Hearing someone call him out, Deryk stopped singing again and looked around. Ariane wasn't too far off and she was waving him over. Grinning, he happily made his way over before throwing his arms around her. "MERRY CHRISTMAS ARIANE!" he chimed. He then saw Minerva and Otto there too, "And to you too! Man. Isn't this like the best Christmas ever? I want it to last. FOREVER! Always Christmas. Never not Christmas."

Minerva's attention bounced from Jeremy to Ariane, to Otto and his candy cane and then back; lips peeling cheekily, cheeks still tinged pink bashfully, as the compliments came and the greetings were made. “Hehe, why thank you! I think we’re all looking mighty fine today!” And it was true! She had never been to a party like this! So much awesome! The only thing close to a party the woman had time for were her school dances.. and those comprised of nothing more than shiny short dresses and dry humping on the dance floors.
Ah, high school. How she did not miss you~
“Oh?” To Eva’s whisper, the trainee replied. That was right! Tedan and Gale had fallen under the mistletoe together! They couldn’t break tradition! At least not when Minnie was around. “It would be bad luck otherwise, right? I’ll do it!” Her own murmurs were a bit too loud, the excitement in her voice uncontrollable. But she looked genuine in her rise to full height and her quick turn to face the boys. A few others had come along to join the party, Deryk in particular receiving a wide-eyed welcome. “OH MY GOD YOU ARE HERE!” Why she needed to sound so surprise? Joy formula. Of course. “I’m so glad! Yaaaay Deryk! You look SO FANTASTIC! I totally agree I want it to be Christmas every day for the rest of eternity! MERRY CHRISTMASS!” Like she had done with Gale, Tedan, and Wilson, Minerva shuffled over to hug on Deryk’s side (careful not to interrupt his hug between Ariane) before returning to the puppy-suited trainee and her English-born friend. “So..” Taking a hand to Tedan’s shoulder, the woman bent forward with a grin.
“You two still need to kiss! Or.. dance, or something! Come on it’s for Christmas! Won’t it be fun?! Plus I don't want you guys getting any bad luck if you don't follow through with the mistletoe rules!” Kissing was fun, right? She had never done it, but it looked like fun with Cass and her man were doing it!

Normally, she would do something like wonder wtf was wrong with Deryk, and probably push him away. However, the JOY had done something to her thought process, and she found herself returning the hug, even yelling "AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, DERYK! HAVE YOU MET JEREMY?" with a huge grin on her lips, pointing at her sorta date for the night to introduce the two. She even nodded in agreement at the 'Christmas forever' comment made. However, something else soon got her attention and she paused.
WHOA WHOA WHOA.
Kissing? They wanted Gale to kiss this... This dude?
"No homo," She raised her hands as she looked at Gale and then Tedan, since Minerva had directed her attention over to the two, with... Was that Eva with mistletoe at the end of something? Well, if it's mistletoe, they would have to kiss. Minerva's right; it's tradition after all, "Unless it's in the spirit of Christmas, of course! KISS KISS KISS. Or there shall be no presents for the both of you." She was staring at Gale and Tedan as she said that.
"Even Bix is doing it!" She pointed out helpfully with a chuckle, her grin widening as she pointed at the hunter dressed as santa.

Before the boys had a chance to respond, Minnie was looking over to Ariane with a ridiculously wide grin. She made a good point, one that would HOPEFULLY force the two of them cooperate.. since who didn't want presents?! The trainee continued to push the issue now that another girl had joined in!
"RIGHT! No presents for you two if you don't! Them be the rules and you don't break the rules..!" As Ariane pointed off to the man in a santa suit, Minnie released a snort and also pointed. "Haha oh yes! Look at Bix goooo! GO BIX! See it isn't so bad?" They could even kiss on the cheek if they wanted, but what fun would that be?

Bix had some new victims in his sights and they were loitering around the food table. He did a weird belly jiggle move. "In a one horse open sleeeeigh.. o'er the fields we go.. killing monsters all the waaaayyy HEEEY HEY HEEEY!" The albino hunter smooshed himself very roughly between Marcus and Cass. "Whoaaahohohooooo." He wriggled the fat belly in with him. He leaned in to kiss Cass politely on the cheek... but then, "MISTLETOE. MARCUS. KISS ME!!" Bix was definitely JOY-high.. but also maybe trying to annoy Marcus but that wasn't likely to work on a day like today. He grabbed the moon hunter by the cheeks and planted a fat one right on his lips. before Marcus could respond, Bix had jiggled away. "Reeeeine my Christmas pranking lovely!" He smooched her on the cheek and then planted one on Wilson even though he barely knew the guy.

It was with a lot of patience and a forced smile (god, having to force a smile even with all the JOY) that Reine turned away from Marcreep and the girl who she assumed was his girlfriend. It was her cupcake that received her full attention, and then when she'd finished it, she surreptitiously picked up a cookie. Was Reine that hungry? She had no idea!
It was just.. all that food there was begging to be eaten. Reine could see them just reaching out to her, with c: faces, saying 'EAT ME'. Like in Alice in Wonderland! And the added JOY was making her feel pretty good, too.
Good enough to only react to Bix's kiss on her cheek with a squeak and a blush, instead of a slap across the face. "Hiiiii!" She giggled at him. "Didn't bring any fake snow today, huh?" Picking up a santa-hat cupcake, she passed it to him.
"TRY ONE," she encouraged. "They're really good!"

It truly was a sight at all that she chose to come to the gala. Ceres really was not someone for such openly social ordeals... later on she will probably blame the joy on her final decision. Not to mention her choice of dress. The dress itself was a simple red and white. It was A-line, and was pretty short and poofy. What made her stand out the most was... probably the fact she was also wearing candy cane striped red and white stockings to match.
Oh and a holly broach in her hair. you needed a little green with red!
All the same, she was here on her own accord and wandering around some. Settling on taking a cookie from the table, she munched on it absent-mindedly while staring up at the decorations. Like the good elf she thought she was... she hummed a tune between bites. "Rockin' around the christmas tree..."

"Hmm-hmmmm." Like a really creepy Mrs. Claus ninja, Julie somewhat-magically appeared behind Bix, accidentally bumping the trainee forward so that the cheek smooch towards Wilson sort of transformed into a lip-to-lip one.
Not noticing the little accident at all, the Moon Hunter surveyed the landscape, eye-ing the few dancers on the floor. "No no, this will not do." She finally concluded, "What we need are more dancers. Yes, a gala is not the best gala ever without more dancers."
With that, she brandished her bells, and weaved through the crowds, first spotting sight of Deryk and dragging him towards Ariane. "Off to the dance floor, you two, make it good now!" They didn't even have a chance to protest before she shoved the two on their merry way.
The next couple matchmaker Julie set her eyes on was Wilson, whom she pretty much pulled out of his lip-lock with Bix, to hold hands with Minerva. "You two match so perfectly", she sighed dreamily. They didn't match at all actually...
Eva and Gale were relatively easy to match together, the Moon Hunter making short work of shoving them onto the dance floor before she proceeded to grab Reine and Tedan because "they were both beautiful spies fated for death", whatever that meant. Ceres and Jeremy was a harder match to make, but she figured the spirit of Christmas and Giving would sort out the rest for that pair before she moved on to the Lone Soldier Otto. Oh Otto, he should really not celebrate Christmas alone. Not wanting him to feel too left out, she quickly grabbed Otto, dragged him through the crowds until she found her helper, one Clarice Sinclaire.
Before Clarice could say another word Julie uttered brightly and rather loudly "Isn't dancing the most helpful thing ever? I mean I'm pretty sure at the North Pole the best dancers get to be Santa's very special helpers every single Christmas."
That having been done and over with, she grabbed Bix and decided to take the spotlight because clearly as Mr. and Ms. Claus, they were of course, the best dancers. IF YOU HAVE BEEN QUOTE TAGGED YOU ARE NOW PART OF THE XMAS DANCE COMPETITION - Proceed with your assigned partner onto the dance floor to show that you two are the best dancers ever. Be sure to quote your partner as well. - When on the dance floor, roll a 20-sided dice and quote your dance partner. The higher the score equals the better they did. HOWEVER, their partner must also quote their dance partner and roll a 20-sided dice. This also determines how well they did. So if one person rolls high and the other low, one person is really good and the other sucks. - Make sure for this that BOTH PLAYERS note at the bottom of their post that they are trying for the dance competition. - There will also be a nice OOC prize for this as well (choice of a rare minipet to each winner)

Julie wasn't a bad dancer, per se, and she wasn't by far the best but at least she wasn't stepping on anyone's toes here, maybe except for the occasional once or twice, though it was hard to tell if this was intentional. "Hmmm Tony," she all but carried her partner around, "I think you need to put more passion into your step, where is your power of love?"

She had been far too busy waggling her finger at Tedan and Gale, shifting closer to Ariane to nudge her with an elbow, egging on the kiss that needed to happen. She was also about to make a B-line toward the desserts table just as soon as the two had planted a solid one.. But when her hand was wrapped in Wilson's thanks to a certain Mrs. Claus, Minerva's duty to uphold the mistletoe rules was put on hold. "Ohh~! YAAAY!" She cheered, brows lifting while Minnie's hazel gaze fell upon her new dance partner. "I guess we didn't have to be dates to participate in the contest!" Which was a good thing, because she really wanted to try out for it.. despite her two left feet. Just before she turned to be whisked away, the trainee caught sight of Gale's intimate moment with Tedan, biting down on her lip excitedly.
 "You go, boy!" He had done it. Good man. Good man.
Curling her arm about Wilson's just as she had done once before, Minerva leaned her head against him with a dramatic sigh. "Just so you know, I'm a terrible dancer! I hope you can put up with me!" But who cared about that, right? This was about having fun! And hopefully Wilson would have amazing foot work and would make up for her lack of skill. Urging him forward so they could begin, the trainee went to twirl away from him while still holding onto his hand..
Only to fall backwards onto her rear end. Heels were DEFINITELY not practical. Definitely not.

Wait. Wait. DANCING? WhosaidanythingaboutDANCING?Before she knew it the raven haired woman was shuffled off and practically tossed at her dance partner. Ironically enough... he was almost her total opposite. Dark skinned to her pale, blond to her black hair, Gold eyes to her cerulean. It was rather ironic, actually. "Um.. Hi!" What a way to meet someone, jeeze Julie! Leading her partner to the floor Ceres thought briefly on the up side of this adventure. It was a competition, and with the added Joy effects plus her own want to win at all things... it was a deadly combo. Plus behind all of the shy outer shell, she was not that bad of a dancer.

For some reason Gale could hear some music in his head as Bix approached...
And the thought of no presents made him very unhappy, thanks to Ariane. Even if he was no homo and would much rather be kissing the girl who had just danced away giggling instead of a male hunter several years older than he was.
"Fine!" Gale said hastily and reached up, grabbed the collar around puppy Tedan's neck, pulled him down to his level and landed a quick kiss right on the other's lips for a good few seconds before letting go.
"There," he said in satisfaction while completely ignoring Jinhai's hysterical, gasping laughter in his head.
Then he promptly darted away in an attempt to hide from Bix.
Except Julie's hand shot out of nowhere and suddenly Gale was shoved towards Eva, staggering forward and almost running into her in the process.
"Er," he said. "What?"

Everyone wanted his giant Candy Cane. O_____OOtto stared blankly at those eyeing it, wondering what a good elf would do. He rather liked it and wanted it as his punishment stick. Like an Elf Enforcer. Eva`s hug was met with a grunt at first, but then as the Joy Formula reminded him how wonderful Christmas was, he grinned back to her. And then, Mrs. Clause herself was pairing them off. As Otto was dragged toward Clarice, Otto did not have it in him to disobey the boss's wife! Not after that speech she gave Clarice. They might win Santa's favor!!! Otto scratched his neck sheepishly, still holding onto his giant, oversize candy cane. "Er.. well.. I'm not much of a dancer, but if the Clause herself asks it..." He held out a hand uncertainly. For Christmas.He still refused to put down the giant confection.

Cass stared as Bix suddenly cut in between herself and Marcus and kissed the boy straight on the lips. There was a welling up of jealousy inside the mist hunter. "No! No no no!" she thwacked 'Santa' as he ran off again, before she grabbed onto Marcus herself and planted a kiss on him as well in her jealous fervor (which probably made for an awesomely fueled kiss) that Bix had kissed her man.
She then stared off at the Claus-dance-off going on and pouted.
"MARCUS." Her voice was suddenly loud. "WE HAVE TO BEAT BIXYCLAUS."

Oh wow! A kiss from Santa? Did this mean he approved? Did she have the job? No, he wouldn't be satisfied with just that, as Mrs. Clause so clearly pointed out not long after. Elves needed to be able to dance. She wasn't really sure why, but Mrs. Claus wouldn't lie to her or try to manipulate her. Plus Otto was adorable, and she clearly didn't mind taking his available hand and sweeping him out onto the dance floor. "Lets do this!"While not perfect, she felt they put they put on a good showing. Beaming, she proceeded to dip him. "So what do you want for Christmas Otto?"
