Rias watched and listened to the last entrants. He then looked at Earthmother. He bowed his head to her then turned back to the crowd. He turned to the crowd of fauns. "I have found my brothers!"

First Rais looked at the teen male with spots. "Mo, although you are rather young your pick resonated with me. You are my reborn Second, my Adviser. You will be at my side learning from me." Rais nodded to the male.

Next Rais turned to a female with blue hair. "Vanya, even though you are female you are one of my reborn brothers." Rais was shocked, but it was the truth. "You are the Seer!"

Rais then turned to a male with a necklace on, "Gulliver, since you have quick thought and sight you show that you are a reborn brother. You are the Captain of the Rangers!"

The Chieftain looked to a faun with long horns, "Alistair, your thought on a vine were very interesting! Your are Grand Geomancer!"

Now to the faun that brought him an apple. "Caliegh, you brought me an apple from an admirer...you are the Matron!"

Next to a faun that picked a piece of wood, "Takis, you tried to heal a piece of wood, just what we need in a Tree Shaper!"

On to the faun that loves music, "Pan, you are perfect for our Gardener! You will know just what is needed for our little ones."

"A few more were found in the crowd!" Rais turned to an orange female faun, "I see a spark of courage and fire in the face of adversity in your choice, Amadorine. I have an important position that is perfect for a faun with your spunk. You are perfect to find the way on the isle. Your are our Pathfinder!"

One last faun was turned to, this one with a bikini on, "You have a great fashion sense, you will be the Clothier! The faun to help us dress."

Now, one more announcement, two faun had showed up that hadn't been around in a while, "A f couple have faun have found us, Mojo and Bronson! Mojo is our Brewmeister and Bronson our Chef. They will be opening a tavern to fill our bellies."

Rais again turned to the whole crowd, "Thanks for all you have come back home!"

Gulliver wasn't entirely paying full attention as Rais spoke, his thoughts back on what he had heard each Faun tell about the items as Rais announced each name... Then he heard his name and blinked, he'd been announced? Really? Captain of the Rangers, wow this was something he'd not expected. He stood a little taller and nods towards Rais and Earthmother, he'd do his best in his position.

Blink.

Blink.

Most of what Chief Rais had said had flowed over Vanya like a rushing stream, swift, unheeding, and unconcerned with her mere presence. Except when she'd heard her name.

She was the what? oh, no no no no no...there had to be some mistake. She wasn't a brother, that much she was sure of. Least, last time she'd checked, and she was pretty sure she would have noticed if that'd changed. No, this was all a big misunderstanding, she was sure. Even Chief Rais had to make a mistake once in a while, right?

"I...I...no, this isn't right," she shook her head in disbelief, unable to even form a coherent sentence. "Can't be...not me..." She turned to Takis, belatedly realizing that she'd heard his name in the speech as well. "Takis, I...I can't..."

Then she heard her name again, this time in the warm, soothing voice of the Earthmother. Wait, what now? She was to step forward for...? Her brain started to catch up with what her ears had been picking up unconsciously and her eyes widened. First, they claimed she was to be their Seer, and now they were looking to make her Chieftess? Oh, no no no no. No offense to the Chief of course, but she wasn't looking to be anyone's wife any time soon. She barely knew Rais! Besides, she had enough to deal with right now.

Yet, the call drew her forwards. She gave in, stepping up, but not to participate...no, she had to explain, they'd made some sort of mistake. Right?

Afterall...who'd want her for anything?

Takis, upon hearing the announcement of Rais' council, finds his heart swelling with joy. He was chosen to be the Tree-Shaper! He had a purpose, a direction! He was useful!

He turns to Vanya to congratulate her on her own new position, but the look of mixed alarm and terror on her face causes his giant grin to fall. "Vanya, it'll turn out alright. Rais must've seen something he--oh, um, hello..." he says, his comforting speech somewhat interrupted by the arrival of the other male. He waits politely for the other to finish, and had he really winked at her? Takis tries not to make a face. "Anyway," he begins to say to Vanya, but then the Matron speaks up, and before his very eyes Vanya steps up to the dais with the other women. To be counted as a possible wife for the chieftain.

All he can do is just stand there with a sort of dumbfounded look on his face. Be reasonable, he tries to tell himself, Even if she is chosen as Rais' wife, you can still be friends. This changes nothing. But in his heart he knows this isn't so. He clenches his fists to avoid shedding a tear. How unseemly that would be! As unreasonable as it was, Takis felt that Vanya was his, somehow.

He loves her, he realizes.

His only comfort in this moment is that Vanya looked as unhappy up on that dais as he did to see her there. Not that that would change anything if she were chosen.

"Besides," he says to her, though he knows she can't hear him, "I'll be here for you." He sighs.

Kishi stopped to listen to the chief's announcement for his Circle and the council positions. She was grinning ear to ear when she heard that her dear friend Pan was called to be the Gardener. "Pan! You get to look after all the lil acorns, how lucky for you!"

She was not given much notice after that when the Earthmother began to speak. Her gentle, yet powerful tone resonated within the pink faun, giving her a feeling of peace, to know that what Earthmother said was true. She smiled, excited that the chief would finally find his mate.

But the smile faded when her own name was called. "What?"

Sure Chief Rais was attractive, virile, and quite the catch. But he was also scary to Kishi. He intimidated with his presence and power. She knew he would never harm her, or any other faun, but she liked be just a little faun girl keeping out of the spotlight and not stirring up trouble. Nervously, she approached the dais, scanning the faces of the other females up there. Most of them looked as scared, nervous or upset as she felt. At least she was in good company.

Yes Caleigh went up after Belvah, raising her eyebrow. This is going to be so interesting. She did not want to become a wife to the Chieftain, she was merely contented to teach his brats how to have a good right hook in throwing apples at someone and see if others are good couples to get married. That was it.

The female took the rune after Belvah and squeezed it, keeping her eyes closed. When she opened it, it was green as it had approved her to be eligible for this. "Oh good nature," she muttered, her way of cursing and just hand it off. "Belvah! It says yes," the spotted hyena sighed, giving a shake of her head.
