[Entering Trap Zone B]

It seemed that just as Ralph had gotten back up from that arrow to the knee, he'd managed to scuttle himself into another unsavory area. Dark, quiet, and most of all... Getting more cramped by the second.

Simon screeched as he noticed the path getting thinner.

"I can't!" Between not being able to see where he was going and having a sort of limp, this situation was getting a little... Tight.

[[REUBEN IS CURRENTLY IN: LABYRINTH CENTER.]]

Reuben waiting for a response to his earlier question was soon heard and then felt Julien nearby with a clap on his back. He tilted his head down toward the other male Hunter with his usual grin, "What? Sure. Y'can ask me anythin' you want, Buddy."

There was a moment of confusion as he stared at Julien as he proceeded to be his usual dramatic self but yet there was something about it that made Reuben take the request more seriously than he usually would have. The large man's face became a bit more solemn as he nodded his head, "A'ight. Y'got my word. If things turn out that way I'll be there f'her."

He was always good for a shoulder to cry on no matter what.

"Don't go doin' nothin' foolish just cause I promised that," he resumed his grin and lightly clapped Julien upon a shoulder.

Relief spread through Julien like wildfire. If there was one person who could make it out of crazy town it'd be Reuben. Life had to do something good for a guy so good. But at least Julien would rest assured that if anything did happen to him Mya would be well taken care of.

"Don't worry, you know me. Getting hurt is too over rated and would just soil my coat even more. And it's already such a mess. I swear this night is just setting up to be more horrible than anything else in my life."

Yup, there was Julien worrying about how dirty his clothing was. The state of dress was so important to the pale man it was scary. He had even lost his rose somewhere, it had fallen out of his breast pocket when he had fallen or something. Sighing, he looked around then back at Reuben.

"Any idea what's going on exactly? I know it's end of the world n' all, but I haven't seen anything jumping out at me. I don't know if they're saving for a big push or not, and it's scaring me a bit. I don't like it when they plot."

[[Trap Zone B]]

One final attempt out got Adam out - only now the area was worse. Far worse.

Everythign was dark, everything was gone, and still everything felt like it was pressing down on him. Worse, he couldn't hear his own footsteps as he stumbled forward, or what he thought was forward.

Isaac was gone. He had lost Isaac. Again. He was responsible for his safety, as far as the Life Hunter was concerned... but he couldn't stop. He had to survive. Isaac was a grown man, he could keep his head and do the same. Please, Isaac, find the center, be safe...

Did the headset still work? Adam's fingers fumbled for the button, the dead silence of it all still disconcerting. He couldn't even tell if his voice sounded calm still over the connection.

Do headsets work in Trap Zone B? Wasn't sure if the whole "can't hear anything" part only was for the environment around him or if it affected their tech too.

Em had the guiltiest look when he turned to stare at her, but the whisper into her ear made her shudder in anticipation. She gave him a mock salute, before getting back to work, but the smile never left her face.

"I think they mean our doom, sweetheart. That's probably why we're trying to find a way to stop it." She didn't need to read the runes to know they were bad, and whatever they meant would eventually spell their death, if they didn't find the artifact. Details weren't important to her.

"Mmm, I hate guessing games, but if I haaave to.." She bit her lip as she swept her pole across the floor, waiting for something, anything interesting to happen.

She perked for a moment as names started flooding into her head. "James? Frank? Gary? .. Julio?" She giggled at the last one.

[TRAP ZONE A]
Dave was really beginning to get spooked with this place. He hadn't heard a word from anyone as long as he'd been wandering around from place to place and he'd even started to consider using the headset to speak to someone, anyone at all and see how the others were faring. But that would be admitting he wasn't feeling very secure alone, it'd be admitting he was having trouble doing the job he was set to do.

Failure really wasn't acceptable, so he kept right at it, stumbling here and there through the winding halls until out of absolutely nowhere another of the concealed pressure plates made a grating sound underfoot and just as he leapt aside, a large spike swung out from the wall, slashing his side fairly deeply. He dropped to the floor, panting in surprise and pain that took his breath away, pressing his palm to the injury firmly as he once again fished out his bandages and set about a hasty repair.

"This relic actually better /be/ here. I'm going to have no bits left to injure by the end."

Warden frowned slightly, his brow furrowing. Reuben?

The name was unfamiliar, even as he wracked his brain trying to figure it out, but it was no matter now. Whoever it was sounded as though he were going in circles, if the heavy voice was any indication.

Pales
HEADSET: I wish I could say it was a pleasure, Reuben, but circumstances being what they are...I hope you find your way here soon too. Have you made any progress yet?

There was a soft shuffle of footsteps beside him as Warden stood next to Velda, his eyes watching the Division Leader's movements as she murmured quietly to herself, lost in her own musings. He turned his head, lifting a brow.

"Titania," he said, greeting her with a nod. It had been a long time since he had seen the woman. "Hey. Glad to see you're all right."

For now, said a tiny voice in his head, but Warden squashed it irritably. Tee made a soft noise of reassuring, gentle in his thoughts, and Warden exhaled slowly, his gaze flickering.

[LABYRINTH CENTER]

Billie glanced up from her conversation with the other Sun hunter to see a new face find their gathering. Of course the moment she stepped away from the entrance was when someone came through. What if it had been a monster? Turning her back could have been a fatal mistake.

CHILL. Dekina's voice thrummed and Billie just nodded and took a breath. Her nerves were slightly frayed and she was being a bit too hard on herself. Or was she?

Billie pushed a smile through her worry enough to give Titania a greeting. "Welcome to the party. I can't make heads or tails of any of this, but maybe you can."

Her eyes then drifted to Warden and she was sure he could see the worry there, the edginess.

[[ Isaac is still at Dead End Zone B ]]

"Wait!" Isaac shouted, watching helplessly as Lowe dashed off into the maze without another word. "Wait-- it's better if we stick together!"

Another man came and left their dead end before Isaac had a chance to say anything to him.

Frustratedly he tried to suggest: "Look, we could try marking where we've-- Adam!" But then Adam ran off and came back around, before walking off again; what was he thinking?! Isaac's chewed lips were bowed down in a very unhappy, squiggly sort of frown. One hand slipped under the brim of the cowboy hat to touch his headset.
Rabid Ice Weasel
Headset: Adam? I can barely hear you! Where are you? No, nevermind-- just try to find your way to the center, and stay safe.

They really couldn't wait around at this dead end forever. Isaac sighed, and then lowered his whip, strapping it back to his side. "I think even if we do stick together, this maze will separate us," he told Marsh. His dark eyes were full of concern. He recalled how he'd tried to follow his superiors, only to end up at a dead end the first time. "It's been a pleasure meeting you here. Stay safe, Hunter-- I'll see you at the center."

That wasn't a question; he really expected to see Marsh at the center so they could continue this conversation. He didn't want to admit he had a bit of a fondness for the guy all ready, what with his cat o' nine- so similar, and yet so incredibly different from his own prized weapon.

With a final nod, Isaac turned around and walked off as quickly and quietly as possible.
/He'll be fine, Kyanos. Don't worry./
/I'm not,/ Kyanos replied indifferently. /That's just you./

[[ Isaac is still at Dead End Zone B ]]

The whole speech thing might have been more effective, had he not wandered around in a great big circle.

Isaac came walking quickly back the way he came, and smacked sidelong into Marsh before realizing-- yes... his sense of direction was really just that lame.

"Oof--" he rebounded a little ways, staggering back, and shook his head. "Oh, I'm sorry...? But didn't I just..."
Well, this was awkward. And now he was embarrassed. He scratched the back of his neck, at a loss for words.

Good news was, Cody finally started moving. Bad news was? The idiot managed to take another wrong turn and not only get lost, but managed to trigger a trap. Which he hadn't realized he had done, up until something came flying at him.

"What is--Ow!"

:Cody you damn moron! Block! Defend yourself---do something!: Dimitri growled the order out, angered that the hunter hadn't sensed it himself.

Obeying, Cody brought the sword up, using it as a temporary shield to deflect whatever was flying at him. It worked too. After several 'clang' like noises, the assault finally stopped. Though he hadn't made it out without a scratch. There was a lovely deep cut oozing where the arrow had grazed his arm.

"This sucks..."

:Quit whining and patch yourself up. You have to get moving or you're going to get left behind.:

"Affirmative. Moving on to the next area. See you on the other side."

Heaving himself off the ground, Jared began to run in the direction he believed to be north, where he thought the center of the maze would more than likely be.He continued running, whispers beginning to kiss his ears. What were they saying? Who was there?

'You sense anything?'

< Nope... >

'Hm.'

Suddenly, Jared found more Hunters. Were they the ones whispering? He'd probably never know.

"Oh, hey.You must be lost too."

LABYRINTH CENTER

He knew the other two were probably getting a liiittle worried with his silence. And yes, he could kind of hear them. Sort of. His headset was slightly askew and between using the tight hold he had on Mordy and limping along with a hand along the wall, Lex had not been able to spare the chance to respond. And he refused to stop moving long enough to do so. Not after running into those damn traps!

::I did warn you chattering would be a damn distraction. Do not let it happen again, Lexington!::

Mordy was still pissed off about his slip up. But he'd quit shouting it. And was not snarling so much. Still growling and bitching. But he'd calmed down enough to be civil. Or as civil as the hellhound ever was.

::Focus on the mission.::

Lex traveled in silence at a slower pace then he would have liked. But the silence paid off. As he approached another section, he could hear voices. And upon coming into sight of the central area of the labyrinth, there seemed to be faint 'things' glowing - ::Glyphs...:: - and images? Were those really images? And familiar hunters. Or at least one in particular.

"Well, I must be lucky, seeing as I just found my lucky clover~" Lex gave a small flash of a smile to Becca. His leg hurt. His head hurt (god damn you, Mordy!). And it pissed the Mist Hunter off to be at partial fighting capacity. Now that he was with someone he felt relatively safe with (he used the word 'safe' loosely), Lex too the chance to adjust his headset.

Cody
Headset: Batman? Really, Librarian? Well hurry your bat-butt up then! Really, don't make me come hold your hand the entire way...

He glanced over at Becca again, a slightly more serious expression on his face. Lex nodded towards Liam and Velda. "Am I correct in making the assumption...things aren't quite going according to plan?" Wasn't the artifact supposed to be in the center? He saw nothing but the division leads looking at the glyphs.

With a sight, Lex shifted his glaive to a shoulder while he examined the damage to his leg. Nothing terribly deep. Just painful to walk on and probably needed looking to. But only if there was time for such a thing. The wound itself felt like it went from his ankle to just above his knee. But Lex was fairly sure it only went from just below his knee to his shin.

Dom half snorted at the last guess.

Keep going,” he told her casually with a mischievous glint in his eyes. As for getting more useful information out of the Life hunter, well, never mind. Funnily enough, he managed to figure out the bit about we're all gonna die from the vivid images portraying such, but the glyphs....

Can you read those?

Right. And perhaps you could enlighten us about the context?

<....>

Shut up

The Sun hunter stood there and scratched the back of his head.

D,” he muttered absentmindedly, somewhat randomly, “starts with a D.” Em got the most fleeting of glances and the hunter was back to staring at the floor again. He wondered why he was bothering so much, not being able to help with this -at all- . Innately curious, maybe. Not too much about his doom though.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Mira drew out her machete as she stepped into the labyrinth. She always feeling safer when Silverfang was out of his sheath. She decided that she didn't care for mazes as a nagging feeling of getting lost forever in it slowly crept up the back of her neck. It was a silly thought, a childish thought and that at least brought out a small smile. One never got too old for silly worries.

When she took her next step, there was a sharp clicking sound. "Move," Silverfang whispered but she was already swinging her body around to dodge the arrows flying her way. She was a fraction of a second too slow and took an arrow into her upper left arm.

"Dammit," she cursed, sheathing Silverfang before tearing a strip of fabric from her shirt. She turned to assess the damage. It hadn't gone all the way through. Good. Bracing her back against the wall and gritting her teeth, she pulled the arrow out and dropped it to the ground. She tied the cloth tightly around her arm and grimaced. It was a good thing that her weapon was one handed and that she was right handed but it wasn't a good sign that she was injured this early into the mission. Perhaps she really was getting too old for this s**t.
