Super Sailor Requiem stepped out of the mirror when her Dark Princess Ares offered her hand to her, standing firmly on the tossed aside dirt from her barren planet. She didn't expect any of the Negaverse agents to be pleased with their new alliance - she wasn't completely comfortable in the alliance herself. The thought of working alongside General-Queen Tanzanite still terrified and sickened her, and she had apologies to make to other agents including Generals Wolframite and Uranophane. But the alliance was what was needed to be done, and the sense of hostility from all the Negaverse agents rattled her nerves, fueling her body with adrenaline and confidence.

There were many familiar faces among the crowd, others newer and less familiar. The short parallel Senshi of Burial stood firm, keeping her silent composure the best she could. Her stern demeanor only broke during Ares's delivery of punishment to the General Hematite, which she responded to with a light girlish giggle as she watched his misfortune.

Silly General. You don't ******** with the Dark Princess.

"The hostility in this room is delicious," she chimed in, thriving on the still bitterness of the moment. "It may be some comfort to you agents that we do not expect your immediate forgiveness, but this is neither the time nor place to resolve our individual grievances."

Requiem then finally looked at Tanzanite, her first time laying eyes on her since the night of her escape from their torture camp. "I must say, Tanzanite, I would have expected someone with your presence to have subordinates with more obedience and respect."

"Sailor, this amount of respect for you is on the generous side."

Serandite's tone was positively venomous, her smile acridly sweet. Perhaps it was the girlish giggle that had set it off .. or simply, Sailor Requiem's words. Serandite may not have liked Hematite as a human being but you do not man-handle Generals. This one had the audacity to laugh-- a privilege that would have rewarded a member of the negaverse their own death sentence. Why not Sailor Requiem's? Silly Requiem, you do not mess with the negaverse.

Immediate forgivable? Individual grievances? The Dark Moon court had fueled a hell of a lot more than that.

Dark Princess or not, chaos or not .. Had Sailor Requiem expected a warmer reception? Because this was as warm as it got. The flame which they fanned wasn't likely to cool down anytime soon, a ripple of resentment finally making it's way into the female General. Requiem's cool provocation riled Serandite, insinuating that the negaverse was lacking.

Insinuate that their General Queen was lacking. It wasn't a feeling exclusive to General Queen Tanzanite-- such a comment addressed to any member would have been equally effective. But in a room nearly ready to explode, Sailor Requiem's words had been a close call to a detonator.

Tanzanite was silent.

While the room around her broke out into chaos, the General-Queen stood quietly in place. Her brows did not arch in question or narrow in anger. Her lips did not lift in a smile or bend in disappointment. For all the emotion that showed on her pale features, one might have thought her only as alive as the dismembered statues that littered the floor. Even as Hematite stuck the dagger of her own inhumanity in her blackened heart and twisted it, the Youma Queen remained unnaturally still, not even looking up to the dark-skinned General as he spoke. The only sign of emotion to be seen was in the way her hands slowly curled into fists at her side, until black blood pooled beneath her fingernails and hit the floor with a soft drip, drip, drip that was lost in the din.

As Ares spoke, and even went so far as to lay a hand on the General. To whisk him away to prove her point. As the people she had fought for, died for, and worse than died for rose up against her as though she would so thoughtlessly lead them to ruin. As Wolframite pleaded for her to tell him something, anything, to make what was happening make any sense at all. Even as they turned on one another, bickering like children, Tanzanite was simply silent. She remained so for what seemed a long while, listening to what was being said. Watching what was being done. She noted those who had turned to follow Hematite and had openly insulted her in the process. She even watched calmly as Ajoite rolled his eyes at her like some displeased child.

When finally she spoke, Tanzanite was unusually quiet, but that two-tone voice cut through the noise like a knife. The soft, human tone just slightly more audible than the youma's harsh, supernatural rasp.

“How. Dare. I.”

The echo of Hematite's words was slow, each spoken as though she required just a little extra time to swallow down the bile that preceded it. Tanzanite paused, her features turning as though she found the words foul of taste. The General-Queen turned from them in disgust, as though what little remained of her heart could no longer bear the sight of them. She turned to the very same window from which she had pushed the insubordinate Lieutenants only moments before, and looked out over her home.

“How dare I stand beside you all and think that we were brothers. Sisters. More than an army to be blindly commanded by whoever holds a throne. To grant you the right to know why.

How dare I fight alongside you in Elysion, in countless other battles, and assume I had earned your trust.

How dare I die for you, and believe that I had earned your respect.”

Silence fell once more, and though they could not see it – she would never let them see it – there was a sadness in Tanzanite's eyes as she looked out over the ruined city. It had all led to this moment, after all. The wars of their past and the battles of the present, all building up to the moment that they might have even a chance to bring it all to an end.

“How dare I think that you could understand that if I would allow them here, in the only home I have left. That if I would invite the same people who broke my body, burnt out my tongue, killed my General-King, and took my life into the only refuge left for me on Earth, that perhaps there is a reason.”

Tanzanite turned back only when she was confident that her eyes would not betray her disappointment, and set her gaze upon Hematite. She looked at the young man who had known her from the day she'd been recruited, before she'd lost her arm and her humanity with it.

“You are right, General Hematite,” she said softly, “How dare I let my great big youma heart bleed for the likes of you. Princess Ares,” she changed track suddenly, “You will not touch another of my men, unless you would like that kindness revisited upon one of yours. I cannot send them to space, but I can and will send them straight to Hell.”

It was neither a warning nor a threat, but simply a statement of her intentions. Like the Princess, she could not be disrespected on her own ground and let it slide. Allied though they may be, it was not the Dark Moon Princess's job to keep Hematite and his infuriatingly big mouth in line. There was clearly no love lost between the two women. Their alliance was one of necessity, not friendship. Had Tanzanite not been bound to Metallia's will, it might not have occurred at all.

The General-Queen laced her hands behind her back as she then turned to face the spark that had lit the fire of the Blood Hill Battle; Sailor Requiem.

“Little girl,” she said as she slowly approached, stopping a few feet short. Every spine from the heels of her feet to the crown that ringed her forehead seemed to be alive, standing upright with tension that did not come through in her monotone drawl. Her wings spread out behind her, claws flexing as though they itched to rip the little thing limb from limb. The Youma Queen lowered her eyes to lock upon the newly corrupted young woman, as though little Sailor Requiem was the only girl in that very crowded room.

Tanzanite leaned in, her arms still clasped behind her back, and whispered softly into the girl's ear.

“If you look at me after I am finished talking to you, I will eat your eyes straight out of your skull. If you speak to me, I will rip out your teeth one by one and feed your tongue to my youma. And if you so much as whisper my name, I will gut you like a very small, very weak little fish, and you will watch your bowels spill out of you before you die.

Just like you let Nemesis do to me.”

Tanzanite leaned away, and turned back to the rest.

“General-Queen Laurelite will be delivering your first assignments. Those of you who are to go beyond our planet with General Zinkenite will be called when you are needed. The rest of you will continue your duties here on Earth,” she said as she stepped down from the dais and headed for the door. It was easy to see as she passed why the General-Queen was taking her leave. It was visible in the blackness that crept in at the corners of her eyes, in the way the scales along her cheeks seemed to claim more and more of that pale skin. Tanzanite did not look at them as she strode quietly through the crowd and out the door.

Only when she was well away from it, and them, would she let the darkness take over.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 19, 2011 12:52 pm

Zinkenite was going to have his hands full, that much was transparent, even to a newly recruited Lieutenant, who pressed his knuckles to his lower lip and scowled blackly as he watched the chaos unfold. The angry shouts, the protests of terror, and even Hematine's demand for everyone to draw their weapons (He didn't, if partially because throwing small pieces of metal into the fray right now would have been as detrimental to the Negaverse as to these strange Senshi.)

What the difference between them in their black bodices was from the other senshi with which the Negaverse apparently worked was... less than clear from where he was standing, but he was reasonably sure he'd be able to find out more. One thing was obvious, they'd stomped their cutesy little slippers onto the broken fragments that used to be the collective 'team' of the Negaverse (more or less) and were grinding them into any weak point that hadn't yet shattered.

If they'd once been unified, they weren't now. The full extent of the fractures might show in the next full minutes, in outright rebellion, or it might take days, weeks... months... and the longer it took the more dangerous he felt it would be. It gave people time to start to resent each other more deeply, and the more members of a team resented each other, the more tempting it was for them to throw each other under the bus.

If anyone was familiar with that temptation, he was.

Nasty bunch of bitches...

He'd never been tortured by the BMC, but he didn't need that to want to have a chance to grind his fist into Requiems teeth. She might have been a snip of a girl, but it had been made pretty damn clear that this was war, and that kids... teens... were involved, and ready to fight back. She could stick any sense of chivalry she might have been expecting in her ear.

Really... REALLY?

She hadn't liked Uranophane's comment, but it was the sort of thing she could have brushed aside. The words from Zinkenite though... who she had trusted and even felt fairly close though... and then Lyra too?

Dahlia did not try to hide the look of disapointment in her eyes as they cast their glance towards the General. 'Et tu Brute' Even in the silence her expression was clear enough to read.

What made her any different then the dark princess at the front of the room? She once too had been their enemy... at some point she had to have done things to them, or atleast helped to organize things done against them as well. Perhaps it was not so drastic. But regardless... did they hold her with such contempt and distrust as they were showing now?

They'd all seemed so nice before... so receptive to the mauvian.. perhaps it had all been a facade. Or maybe... maybe they just found her so entirely... unworthy of worrying about? A mere tool to use that they didn't have to worry about in any other regards.

Zinkenite received no words, only that look of betrayal. And Lyra... Dahlia wanted to mention that someone so ruthless and strong would be a GREAT ally to them. That having something to do the dirty work and who wouldn't back down was something they should be thanking their lucky stars about.

But she was too hurt... too opposed to having them cut her and her opinion down once more. Maybe she hadn't been her forever and didn't know anything.. But maybe it was them that were blinded by their extreme bias and hatred.

Her cheek brushed against Lyra's arm, a empty affection and farewell as she leapt from the senshi's arm. Things were going to hell in a hand basket around them. Ares had captured someone. Tanzanite had left.

Dahlia weaved through legs making her way nearer to Ares and the remaining General Queen. Listening.. watching.. For the first time in a very long time Dahlia had no desire to be touched. She would prove that she was something worth worrying about. More than just some tool for upgrading senshi or comforting the ranks.

Laurelite stepped forward in the wake of Tanzanite leaving the area, the stoic calm on the aftermath of the storm. Where there had been a whole host of reactions to the recent development -- anger, confusion, arguing amongst the ranks -- she had stood her ground with characteristic placidity, as if she were a drop of oil to the rising waters of emotion abound. She quietly occupied the space where the taller General-Queen had once stood, her gaze scanning the faces of the Negaverse before her hands unclasped from her back, and she began to speak.

"Your reactions to these circumstances are all understandable. None of us were expecting an open-arms reception to the Dark Mirror Court... however, let's not lose track of the words that opened this meeting in the first place." Mint-colored eyes narrowed, and pointed purposefully up at the dark and roiling would-be sky at the Rift. It was an invitation to consider the real sky above the planet Earth, and the planets and stars that existed beyond.

A moment later her attentions had turned back to the crowd. "Every moment we spend debating here is a moment wasted," she continued, a tinge of bitterness detectable in her voice. "The Zodiac senshi and their allies are already taking action against us. They failed in taking the Earth from us directly... so now they're trying to corner us from the outside like they did in the past. The Surrounding is just the beginning of this... just the border of the regime they want to impose. We must put a stop to this."

As far as Laurelite was painting the picture, it was going to be the Silver Millenium all over again... and they weren't even going to need Serenity or the Silver Crystal to realize that goal. Her petite form began to pace across the floor before them, a gaze full of urgency occasionally flickering towards one or more of the officers.

"There are a few things in need of doing. First, we need intelligence officers to track senshi activities. We need to know to the best of our ability what's going on at the Surrounding. There might be a way to sabotage some of their operations and buy us more time in the process. Use any means necessary to get information directly from senshi if the opportunity presents itself. If they refuse to talk, take their Sailor Crystal instead." The General-Queen said as much with more sternness to her voice than she normally allowed herself.

Another pause, another breath, another few steps across the floor. "Second, we need a consistent rate of energy collection. Any method will work... but larger, more streamlined operations are preferred. This effort needs as much as we can get. If you're interrupted by the enemy, take star seeds instead. You should never be coming back to us empty handed. A large portion of this energy will be used for the final portion of our mission..."

Finally she stopped, and turned to fully face the crowd again.

"Many of you must be curious about the Surrounding itself," she continued. "It is a formidable obstacle... one that only the power of a Great Crystal could have allowed the senshi to build. If we are to completely halt this Zodiac operation, then we need to be able to match that power..." Her eyes went half-lidded, almost reminiscent, and one thin arm reached outward in a sweeping gesture towards the landscape behind her. "We have no such Crystal of our own... but the Negaverse does have its own Greats..." The corners of her lip turned upward in a confident smirk.

"And we can find it here... one of the most powerful of the Dark Kingdom's Great Youma. It was wielded before your time, able to cross through the Solar System in an instant and decimate cities ruled by the enemy with ease. Even the Silver Crystal couldn't defeat it completely... so if it can be found, restored and awakened, the Surrounding should quickly cease to be a problem..."

Then, a most unpredictable thing happened -- Laurelite laughed. It was a quiet, high-pitched, empty and eerie sound, made more of malice than it was of amusement.

"This is the final part of your mission, representatives of the Dark Kingdom... if you think you can survive the search. Go deep into the Rift... find the remains of this Great Youma... and bring them together so It can be restored. In order to minimize casualties this will be handled by search parties instead of individuals... so if you are interested, please remain here after the meeting so we can form a group for the first excursion.

If there are any questions or suggestions on how we are to proceed, the floor is open... for productive discussion."

Requiem remained silent and still as Tanzanite approached her. Until that moment, she had never quite gotten a good look at the agent in her General-Queen form, and it wasn't until right then that she could fully recognize what a hauntingly beautiful and terrifying creature of Chaos the woman had become. The woman who had tortured her parents ruthlessly in front of the teenage Senshi; the woman who she had wished nothing but the worst for, and the woman who was at that very moment threatening her life.

She fought the temptation to look at her, keeping her head pointed straight out into the crowd of the other agents as Tanzanite whispered into her ear. Her eyes shook in fear, darting back and forth despite her futile resistances. She tried to remain calm and still, but as the last words of the General-Queen's threat was delivered, her right leg visibly twitched in convulsive, quivering fear.

Once she felt Tanzanite's attention lead elsewhere, she swallowed hard and gasped in relief, only to then take a step back in silence as she looked away with teeth pressed hard against her bottom lip. She should have known better than to taunt the General-Queen; Tanzanite had a habit of putting Requiem back into her place. The Parallel Senshi of Burial stood beside and behind her Dark Princess Ares, the place that she knew she belonged.

Before Esperite even had time to process the information, the remnants of the Blood Moon Court were before him. The dreams of a weapon or source of magic that would lead them to victory and destroy the Surrounding were quickly shattered as he came face to face with the group that left a scar on their organization. Part of him wanted to attack as well as he certainly felt the anger and tension in the room as agents of the Negaverse made their move. Esperite could sympathize with those individuals, but he didn't join them. With Ares and her court before them and Tanzanite paving the way, there was little the crimson eyed lieutenant could do. Holding his position, he moved out of the way for those that wanted a fight and simply waited to see how it played out.

Making sure he didn't get caught up in any of the squabbles or fights, Esperite kept his distance from the more aggressive members of the Negaverse as well as any member of this reformed senshi group that decided to join in. He was certainly happy to put his life on the line for his organization, but that didn't mean he would be dieing anytime soon. Death was a last resort and Esperite certainly felt his life was worth more to the organization. If they wanted to launch an attack, then they were welcome to do so. Though unwilling to admit it and certainly hesitant to believe it, the crimson eyed lieutenant had his limits. Esperite wasn't a match for them and he would have to place his trust in the General Kings and Queens if he wanted to bring down the Surrounding. This wasn't a realization of hope, simply a fact that he would have to accept.

Laurelite's mission wasn't unreasonable and could be accomplished now that they possessed a new line of pawns in the form of the reformed senshi. At this point, Esperite didn't mind a few extra warm bodies to aid their mission if meant gaining such a power as the Dark Kingdom's Great Youma. However, this didn't mean he was ordering fruit baskets and organizing trips to the zoo for their new comrades. For now, whether they trusted one another or not, and Esperite certainly didn't, they would have to play nice with one another. Letting out a sigh of annoyance, Esperite waited for the meeting to end so that they could form the first search party. His only hope now was that the Dark Moon senshi would stay out of his way.

Princess Ares let her eyes slide to Requiem. The sailor had obliquely insulted General-Queen Tanzanite, and she was none too pleased. They were attempting to forge an alliance. Criticizing the woman who had brought them together in front of her faction was ill-advised, rude, and incendiary. Ares could have thrown Requiem across the room.

"Requiem," she said sharply, but it was too late. It was a hard quip, much harder than she would have been had there been no audience. Later, Ares would discuss why her choice of demeanor was so inappropriate. The Princess of Smoke actually had the power to survive a battle with more than one Negaverse officer and not even she was speaking with disrespect.

The folly of youth.

It was for this reason that Ares did not intervene when Tanzanite approached Requiem. Just as Ares had taken action against Hematite, she understood Tanzanite's need to stand her own ground. Still, the Princess kept a very close eye on their exchange, her hand gripping her torch. "I will not see my own harmed either," she said quietly, just for Tanzanite.

Ares had no intention of winning the love of the Negaverse. She just needed them to think with their heads, not their hearts.

When the tide of the conversation turned toward the plans for war, Princess Ares tilted her chin upward. She waited until Laurelite finished before speaking. "My senshi have the ability to take you to space -- to parts of space, not anywhere we would so choose. When the time comes, we will begin ferrying people through mirrorspace out to the stars where the Negaverse has never before been able to freely go." She swept her free arm up so that both hands gripped her staff. "In time, it is my hope that you will come to understand the worth of this alliance. I am not asking for your forgiveness, or your friendship. I am merely asking for you to consider the greater chaotic good."

Gray eyes moved to Laurelite. "General-Queen, when you are ready for us, just call at the mirror." Her head bobbed curtly, a nod of respect, not submission. Princess Ares grabbed Requiem lightly on the wrist and then melted back into the mirror that had brought her to this strange place, leaving no trace but the faint whisper of smoke in the air.

As General Queen Laurelite took the podium, Serandite's attention strayed towards the paled Sailor Requiem. There was a coquettish satisfaction in the shine of Serandite's brown eyes, shining with dark specks of pink. Pink heels shifted slightly, to face their teal-haired superior, a renewed solemness claiming Serandite's foul mood.

Many of the words General Queen Laurelite listed was repetitive to the small General, provided one inserted one disaster for another. Each recent disaster seemed to succeed and exceed the ones before it .. The new Surrounding being no exception. There never seemed to be a sway of balance-- For each time the negaverse seemed to gain a steady footing, the senshi seemed to leap above. Why were they always placed in the position of catching up?

Even this frustrated the bunny General, pink lashes lidded heavily over her brown eyes, her posture rigid. That was no surprise with the presence of the dark moon court still here .. What was once their solace, their symbol of their military core .. Well, it was difficult for Serandite to swallow the fact that they were standing here as well. In front. Would it have been any better if they were standing in back?

Serandite suspected not. Too many would be looking over their backs and result in a heavily distracted meeting. But that didn't mean she liked them up fornt.

.. Something caught Serandite's interest. It was a statement different from the rest. Her chin tipped upwards, Laurelite's laugh ringing within her ears with an echo that never seemed to fade. The first two duties Laurelite had lised was practically default .. but the third?

Another great youma? An enigmatic feeling rose within Serandite .. She couldn't tell if it was perhaps, a misplaced curiosity or confidence. Or even recklessness-- All three qualities, she learned long ago, would only grant a thorny and self-destructive path. But then again, wasn't she already on that path? Her fingers scraped against the negaverse ground, lifting slowly, to grasp the silver necklace that hung from her neck.

The search party had caught her interest.

An attack from space? They could do that now? Fukalite’s expression lightened up considerably at the prospect. While she was not too keen on fighting and invasions, she couldn’t stop herself from becoming intrigued about a space assault. It sounded like something out of a book. Plus, she had never traveled to space before. Did space travel require stuffy suits, like the ones astronauts wore?

Before she could contemplate it further, the General-Queen revealed an ornate mirror. She cocked a brow at it; then she cocked the other when her reflection was replaced with a dark, veiled figure. The lieutenant’s gaze trailed over to Tanzanite’s reflection, now covered with the image of someone else—she had no clue who at first, but the outraged cries soon informed her. She tightly pressed her lips together as she warily eyed Ares, whom she had never met until now. While she felt tempted to follow the general crowd, she couldn’t wrap her mind around the possibility that Tanzanite had let them casually walk in without reason. Fukalite turned her attention toward Serandite and nodded approvingly. She was relieved to see that she wasn’t the only one thinking along similar lines.

Ares’ words were diplomatic, but couldn’t erase the suspicion in Fukalite’s heart. If Tanzanite commanded her to cooperate with Ares and her subordinates, she would, but she couldn’t bring herself to wholeheartedly trust them at this point. Perhaps even never. Her cool threat as she disappeared and repeated with General Hematite corroborated her thoughts.

She mulled over the assignments Laurelite dished out. Fukalite was content with the first two missions, but she hesitated on the last one. She had never been particularly fond of the Rift, but perhaps traveling in groups would ameliorate the trek somewhat.

He had been silent for a majority of the meeting they had been called to. He stood taunt and alert trying to absorb as much information as he could. He made no move and said nothing because he was not addressed. He could not, however, hide his disdain when Ares and her mirror-walkers were allowed entry into the rift. His mouth opened slight, jaw falling slack and he was quick to strike a defensive pose about to summon his weapon when Serandite gave a counter-order to that of General Hematite.

His body seemed to relax and he returned to standing straight, arms slack at his side though his fists were still curled. He never did like senshi, and this new corrupted Ares earned herself no love or respect from the lieutenant. However his respect for the General-Queen was of the highest order and she had brought the former Blood Moon Court queen into the rift so he didn't question her.

His amber eyes watched as the youma queen took her leave and Laurelite took the stand. The third option she spoke of caught his interest the most, he had always been a hands on type of person and one who looked for the more dangerous activities to provide him the adrenaline rushes he so desperately craved. His position wasn't that of the highest but he had confidence in himself and his abilities, especially with his recent dedication to training.

He stepped forward without a thought, despite the fact that the woman had simply told them to remain afterwards. He wanted to be a member of the search teams, no. He would be a member. He was determined it would end that way.

Throughout her General-Queen's disciplinary actions toward two of the lower ranking agents of the Negaverse, her subsequent words...the unveiling of the mirror and Ares's appearance, Captain Moonstone had stood calmly, eyes dark, deep pools absorbing visual input as her ears took in the aural. So much noise from the Lieutenants...some so freshly brought over that they stank of stupidity and annoyed the hell out of her even without opening their mouths (and those that did...gave her a headache). Had she ever been so stupid?

Probably. But she wasn't now and it was now that counted.

Ares and Requiem stood here, in this place that she felt sacred. They made her grit her teeth to check in her gut-reaction. As one of Zinkenite's 'crew' Moonstone could hold back and see that their tenuous truce and alliance did hold many benefits - no matter how much her blood sang to rip the star seeds from both of the Parallel Senshi's bodies. To cripple them first and torture them as they had once tortured her family.

If Tanzanite could bear it, who were they, the subordinates, the dirt kicked from her twisted, youma-tinged heels, to try and even think otherwise? Laurelite charged them with three tasks - and Captain Moonstone would gladly throw herself into any of them with as much will and strength as she possessed, but there was one other that should weigh-in as to where her skills would best be utilized. Her eyes sought out Zinkenite for guidance: Where did he want her?

She did not mind the Rift; truthfully, she felt mostly comfortable within the castle confines, especially in the War Room with one of her peers or Zinkenite. As for outside of the crumbling fortress...well, the Youma Queen had said it once (and once was all any of them really had): there there things wandering the Rift; youma of nightmare composition that would kill her as soon as look at her. It was definitely not a "safe" place to be and only a fool would think or act otherwise. Still, she wasn't as put-off as some of the younger lieutenants seemed to be.

From the shadows she moved forward, voice low and respectful to Zinkenite, "Sir, where shall I stand in this phase?" She could track, she could fight...she could seek out the Great Youma with a group...but for the betterment of all, she wanted to make sure that her place was where it would do the most good.

Senshi in the mirror; Ilmenite tilted his head to the side and considered them, tried to decide if he could recognize any. In their black bodices and black skirts, none rang any bells, but that was to be expected. He didn't remember Senshi by their faces or their hairstyles, by their eye colors, so much as he did by their uniforms, and these girls had something new.

His eyes skated away, instead, to linger on the corrupt senshi in their mist. He considering Lyra for a long moment and then settled in to just watch Zink, only half-listening to the words that came out of mouths around him.

If his General was going to be leading the charge, Ilmenite knew where he stood. Terrifying, maybe, that he didn't even hesitate, didn't even pause to think about that. Not something he wanted to get too introspective over, not right now, not with how he felt. As other officers approached Zinkenite to talk, he went the other way: digging out a cigarette and heading for the exit.

No choice, no thought, maybe he was a good soldier after all.

Her mouth had been hanging open. Barely, merely a small part between the lips, but for Sugilite, this was the equivalent of her jaw hitting the floor. This was the first time she had truly witnessed two beings of such strength clashing with each other. The tension in the room had hummed, and when that woman who stepped out from the mirror, what had her name been? It didn't matter, when she had dragged the captain through the mirror, she had gasped with excitement. This was a world and a half better than tv.

Of course, she knew in some way this related back to her. But not directly, and as a low ranking lieutenant, not in any way she could influence. So Sugilite fell back to the luxury of a spectator, allowing herself and her future to be swept along with the tide.

It was only when the General-Queen had swept out of the room and been replaced by the much more normal and practical figure of another general, that her mind switched from observing from the sidelines to 'this is important for me' mode, and she began weighing what the woman said, considering the implications for herself.

While the task of venturing into the rift would have sounded appealing twenty minutes ago, with it's high risk and possible opportunities of promotion that came with such a dangerous job, she felt that after what had just taken place, it would be best if she didn't seek out attention. While the very faction you belong to is being torn apart from the inside, it's best not to stick your neck out.

With that, she turned and left with the large bulk of the crowd.
