One more foot up, one more foot it would fall if it wasn't careful. Gingerly it tapped about the wall in the dim lighting and struck gold, metaphorically. "Vureh furrtil," it amended as three more pieces fell into its bucket.

Experimentally, Vero picked at the spots above this hotspot and received nothing but dust and several small pebbles that rained down upon it. Finding speech impeded, it pointed to the area where it had just mined and motion Ulmuka with its wings. Perhaps if they dug together, more would be uncovered?

[ ROCK CANDY GET: 1 ]Ulmuka had spaced out slightly, one of his rare moments of focus had him dedicated to the digging. He blinked out of it and realized that Vero had found a fellow digger as well as more candy. He was feeling lacking in his amount of candy! Somehow it was as if no time had passed and even if Vero didn't remember. Ulmuka seemed to leap back into the conversation about siblings and wanted to learn more about Vero and his Queen. "Have you met your queen? She sounds amazing." She instilled FEAR and maintained order? Amazing! (( Daily Attempt 1: 1 Total : 10 ))

Gingerly as possible, Vero moved the bucket's handle from mouth to hand, and then carefully slide it down until it hung contentedly on its arm. "We have not met her," it replied, turning its head down to its companion. "But we have heard her, and heard of her. The lower caste does not have the privilege of seeing royalty normally, only feeling their laws and consequences thereof."
Several more tinks, several more candies falling to the bucket.

"So mysterious!" Ulmuka, of course, was still imagining a beautiful bug queen in layers of silks with a scepter on a throne of prone bodies. It was probably not accurate in any way but it sounded amazing and mysterious to him.
He seemed pretty pleased with the steady way they were digging out rock candy. "We are doing okay with the mining. I'm sure your hive is much more efficient though.." He giggled, imagining dozens of bugs systematically removing the candy in piles.
Of course as soon as he spoke he seemed to hit a dead spot. Nothing came tumbling into his bucket.

"Very," Vero agreed. "On both accounts. This area up here has given us a handful." It indicated its current spot on the wall, about six feet up from where Ulmuka stood. As an example, several thuds of the pickaxe produced three more rock candies to mine.
"It has to be as such. Inspectors come to evaluate the efficiency of work aggregates twice a week and are known to be brutal on the detail. We once heard of a drone being carted off for not wiping away a forgotten smudge on the queen's mirror."

Taking a small break from picking at the walls, Israfel leaned back, wishing he could eat some of the candy himself. But he wasn't sure if he was allowed to. That and he might end up eating all he found. Instead, he fished around his pockets. Finding nothing he kicked the wall. The wall crumbled a bit, and a nice chunk of rock candy was reviled.
Israfel also realized he had some fish still in his pocket. Tasty, tasty fish.

"You have much more than me. Great job!" Muka patted Vero on the shoulder in a congratulatory manner. He then turned his eyes to the crater he'd made and jammed his pickaxe deeply into the crater. "WE will get those badges!!" He busted out in another giggle.
"What sort of work do you do there?" Did they simply operate to run themselves? He imagined a hive would be self sufficient. As he smashed at the crater he was lucky enough to hit a small 'vein' and a couple pieces tumbled down to the ground.
Muka giggled, being careful of his wings when he bent to pick them up.

Oh dear Jack what was that smell? It smelled horrible and rotting and putrid ... it was like a giant pile of filth was just placed in the middle of the floresctival and then left to rot for about 2039482034 days. Then they threw rotten eggs at it for fun. That was how bad it smelled.
And this was coming from an undead.
Sebastian pinched his nose and was about to enter the junk pile in search of a badge ... or some febreeze, when he noticed a machine sitting off to the side.
Well this was quaint. It had some numbers and letters on it, but Sebastian couldn't really understand it. He tried tapping it a few times (maybe it was a sleeping robot?), but nothing happened. Well everything else in this festival seemed to function off those seeds, so maybe you were supposed to insert one? There was a coin slot after all.
Sebastian tossed one seed into the little slot and it gave a little whirring noise. That was a good thing, right?

Nibbling on his fish Israfel figured break time was now fish time, which if his snack was anything to go by, would be over shortly. Taking his pick he tried the area he'd found the chunk at before. This one was a nice medium sized bit and the siren made a happy chirp and his ear wings flicked in excitement.

"Ah . . . we thank you?"
Vero didn't mean for it to come out like a question, but compliments just weren't regular to it. Especially since technically all visitors would be against each other: there was a rumor that the one who collected at least eight badges might have a chance at being enrolled. Hopefully there would be no initiation with glitter and fur-things.
"Hummm. We had rotating jobs on the side of our beginner's education with the other hatchlings," Vero said after trying several more spots on the wall. "Mostly as a page between workers. We did not last long at that, however; our wings cannot produce flight currently."
It paused, antennae twitching backwards, before toiling again at the wall.

Muka rose from the crate he was sitting on and took a step back to stretch. He was tall and lanky but his wings were rather large so he had to be careful with the tawny appendages as he stretched them out, one by one. He shook his head simultaneous to his wings as they settled back against him.
He heard some steps coming towards them and turned his head to the side completely, his body remaining still and facing forward. While he watched the tunnel he started to pick blindly at the wall. "I think someone is coming, Vero." There was a tinge of the usual excitement to his tone.

Was there? It turned its head this way and that, the hairs on its arms and legs tingling. Perhaps indeed someone was nearby; Vero had been so focused on its own mining after all, it had neglected its other senses. "If so, let them," the spirit said with a shrug. "Perhaps they know the locations of other 'sweet spots'."
It was thankful that they went by lantern light for one reason: Vero probably looked terrible between the fish thrown at it, the glitter from the mansion, the bruises from Rage's gym, and the accumulated trash upon its person otherwise garnered from their exploits in the tunnel.

Minnie came back to the gym. "Well. Hopefully i got one or more today."
And so she took a chance on mining. After mining for a few minutes, she gave up on that spot, and move on to another one.
