Candace was very glad she was not a mindreader. She had no idea she was completely botching this whole kelpie deal with her lack of knowledge. The physical appearances weren't her fault but everything else was. No clan name, no backstory, a lame name, just...everything was wrong. But she didn't know! Calder wasn't saying anything about it! All he said was her name was 'exotic'. That's all. But he sounded pleased so...she wasn't going to worry about it.
The crane game was the most normal sounding of all the things being suggested until the dunking booth and karaoke were also mentioned. Huh. She'd have to go try those later, but for now she would allow Calder to take her to the place he felt most appropriate. She was a bit thrown off by how he was holding her elbow, raising a brow and pulling away. No, no. She may have been in a male body but Candace was still the girl here. She had better ideas.
Better ideas included making a happy noise and hugging Calder's arm, leaning down to put her head on his shoulder with a happy flick of her tail. God, this was disgusting. She was touching one of them. Ugh. Bath. Please. She needed a BATH! Uuuuuugh! "Oh, thank you, Calder! This is going to be so much fun!" It was then that she spotted the booth they were headed to, releasing Calder to prance ahead and get a better look. Whoa! So these were floresce eggs? She only had one seed...she'd have to make this good!

It wasn't every day that Calder got to be allowed the lead role of the relationship, and he didn't mind the switch up. In fact, his chest puffed out when the other boil held to his arm, hugging it and resting his head on his shoulder. This...this was magical. A boil on his arm while they spent their time at a festival together. Like a real, proper date. The lights seemed brighter, the air clearer, and maybe he felt a bit warmer because, Jack, he wanted to fan himself a bit.
He turned his head only just so to breath in the boil's scent, again smelling something peculiar. He was a strange sort, and the fact he didn't even smell as familiar as he thought nagged at him. Still, the fact he was on his arm, Cade's voice giddy with excitement, made him too drunk to question it. Why question this? THIS was everything he always wanted and he wasn't about to nitpick every little thing.
As a proper stallion showing his lovely about, he would win Cade a floresce for his collection. He just HAD to. "Okay, so the name of this game is that we go over and try and grab a egg. Don't get caught though or else you got to pay up. It requires speed and stealth and a whole lotta luck. I'll go first and you see how it's done."
Calder, reluctantly, put Cade to his side and released their hold. He so wanted to keep Cade on his arm, but he'd be back in two shakes of a foxfire's tail.
Looking at the target, the tank, Calder got ready to run and sprinted ahead. He could only hope that he could impress Cade on the first go.
It didn't seem to work. He was spotted and had to toss a seed for even attempting before trotting back. "No luck. Might try again when they turn around. They always get distracted."

Did..did he just? He sniffed you. That's normal. Deal with it. He really sniffed her?! What the hell! Candace tried not to make a face at the thought of someone sniffing her like...like... Like some kind of animal? Yes! Exactly! Oh, right. Kelpie. Those were horse things.
"This game doesn't sound so hard." Candace felt confident she was amazing enough to get away with anything. She had this would be easy as pie! Ha! Surely she could outwit a pair of stupid monsters. She watched with hidden smugness as Calder released her and began posturing to impress her. Oh, if only he knew.
Awwww he failed.
"It's okay, Calder. You'll get them next time. I think I'll try now." She reached over to brush some hair over his shoulder and give him a kind smile, squeezing his shoulder almost affectionately before turning to face the tank and the pair of locals. Okay. Run in, grab egg, run out. Easy enough. Though it was a shame she wasn't used to this body; she wasn't used to the clip clopping of her hooves, or the way it practically sprung her forward like a real horse would on four legs. Holy s**t! She could run fast like this!
Unfortunately she was too loud and got the attention of both of the booth's runners. s**t s**t s**t! Her only seed fell out of her pocket as she turned on her hoof and ran away, feeling disgusted with herself for this. s**t! 'Cade' frowned. "Okay. Harder than it looks."

"It's great practice though. Seems simple but they got great ears on 'em. Have to time it just right. Even as fast as I am, I still miss. Been trying at this one booth for a bit. Let me try again. The odds will smile on us at some point." He just hoped soon. If his booth was any indicator, he wasn't a rich kelpie. Most of his kind weren't, but he would spend every seed to his name and then some to help Cade out.
Ears back, he leaned forward, rear up and tail swishing as he aimed for the tank once more. Waiting till the TOTers were looking away, he bolted once more, rushing over and hoping to make it in time.
To his surprise, he managed it. It was good he was made for sprinting. Hand in, he grabbed a GHOST FLORESCE and turned around, bolting back to Cade and skidding to a stop like a star baseball player.
Not even panting, he grinned wide and opened his hand to show the egg. "Better get a jar to keep these in if we keep winning them, but yeah. That is how it's done. One ..." Calder checked his palm. "...ghost floresce, just like that."

"Unfortunately that was the only seed I had." Candace frowned and actually felt unhappy about that. Now she had to find a way to get more seeds. But how? Calder was trying again though and that impressed her. He was trying again...for Cade? That was either incredibly sweet or incredibly pathetic. It was obvious the kelpie was head over hoof for Cade. Sigh. This was going to be as much of a hassle as it was going to be a blessing. Hopefully Calder would prove useful.
And indeed he did not disappoint! Her eyes widened and her ears perked up high as he actually managed to steal an egg and returned to her, her jaw slightly dropped. She was impressed, truly. She thought him incapable of being useful. Candace was glad he proved her wrong. He could stay by her side. She had to keep him.
'Cade' clapped 'his' hands together and held them near his face, eyes wide and a huge grin on his face as his tail flicked with pure joy and adoration~! "Oh, wow! Calder! You're amazing! Alright! I'll do just that as soon as I find a jar!" Candace was completely disgusted with herself for this act, she was going to need a priest to cleanse her dirtied soul after this. She threw her arms around Calder in a hug, even rubbing her cheek against his before releasing him with her hands gently gripping his upper arms. "With your help I'll surely be able to start the best floresce collection ever!" Oh, yes. All because of Calder. Heh.

Calder beamed, proud of himself and his clear kelpie feats of swiftness and skill. Cade was happy and impressed by his prize, and he was higher than a witches' broomstick at the moment. He did it. He had gotten Cade a floresce just like he wanted, and he'd get him many, many more to see him just as excited. As a reward for his actions, he was embraced and, with eyes flashing wide and ears perked, Cade nuzzled him.
Cade nuzzled his cheek, and Calder's eyes rolled and he felt his knees buckle as he tried to keep upright. THIS was what he was missing out on. A boil to nuzzle him just like this and to admire him for doing what kelpie's did best. It was nice having one of his kind because no one else really got him. No one else nuzzled him aside from his parents, and Calder was melting, face flushed and heart hammering as the other boil pulled away.
Dreamy-eyed and drunk on the affection, he slowly nodded. "No problem. Here." He handed the floresce off to him, and smiled. "Anything you want, Cade. I'll help you get that best collection around. Just let me stick by you, and I'll help you accomplish anything." He was his love slave and he would do anything in his power to make Cade happy. For just one more embrace. For just one more happy bit of praise. For one more of that lovely nuzzling. He'd do anything.
Turning about, he breathed deep. "Let me try once more for that other one. Best to have one of a kind for each." He readied himself again, feeling invincible now. He'd try and try again just to get that other floresce.
Floating on cloud 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13, Calder raced once more and reached into the tank, grabbing a Firelands Floresce and turning back, sprinting back to Cade's side.
His tail was swaying back and form, and he was still holding that dreamy smile. "Here you go, Cade. Another floresce, just for you." He offered it freely, not even considering keep it for himself. It would be much happier living with Cade. Anyone would be. He would.

Wow, all this just from a slight nuzzle on the cheek? Really? That was quite the reaction! This guy must not've been popular with the ladi--..boils...? Though she did appear mildly concerned by the flushed look on his face as she pulled out of the hug. She couldn't have her minipet provider passing out on her! "Calder? You alright? Do you need to si--" The floresce egg was handed off and she blinked, looking down at it and then at the kelpie again as he went on about doing absolutely anything for him. Wow. When this kid fell he fell hard, huh? You'd think he was...in...love with her...
...s**t. This could be bad.
'Cade's' face blanched for a moment as Calder turned away, looking mildly panicked. s**t, s**t. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe she should leave while he was busy running off. ********. This was bad. She was getting too involved. Craaaaap. She watched with a small frown as Calder leaped into action like a majestic stallion, seemingly floating through the air as he grabbed an egg like nothing was going to stand in his way and returned. The frown was totally from worry. Totally. Yup. Worry for Calder, not her trying to think of how to get out of this.
But then he offered her the second floresce without any hesitation whatsoever. She looked honestly taken aback. He was willing to just hand over something he had worked for to a complete stranger? It..it almost didn't seem right. Freakish Kelpie Monster Thing or not, he had worked for it and she had no right to just take it from him. Flashbacks of how she had done whatever it took to get stupid shiny trinkets that didn't even do as promised played through her head. Ugh. No. This wouldn't be like that. "Calder, I can't--" She paused, getting a good look at his face. He was so...happy to do this for..'Cade'. Candace couldn't do it. She couldn't turn him down. The corner of her mouth quirked up in a small smile. "I can't thank you enough for this. Let's find another game...you said there was a crane game, right? Is that free?" Free games. She needed lots of free games. 'Cade' linked arms with Calder again and led him away from the egg stealing booth before the two people running it caught on. She kept a careful hold on the two precious floresce eggs. She needed a jar to keep them alive long enough to give to Aria!
"...Didn't you keep those leeches of yours in a jar? Do they still need that or could I borrow it? I don't want to impose.." But it would do her a lot of good! She had no idea where to get a jar around here. Maybe the next game booth would have one.

Apparently Jeremy was going to try overachieving today. That was kind of something new, but it should still be a learning experience. How easy was it to infiltrate anything in Halloween? So far it'd been a piece of cake.
Well, except this time, as he was spotted and chased off before he could even attempt, but he did lose his free whatever-it-was-called seed to one of the creatures running the booth.

'Ari' decided to drop by again; it was amazing how, despite her newly found claws, she did not puncture the egg she had stolen earlier. Looking around, she quickly dipped her hand into the tank, reaching for a ghostly egg... Only to be caught.
Ugh.
In her rush to escape, she dropped a seed.

When the coast was once again clear, the hunter-in-disguise decided to try again. Quickly, she slipped her hand into a tank, grabbing one of the Ghost eggs and stuffing it into her pocket with the other egg from earlier. Then, she walked away, feeling rather pleased with herself.

Calder was back with renewed determination. While Cade was in the boil's room getting freshened up and taking a breather, Calder slipped away to try his hand at this booth again. Cade wanted floresce and this booth had them. Sure, he already had them, but the part of collecting was having LOTS of the type you wanted, and Calder was prepared to give Cade (Lovely, marvelous, sexy, hot, Cade!) as many as he could get in such a limited amount of time.
While the boil was occupied, Calder went to his broken booth and had grabbed a jar and filled it with water. Setting it on the ground, Calder leaned down like a pro sprinter, butt up and eyes narrow, and darted forward.
With LOVE as his inspiration and drive, he managed to grab another seed, and raced back. He didn't check what type it was until he dropped it into the jar and looked at it to see it was a Ghost floresce. Ohhh, Cade would be so happy. He hoped he got another nuzzle from him. His cheek was so soft and warm. It made him feel like little bats were fluttering in his stomach.

Alright. Eye of the Stallion. One little egg wasn't going to make a collection or win his beloved's heart. If he was going to get the honor of being close to Cade, he had to show him how dedicated and driven he was. Whatever the boil wanted or desired, he'd do it. This was a test. A test of romance!
Turning about, he aimed for the tank again and tried once more. He tried of thinking of something inspiring. Cade, always Cade, but maybe Cade in a very short kilt and an open shirt. Oh yeah. That was nice to think about.
Flushed and heated, Calder sprinting again, using all the powered of his kind to bolt to the tank again and grab another egg. This time when he dropped his prize into the jar, it was a Firelands Floresce. Good! He had them both now!

Another go? Calder checked the time and smiled. He had managed to run two times in no time. He could risk a try or more if he felt the need. Maybe just ...one more go? He was still fired up and giddy, and he wasn't in the hole any more or less than he was a minute ago. He could try again, and return to Cade before he noticed.
Smiling at his jar, he turned again and took a deep breath. "Cade." He said, giggling soon after and wiggling his rump at the name.
Giddy, he tired once more.
This was FATE! This was DESTINY! The world was smiling on the couples in love, and he was winning, trotting back with another floresce in his hand. It had been seconds. Run over. Grab. Rush back. This was the power of love. Cade's goal was his goal and this was why he was accomplishing so much.
"You'll have the best collection ever, Cade." He said, dropping a Ghost Floresce egg into the jar with the others.

Calder grinned, watching the eggs float in the water. Maybe it wasn't surprising that a kelpie, a creature who both could sprint and lived in teh water, was good at catching floresce. He also found it rather sweet that Cade liked them enough to collect them. His mother also loved floresce despite the various dishes that involved them. They did taste good, but Calder was luckily not hungry. His stomach was fluttering and turning too much for that.
Turning, he decided to try once more. If he was on a roll, he would continue till that tank had NO floresce left!!!
Or maybe not. It seemed the TOTers had noticed that their tank was lacking floresce at a very alarming rate, and had turned just as Calder was reaching in. Enraged, the raced up and threw him back and then had a fun time kicking him around. It was a good thing he didn't have that jar with him or they might have broken or taken it!
When they were done and muscles strained, they left and Calder limped back, picking up his jar as he wiped his nose of a bit of fear. "Okay. Um...yeah. Let's go give you guys to Cade." Seemed the lucky streak was over.

Candace needed a minute to herself. She was feeling..bad about all this. Calder was a Kelpie Thing, he didn't deserve her sympathies...but he was so nice. He was going out of his way to practically kill himself to get these stupid minipets for her. No one had ever done that for her before. Candace was used to doing things all on her own. She had been about to accept Calder's offer to check out another booth, realizing she needed to do a couple things to keep her loyal little minipet provider happy and willing to help her, when she suddenly felt a twinge of panic. She couldn't do this. She couldn't do this. She needed..she needed something. She needed alone time, yes. Are you backing out? Aria and Caelius will be most disappointed. You may not ever wake up from this if you do... She had a point. A very, very good point. Candace was just so...ugh! This was stupid! She wanted out of this body and out of this place! She wanted to see humans again. People. Normal. Goddamn. People. She wanted to say God and boy and girl and pay for things with cash and..UGH!
It took a conscious effort to not kick down the door to the bathroom as she left it to head back to the floresctival, her arms crossed across her flat man chest as she approached the booth they had been stealing fish from. She blinked, just hiding behind a nearby booth out of sight and watching as Calder caught egg..after egg...after egg and put them in a jar. She was impressed and amazed. He was doing all this for a strange he met an hour ago.
But damn, her collection for Aria was going to be amazing.
Suddenly it seemed Calder's lucky streak ran out and the two running the booth beat him up, wincing a bit. It was a very good thing Calder hadn't seen him watching. He stepped away from the booth and headed over to where Calder was standing with the jar of floresce eggs. "Hey, sorry about that I--WHOA!" 'Cade's' eyes were instantly trained on the jar of floresce eggs. "Y-you got all those for me?! Wha...how did...you're too kind to me, Calder. Really. Wow." She held her hands out for the jar and looked up to Calder's face, suddenly gasping with horror and moving her hands to instead cup his face. "Calder! Oh my Jack, are you okay?! What happened?!" Damn, she deserved a medal for her acting skills right now. Pretending to care was awesome!
