((Aw, this part of the story is actually making me cry. sad crying ))
Victoria saw Dante get up and walk to the narrow road, and so she wiped her tears on her dress before standing up. "Good-bye, Great Grandma Evelyn." She whispered before kissing her hand and putting it on the headstone. She turned around and walked carefully back to where Dante was standing, once almost tripping because there were hidden rocks in the grass. Once she got back to Dante she glanced up at him and asked worriedly, "Are you sure that is all the time you need? We can stay longer if you want.." She trailed off, not wanting to hurt him more. She stood quietly, staring down at her shoes.

He went to lift her chin from looking at the ground but he stopped. "Listen. I know you're feeling pain, I can tell, but you gotta quit looking down at the ground all the time." He paused and then continued, "And yes, I'm fine. He's here everyday and I can always come back if it's needed." He went and leaned against the tree next to him and Victoria and waited for her.

Victoria blushed at his comment. I can't help it, she thought angrily at him, but then the anger disappeared. "Alright." She whispered, and looked him directly in the eye for a moment, and then back at the cemetery. She was going to come back every day to visit her great-grandmother. She smiled at the thought and then started dancing down the sidewalk. "Where to next?" She sang happily.

Dante thought about things to do, but then came up with an idea. "You pick. What have you always wanted to do, but you needed more than one person?" He thought about what he told Victoria about looking down all the time, "Hey......if that comment upset you, I didn't mean for it to do that. I just...I just can't see people being upset all the time. I know how it feels to be mad, sad, confused, and everything in between, so I hate to see someone else feel the same way. So again I'm sorry." He walked with Victoria as she danced down the street.

Victoria stopped dancing and then thought where she wanted to go. Her eyes lit up when she knew what. "The zoo!" She said happily. She walked beside him, taking his hand and holding it for a second before dropping it. "It's alright." She was back to her sad self again. Why was she always that way. Be happy, stay happy, she told herself. Putting all sad thoughts out of her mind, she asked Dante quickly, "What's your favorite animal? Mine are cats. They're so cute and cuddly! But back to you." She babbled, trying to be happy for him.

Dante was a little surprised when Victoria held his hand even though it was only for a quick period of time. He looked at her and saw something intangible in her eyes. Part of him actually liked what just happened but he wasn't going to say anything. He thought about his favorite animal but it was hard. "I would have to pick dogs. At the zoo I love watching the eagles though."
He looked at his watch to see when the next bus was coming. "We're going to have to take the bus so we can catch the two-thirty stop. We just have to wait about ten minutes on that bench." he pointed at the wooden bench next to the the bus stop sign.

Victoria nodded at his answer. "Hm. Dogs are cute too. And they like to play. Man's best friend," She remarked joyfully. She saw the bench he pointed at and sat on it, looking up at the small, dark roof over their heads. She looked out into the street and frowned when she saw an old lady trying to cross the street with her walker in hands, but saw all of the cars and stepped back. Victoria jumped up without a word and pressed the button for walk, and when the cars stopped, skipped across the street and put one hand on the old woman's back, letting her know that Victoria wouldn't hurt her. "Do you need help, Ma'am?" She asked loudly, trying to be heard over the cars engines. She saw the woman nod and she pressed lightly on her back while tugging her along. "It's alright, we're almost there." She said once every few seconds to encourage the woman. After a few minutes, they finally crossed the street and the cars resumed zooming past the intersection. The old woman looked up at Victoria and gave a weak smile. She slowly, slowly pulled out a flower-patterned wallet and took out a five dollar bill, slid it into Victoria's hands, and bent her fingers over it. Victoria quickly shook her head, looked back at Dante, and met eyes with the woman. "No, I can't take your money, really." She said politely. The woman, still with a smile on her face, shook her head and patted Victoria's hand before turning and walking off in the opposite direction. Victoria sighed and watched her go, feeling a warm spot for the old woman. She turned around and walked slowly back to Dante, sitting down beside him with a huge grin and set her head back on the back of the bench. The five dollar bill still sat crisp in her hand, and she bent over to put it in her shoe.

It's not often that you see someone do that around here... Dante thought as he watched Victoria helped the older woman. "That was very nice of you to do that." Dante said as he gave a gentle nudge with his elbow. He could hear the sound of a diesel engine getting closer. He looked and it was the bus. "The bus is coming." he said standing up. "Are you ready to see the wonders of the world?" Dante asked, referring to the animals at the zoo.

"And....I'm outro. I love ya Trishie but I gotta go." she laughed and quickly hugged Trisha. "Alright. Remember, I won't be here tomorrow soo, you don't have to come in for we shall be closed." Trisha yelled as Aria headed out the door.
Aria nodded and waved, walking out of the shop.

Victoria smiled at his comment. "Thank you. I try to help those in need." When she heard the bus coming she hopped up and waited on the curb. "Boy am I ever ready!" She looked back at Dante and yelled for him to come quickly, because the bus was turning the corner, heading for them.

He came to the curb and stood by Victoria. The bus pulled up and opened the doors. The driver looked familiar and Dante soon realized it was his old teacher. "Look who it is. Good ol Mr. Jones." Dante said as he put the money in the machine. "How long have you been a public transpo. driver?" "A year now. Damn school let me go for god knows what reason." he said shaking Dante's hand. "That school was a dump, so maybe it's for the best." "Maybe." Mr. Jones leaned in towards Dante and whispered, "There's some kids back there causing trouble. I think they're from across town since they're wearing gang colors. Ignore them.....but if you have to do something give me a signal and I'll turn off the camera...I know how your temper is kid."
Dante nodded and took a couple of steps and waited for Victoria to pay. Out of the corner of his eye he looked at the kids. Mr. Jones was right about them being in the gang across town. Dante recognized a few of them from that party three years ago, but he didn't pay any attention to them.

Victoria pulled out a couple of dollars and put it into the machine, and she smiled at the comfortable way Dante seemed to feel around the driver. She gave the old teacher a quick, nervous grin before walking down the aisle with Dante. She really hoped he would pick a spot away from the kids, because she was slightly afraid of them and didn't want to cause trouble with them.

Dante walked down the aisle a little ways towards the front half of the bus. On his way there he hit his hand a pole trying to get around someone's legs. He found a seat that was away from the kids, and asked Victoria if she would sit next to the window. He wasn't sure if the kids would cause problems, but just in case he want to sit on the outside. This way he wasn't trapped and could just get out of the seat. He didn't want to tell her that so he made an excuse that was convincing.

Victoria grinned and scooted in the window seat. "I love sitting on the inside." Not to mention it kept her safe from all of the hooligans. She glanced out the window and tried to look for the old woman she had helped earlier, but she was long gone. She glanced back behind the seat and saw a African American man that had a hoodie and jeans on was staring at her with a murderous look. She turned quickly around, hoping Mr. Jones would start the bus soon. She wanted to get off as fast as possible.

Dante sat down and rubbed his hand. "I didn't think I hit it that hard." He looked around the bus to see what type of people were on. He caught eyes with the guy behind him that had an evil on his face. Dante gave him the glare. The guy caught his message since he put his back on the side of the bus, put up his hood, and listened to his music. The bus started to pull away and Dante got comfortable. "Well we have about thirty minutes before we get there." he said to Victoria. He put his arm to his side and next to Victoria's. His still hurt a little bit but it didn't phase him.
