Yin made a slight face at the idea of candy. Sugar was not meat, nor a byproduct of meat. It sounded less than appealing but he could possibly give it a chance. "If you insist," he murmured softly, already scheming of how he would avoid it.

The mantodae watched the zomboil start forward, heading toward the rest of the cafeteria and then, almost in slow motion the blob began to reform and send out...something. Not again. It was too late for him to warn the boil, and he could only be grateful that it did not attack. In fact he was rather proud of how quickly Alexander managed to attack the creature.

Well, now was as good a time as any, and though the stench filling his nostrils turned his stomach his FEAR seemed to have recovered. He dismissed the oddity, at least it gave him a chance to start working on proving his worth. He gathered his FEAR, balling his hands into fists, and started toward the blob.

Before he could reach it though another jolt of cramping and renewed itchiness flooded over him. His FEAR responded by fluctuating again, plummeting down to almost nothing as he doubled over. He almost thought he heard the tell-tale popping of his bones, a noise associated with him resuming his natural form, but he fought it, struggling to keep in control of his own body. The pain and sensations were oddly familiar, but with so many things happening he could not seem to focus enough to remember why it was familiar. And there was always the possibility that it was more JOY flooding his system, being so close to another enemy.

"Candy's tasty. Alex is right, you should try some. Hey, the thing... melted!" As the pudding deflated, Mitzi perked up and started forward to look at it. Having it fall that quickly was kind of a relief, she really was getting fed up with all these things attacking. She nudged it with one toe, trying not to get any goop on her shoe. "Is it open?" she called over to the zomboil as he went to check on the cafeteria lines.

She'd barely said the words when the pudding grew again, and she scrambled backwards until it finally stopped growing. Frustrated yet again, she took two steps forward and kicked the sugary mass.

Ew. Now she had pudding glop on her shoe.

Alex could tell that the weremantis was not fine. He was acting a little....fidgety? He frowned. Was this just another mantodae thing that Alex new absolutely nothing about?

The way that Yin refused Alex's help hurt the zomboils feelings a little bit. Yin was always putting himself forward as the protector, and it wasn't fair that when Alex wanted to pay him back, the weremantis wouldn't allow it.

Well, Alex wasn't going to just stand back and let it slide. He'd already decided he was going with Yin, and nothing was going to stop him. He had a zombies determination, after all!

He hadn't meant to ignore the Reaper ghoul, but he'd gotten so wrapped up in his own thoughts and worrying over Yin, that it happened that way anyways. With not even a glance back towards the pudding monster, he began to follow Yin out. Luckily the boil was going slow enough that Alex could keep up!

Without anything better to do, Thackery was busying himself by collecting all of the nearby cafeteria furniture and smashing it up against the pudding. The massive, smelly abomination was almost entirely penned in before he realized the other students were...leaving?

How were they going to beat this dumb thing up if everyone was gone? He couldn't do this by himself!

"Hey, hey! We need help in here!" he called, but was met with the same silence that the ghoul got. They were gone.

He glanced over at her, looking heavily overwhelmed.

"Any ideas?"

The inquiry was punctuated with a hipcheck to a nearby table, which jostled against the pudding, but didn't seem to really have any effect.

"A long time," Thackery said, sighing a bit melodramatically. "It's been through three uh. It gets all flat and then comes back scarier and smellier?"

He gestured towards the pudding in its current state, which looked much more like an inhabitant of Halloween than Christmas at this point.

"It's being really frustrating, yeah, so I tried to pen it in-" The tables scraped and shuddered across the floor with the pudding's movements. They were highly ineffective as fencing materials. "Tried being important there..." He gave the closest table another shove into the thing, hoping to display his escalating level of annoyance to their minion-creating foodly enemy.

When he turned his attention from the pudding to Mitzi, his demeanor seemed to immediately flipflop. He smiled brightly, and though he struggled to push the table backwards to potentially smush the pudding in half, she now had his full attention. He couldn't have other students thinking he was rude. That would be terrible for his reputation.

"I'm Thackery! One of the Cerberus brothers. I don't think I've seen you around before, so hi!" His tail might have wagged if it were not wedged against the table edge. "If you want to get out, we can try to make it move away...but I think it needs to go down. I just don't know how to kill it."

When Mitzi summoned her weapon and began to attack the goop (it really couldn't be called 'pudding' at this point), Thackery's eyes lit up, his fervor for combat seemingly reignited. He didn't know many reapers, and seeing them in action was even more rare, so watching her smack away at it was-

"So cool," he mused aloud, head titled to the side. He wanted a weapon, too - and not just the stubborn hellhound puppies. Something badass.

His solution was, of course, anything but. He removed one of his belts with a quick snap and brandished it at the JOY-ish menace, smacking at it with the adept skill of someone who had absolutely no idea what he was doing. Somehow, he managed to speak between the lashes.

"Oh! Welcome, and all that stuff! You might not have heard yet. My brothers and I are triplets, descended from the guardian who was tricked by the Gorgons. Just like in the myths." His (somewhat hyperbolic) explanation was generally pleasant until the last bit, which turned sour and venomous. "Do you like it here? Aside from..." The wiggling mound got another smack to its exterior, indicating his exception.

This was not his day, Mirac thought irritably as he stalked down the hall with precise, methodical movements. The single chain around his body barely clanked or rattled, so tightly was it wrapped around him. The revenant paused for a moment, looking at the map in one skeletal hand before moving further down the hall. The cafeteria had to be around here somewhere, dammit.

"The things I do for a simple sandwich," he muttered. He hadn't wanted to leave his studies in his dorm, not with all the snow coating everything, and the strange... stink that seemed to be permeating the air. Speaking of which, that nauseating stench was growing stronger the closer he got to the cafeteria. "I hope that isn't today's lunch."

Mirac pushed through the double-doors and paused at the chaos before him. A massive... thing was oozing its way towards two other students, one who was using his belt to attack it, and a female who seemed defenseless.

The stench hit Mirac, and the revenant nearly went down to his knees. This thing definitely didn't belong here. He grabbed the chain, felt the links snap free and wrap around his hand. A quick snap had the chain whipping through the air and wrapping around the leg of a table.

"The things I do for a bloody sandwich," he muttered as he flicked his wrist, sending the table flying through the air towards the blob.
