a blade on them. but was this child really that dangerous? Laxus couldn't be sure, but the child needed to be coerced into either silence, or befriended into silence. " If I don't know your name, then how will I be able communicate with you? At least give me a moniker to call you by. " He said smiling. It wasn't much, but maybe just letting the child remain somewhat anonymous would be seen as an olive branch of sorts. " You can call me LM. " He said smiling and holding out his hand.

Shikaku tilted his head to the opposite direction as Laxus had, and blinked slowly, staring in evident wide eyed confusion at his words. "We're not on the same team." he said slowly, allowing confusion to leak into his voice as well. "I don't even have a team." he said, blinking twice more for good measure. Interesting. the boy seemed to be getting uncomfortable. Maybe because he'd been caught writing? It was a possibility. Smiling inwardly, he decided to continue, and blinked innocently once again. "And didn't you already cross Kumo? Selling secrets to the enemy and all that?" he added, tilting his head all the way back around to the other direction and pointing his hand vaguely in the direction the older boy had put the mission report. He exaggerated quite a lot, but the boy had apparently done a lot of talking to foreign nin, even talking about his team's abilities in public. In the process of asking his vaguely incriminating question he also ignored the second question of names and offer of a handshake. He may have shook hands with the girl earlier, but this boy was a bit off, and he wasn't sure he wanted to trust him just yet.
