Courtney Berkly Courtney smiled at each of the suggestions that Zooey mentioned, she just really needed to get some energy out and games seemed like a perfect idea. Courtney picked up a piece of fudge and ate it before speaking. "Apples to apples sounds fun! Courtney smiled enthusiastically.

Todd Brandt Todd blinked unexpectedly when he looked up to see Saki and Justin already kissing and then the tears of saddness that came forth shortly after. He looked away lowering his eyes to the ground. Its not a joke.... Deep in thought Todd swallowed and looked up at Zooey and Brett whispering to each other. Had his harsh words got him into trouble again he wondered? He tried to shake off his gloominess. He didn't want to keep himself down in this state of mind when he was surrounded by friends. He really wished he knew who the girl was that picked him now so he could apologize to her but alas who was it? Todd stood up straighter and made his why back to the couches. As he passed Zooey he forced a small smile in her direction before looking away and walked over to sit down on the couch and waited for them to decide what to play. He wouldn't mind anything and apples to apples sounded fine.

Zooey was about to scoot over and make more room for Brett when he whispered something to her. Zooey smiled sadly and shook her head, staring down at her hands. "It's silly, really," she whispered back. "But I'll get over it..." She turned to Brett and smiled. "Thank you, though." She then turned her attention to Todd as he walked past and returned his smile.

Rachel stuck out her tongue. "Labels, labels, labels," she said, shaking her head. "If you haven't noticed, Brett and I like you. You're our friend. If people just took the time to get to know you they'd see how great of a person you are and they'd understand why you're 'emo'..." Rachel paused, wondering if she had said too much. Her face turned pink and she tried to cover it up by opening Apples to Apples and sorting out the cards.
Brett watched Zooey's actions out of the corner of his eye as he finally took a sip of his drink. "If you say so," he said softly, looking at his friend with a smile. He placed a comforting hand on her knee before resting it on his own. He then leaned on the arm of the love seat and watched his sister set up the game. "We don't have all day, you know," he said with a smirk.

Sakura Ai Tsukiyomi  Saki smiled at Justin. "You'll get fat like that you know." she said. She walked over to Rachel and Brett. She took a coin out of her pocket and threw it at Brett's forehead. "You say something like that one more time and I'll make sure it takes you a month to heal." she said with a sadist smile. "I don't like that you said I wasted no time. I just wanted to not think about it for the whole party and not have fun." she said. "Well, I don't care, it ended up ok." she muttered to herself. "Come on, let's play."

"Oww!" Brett yelled, rubbing his forehead when Saki's coin had hit him. He was about to ask her why she had done such a thing when she explained herself. "I was joking," he said, glaring at his pink-haired friend. "I don't think it deserved that kind of reaction." He continued rubbing his forehead as he got up to look at the damage in the mirror above the snack table.
Rachel looked up and James and smiled. "You're welcome," she said, her cheeks reddening a little more. "Anyways," she was about to explain Apples to Apples when Saki walked in and attacked Brett. Rachel looked at the two with wide eyes and decided to stay out of it. Looking back at James, she held up the decks of cards that were in her hands. "One person acts as the judge for each round. He or she will flip the top green card, which is an adjective. Everyone else has to look at their red cards and choose a noun that best fits the green card. The judge then chooses their favorite red card and whoever put down that card wins the round. The first person to collect X number of cards is the winner."

Justin Fletcher  Justin smiled at the mention of the game, then busted out laughing when Saki popped a headshot on Brett with a coin. "Sorry, Brett, but it was kinda funny." He apologized to his friend. As Rachel explained the rules, Justin nodded, eager to play. He had played this before, so he was glad to play with his friends. He ate another cookie, ignoring Saki's joke about eating too much, then went back to being excited.

Zooey watched the interaction between Brett and Saki in amazement. For someone as cute and bubbly as Saki, she could be pretty scary at times. Zooey joined Brett at the snack table and helped herself to some fudge and punch. "You okay?" she asked Brett with a giggle. She turned around and listened to Rachel explain the game before returning to her seat. "Just deal the cards, Rach. If you have any questions during the game, James, just ask."

Courtney Berkly Courtney laughed at the scene with Saki and Brett, while she didn't approve of violence it was still a funny scene that played out before her. She wanted to spout off something along the lines of 'It couldn't have hurt that bad,' but she refrained because she didn't want to be the next one to take a coin to the head. After that Courtney then helped Rachel set up apples to apples even though it wasn't a very hard game to set up. After the game was set up and before they started playing a sudden thirst hit Courtney. "Wow, I'm kind of thirsty, do you guys have anything to drink? She looked at Rachel and asked politely.

Todd Brandt Todd looked from Brett to Saki blankly. Saki was a little violent so more or less a relief that she didn't pick him and picked Justin instead. Todd leaned over the couch to look at the apples to apples they were setting up. He only played it once before. Todd hesitated before replying "...There is punch and juice at the snack table." He pointed out quietly. He looked over and noticed Zooey and Brett talking again but pretended not to notice as he looked away and stared off into space. He was looking at the cards that were being laid out and listened quietly to Rachel's instructions. He smiled a little trying to stay pleasant as he waited for them to get started.

Brett chuckled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just caught me by surprise... and she hit me where I... Nevermind..." Brett gave Zooey a small smile before sitting down again. He kept his hand on his forehead while he watched his sister until he started staring off. Only his family knew that he had brain surgery when he was just a few years old. His skull had never healed properly so he had a sensitive area on his forehead. That was why he always kept his hair long to hide the scar.
Rachel heard what Brett said and her stomach dropped. She had almost forgotten about her brother's surgery. She looked up at him with worry on her face until he noticed she was staring. Brett gave her a thumb up and Rachel smiled. "We play youngest goes first," she said, addressing everyone else. "And that would be Brett. So after him we'll just go clockwise around the room. Shall we play until someone collects five green cards?"
Brett flipped over the top green card. "Smelly," he said with a chuckle. Although he could not put down a red card this round, he still looked at his to see what he would have played.

"Five sounds fine to me," Zooey said, taking the red cards that were hers. She giggled when Brett flipped "smelly" and started looking through her options. She then turned to Brett, trying to figure out if she should go with something that fit or something totally bizarre. Looking down at her cards again, she placed "Cow-Pies" face-down on the coffee table.
