Jericho murmured as he tried to look around.
<..Do you think the ore is really here?> he added while furrowing his brow. For now he still did not dare to speak out loud lest his voice attracted the attention of those ants.
Clenching his fists a bit, he tried to peer ahead to see if there was anything else to pick up on.

Riley took the lead this time, heading down the long narrow set of steps against the wall. It was leading directly into worker ants, but somehow she didn't seem worried. She understood the drone mentality - to them, they probably didn't even exist unless they got in the way of their work.
I know it's in here. Somewhere. We're just going to have to get past some ants to find it- hm. Well, there is the answer to my previous question..
Several much bulkier, angry looking ants were coming their way, carrying crude, but pointed weapons. They were most definitely not 'workers'. They were even armed - these were definitely warriors.
This isn't going to be as easy as before. She warned quietly, getting off the stairs to stand near a drone digger, who might offer some unintentional cover.

Nodding silently to Riley, Jericho glanced to the side as he noticed something larger heading their way. He couldn't see too much of them, but he could tell that they were carrying something that could potentially harm them. Frowning, he shifted back with the Mindflayer, keeping a hand on her to make sure that he didn't end up losing her in the darkness. He did not want to get into a fight while mostly blind.
While by the drone, he crouched down as well, narrowing his eyes at the figures further away.
How intelligent were these ants, he had to wonder. It was too bad they didn't have anything that could mask their scent... ants worked by smell right?
Maybe.

Jericho and Riley were no match for the six warrior ants that came at them. They might have fought a valiant fight, but it didn't really matter. In the end, the two students were on their knees, incapacitated, tied up, and thoroughly captured. These ants were far larger than they had looked from far away, and they managed to pick the two up and carry them off as their prisoners.

Jericho tried to fight off the ants as well as he could but quite frankly the odds were just against them.
They might have been tied up right now, but he wasn't quite done here just yet. Gritting his teeth, he took in a breath an attempted to concentrate on channeling his FEAR into his arms. It wasn't going to be easy in the slightest, but he had to try and see if he could burn through the rope with his new little trick he learned from home.

Jericho let out a low growl as he failed pretty damn utterly with that. He just couldn't focus his FEAR right now. The dragon didn't have enough practice with that ability so... he just failed to even get the glow starting between the scales.
"Keh. You just wait you stupid ants," snarled the dragon, obviously not pleased with how things were going right now.

Riley's tentacle reached up, and managed to slap her forehead as she watched the smoke drift up from Jericho's bonds. While she appreciated the effort, she knew that fights were best won at the right time - and being carried by a giant ant, while tied up, was not the time to pick a fight.
Especially when they had just lost to the ants.
Where are you taking us? She demanded, her mind jabbing forcefully into the ants that held them. Both stopped cold, and looked at each other for a moment, clacking in dismay, before they continued onward. Neither seemed like they were going to answer, and she slumped against her captive, stewing in anger.
Privately, she murmured to Jericho. Just wait until they put us down. We'll probably go into a cell, or something, and have to find a way out.
But they were headed to no cell. In fact, after the long, tedious walk down what seemed like every stair in existence, they had finally reached the heart of the 'mountain' - and what seemed like tiny flecks of brilliantly colored specks dotted the walls around them here. Riley perked, her eyes glaring at the walls with a calculating gaze.
But that gaze slowly dropped, and her head turned from the walls, slowly glaring in open shock at the doorway they were standing in front of.

Letting out a low growl from deep within his throat, Jericho was about to snap at the ants as they seemingly ignored him. However, Riley's words cut into his mind, calming him for the time being. Huffing out a little bit of smoke, he nodded quietly and sulked the rest of the way while they were being carried.
The dragon looked around as they were lugged about, curiously staring at the little dots that were in the walls all around.
When they stopped in front of the doors, he stared at it, wondering what was behind them. Were they taking them to their queen? Why the hell would they do that if this was the case?

Jericho.
Riley's voice was nothing but a whisper, and it was hard to tell exactly what emotion trembled it.
I'm really sorry.
The doors whined as they opened, crumbling around the edges as stone scratched against stone. Inside, it just looked like more of the same, just glittering walls and a dark, lightless underground cave room. Riley could see what waited within, but she didn't have to. She already knew.
The giant warrior ants dropped them to the floor instead of carrying them inside, and a slice of their pincers had the ropes dropping from their hands. Then, they left.
They didn't seem worried about the prisoners escaping, anymore.

Furrowing his brow, Jericho stared over in Riley's direction but he couldn't see what was going on. Apparently she knew what was going on here.
When he was dropped rather unceremoniously, he let out a grunt before getting up. The rope had been cut. Wait. What?
He had a rather bad feeling about all of this, but he didn't know what to make of it all.

Her hand reached out in the darkness, pulling him to his feet and against her as quickly as possible. Stop speaking into my mind. Stop speaking at all.
Her hand was pulling him inside, perhaps a little hurriedly, but stopped, and rested gently on his shoulder.
Then she shoved him down as hard as she could, forcing him to kneel beside her.
Udos xun naut doer ulu phlyle. Her voice had changed, sounding strong and determined, but somehow.. submissive. And it was still unclear exactly who she was talking to, even to herself.
Two bright, thin slits broken the darkness in front of Jericho, if he was stupid enough to look up. If he was, Riley's hand would shove his head right back down a moment later.

Jericho had a confused look as she pulled him close. He tried to look around, but didn't see anything through the darkness. And then, all of the sudden, he was forced down to his knees. He was about to ask why, but then she started to speak in drow.
... A language he didn't know. If she had switched to draconic, he could have understood, but this was not the case. He didn't know what she said, but there was something off about her tone.
The dragon, remained still, wary and unknowing of what was going on around him. His wings twitched out of anticipation and he was straining to try and hear whatever was in there with them.. if there was anything at all.
If only his flames could actually work on these damn ants. Then maybe they wouldn't have gotten into this mess.
