Sheridan snorted, shooting a glance at the draconic professor, as if he were trying to figure out just what he was up to. Was this a math class, a construction class, or...something else? At least they were heading back inside, maybe there was some hope for math class after all? Or science, building involved physics and math after all. Maybe this class wouldn't be so bad...maybe.
A tail flick, Sheridan gathered his vines and started his walk back to the classroom. Now he was wondering if and how the classroom was going to be big enough to build whatever it was the professor had in mind.

Mitsu had struggled with her items the majority of the way back to the classroom, having to pause here and there to either adjust her hold on the rock she had....or pick one up because she dropped it. When they were finally close, the classroom well within sight, the vines tangled in around Mitsu's feet tripping her up and sending her to the ground in a hurry.
With a muffled 'umph' the lycan let out a small whimper before picking herself back up and trying to gather her things once again. At least she was close so when she finally had everything in her arms again it was a short shuffle the rest of the way to class, her head ducked low in embarrassment from having tripped. Graceful she was not.

Hearing the whimper, Shun paused and glanced behind to see that Mitsu was struggling with her rocks. Again he had to wonder what possessed her (and most of them really) to fetch the big rocks of all things. Frowning a bit, he shook his head to himself and went to drop off his materials into the classroom on his desk.
A few moments later, he returned outside, glancing towards Lizzy briefly as he made his way back to the masked wolf, however it seemed that she had a pretty good handle on things now.
Shaking his head again, he just went back inside to return to his seat.

Tomoko looked at Seiji when they all started herding themselves back into the classroom, looking at his pile, then at her own. To be honest, she didn't exactly have that much variety in it, but she took the comment at face value and simply beamed at the ghost-boil.
"Thank you! I...probably could have worked a bit harder at getting some more interesting things though.." she admitted, using one stick to flip over the rock, then flip it back over again. Her tails twitched a bit sadly under her desk, but she made no further commentary about it.
Instead she looked at what it was Seiji had picked up in their outdoor adventuring.
"Ooooh! You found mushrooms. I bet Jove'd like those." she said, leaning on the desk, propping her chin in her palms with a thoughtful look. HmmmmMMmmmmm~
"I'm a bit more curious to see what this class is going to be, though. I was really looking forward to 'just math'." she frowned. "I'm good at math..." OTL. The chance to do something that would have been something she was already decent at??
SOB. CHANCE MISSED.

Levi nodded slightly to commend Lizzy on her finds. Yeah, looks sturdy far as I can see. But 'im sure yer items'll do fer umm.... she blinked Well, whatever they're gonna be dun turn inta. Never know what'll come outta 'em! Levi tried to be as complimentary on Lizzy's forging abilities as possible despite not understanding the use of mushrooms.
The professor made an announcement in a surprisingly even tone then. This class was definitely different than any other she'd had... but it was a welcome change. After all, a class where she got to be outside and simply enjoy the forest was like no class at all. Then a slight frown developed at this notion; she wasn't really advancing then, was she?...
Surely, she had to believe in the teaching of her superiors though. She had certainly learned the value of mixing herbs in Botany class. The professor must have a plan for them with these items, and so Levi packed both rocks on top of the beetle shell. They didn't really fit into it, but that gave her a base in which to tuck the towering items under one arm and stick the board just between the indent of her waist and the rocks length wise. This way she had a free arm still. She gestured with a wave for Lizzy to join her on their way back. Need help carrin' anythin'?

"I wonder," She chuckled softly as she gestured towards the class, deciding that they should follow everyone back in, "This math class is turning out to be rather interesting!" She wasn't complaining about it though; if anything, it was rather exciting... Better than sitting at her desk and doing calculations for the whole lesson, even if she wasn't too keen on getting dirty.
She then walked back into class and to her desk, putting the materials she had gathered on the desk, still trying not to touch the slime covered plank of wood too much.
Who knows where it's been?

"That is enough."
The dragon's dry voice spoke up just loud enough to be heard by all remaining students in the area. "Please bring your materials back to the classroom. If you have not found anything, you may share with a partner."
He returned to the class in silence, without ant further explanation for their little gathering errand until all the students had settled back into their seats and he had closed the door behind them. Finally he pulled something out of the large leather pouch at his waist and held it gently in his hands.
"Now you will use your materials to build a trap. Before the end of class, please catch a mouse." At this point he opened his hands and set a little furry round creature on the desk, a little translucent mouse-like thing with a long tail and big, round ears. It scampered off to hide somewhere in the classroom, but the dragon pulled several more out of his bag to release into the room. "If you can, try not to hurt your mouse, your goal is to catch it unharmed. Go to it please."
((OOC:
Please RP your student using their materials to build their trap. Be creative with your materials! There is no rule against pairing up, so you may attempt it solo or build a trap with a single partner to no benefit or decrement. If you have no materials, please partner up with someone who does.
Once you have made at least one RP post setting up your trap (one each if you are pairing up), Roll a six-sided die to see if your trap is successful! A five or six means you caught the mouse, and you can give it to the professor to complete the class. If you are partnered with someone else, one person will roll for both of you, and both students will share in the success or failure.
You may attempt to catch a mouse three times in total.))

Oh Jack. Trapping? They were supposed to build traps? It was Petro's turn to look unhappy. "'M not real good at making traps," he muttered to Sheridan from the corner of his mouth as he trudged with the dragon back into class. "'S it okay with y' if we partner up for this? Maybe my slimy stuff can act like a glue for the mouse?" he suggested, studying his materials and trying to assess their worth for this task.

Mitsu looked up at the teacher as he explained what they were supposed to do. Build....a trap? Now she really did feel unprepared. The wolf girl had never really constructed anything before and if she had know what they were making she might have looked for different items....though she did regret the rocks...even before she had made it back to class.
Turning to Shun, she seemed rather nervous for a moment looking around the room wondering what people were going to do. "D..Do you want to partner up?" She asked hoping he had a better idea on constructing something.

So they had to build a mouse trap. That seemed simple enough but Shun wasn't too certain how well that would turn out with his materials. Frowning, he looked them over, trying to think of how he could go about tackling this. Then, glancing towards Mitsu, he considered the offer while looking at what she had gotten as well.
Normally he would like to tackle things solo but it seemed that in this case he might be able to get better results with the array of things to build with rather than what he had gathered on his own.
"Sure," he said while taking a look at what they had. Four big rocks, two vines, a stick, and a beetle shell.
"I guess we could use the rocks as some sort of support and figure out a way to see if we can use the beetle shell to fall onto the mouse," he suggested. As he did, he moved around a couple of the rocks to see what might be the best way to place them.
In retrospect, he was rather glad that he had Bent-Tail stay home today. He didn't want the little guy to risk getting caught in one of the... deadlier traps that may be built.

Mitsu gave a nod and then listened to his suggestion he had for the beetle shell. Ah, yes that would be a safe way to catch a mouse for sure. The little guy wouldn't be injured that way. But how to make it work?
"S..so we could use the vines to suspend the shell..." She was thinking on this trying to fit the pieces together. It was a completely different mode of thinking than she was used to so it was a challenge. "T..they could trip the trap with the other vine?" The rocks being used as supports sounded good. The stick could help suspend the trap and hold it in place or even give something that might trip it. Somehow math had turned into an engineering class.
Gathering her things Mitsu moved closer to Shun to have a look over them all, her hands idly messing with the beetle shell. What if they just....propped the shell up with a stick and tied a vine to the stick and gave it a tug when a mouse came by? Did that sort of thing only happen in cartoons? And what of the rocks? Did they have to use all their materials? Instead of voicing these thoughts though, as she should have done, Mitsu continued to silently ponder.

Listening to her suggestion, Shun nodded quietly while looking at the vines. This might just work out. Though, he wasn't quite certain how this was going to work when they didn't seem to have any bait. Well, he supposed they'd just have to set it up and hope for the best.
Getting the rocks into position, he tried to place things to the best of his ability.
"If this doesn't work we can try to tinker with it for the next go," he said.

Well, that attempt hadn't worked at all. Their little mouse had managed to skitter away. Looking their project over again Mitsu tried to help Shun figure out what to tinker with before they had another go at it. Maybe this time they would have better luck. Here was hoping because if not she would feel that it was her fault that they failed. She really was horrible at being crafty.

Shun frowned as their trap failed once more. He wasn't liking where this was going. Taking a moment, he tried to work with Mitsu to make some final adjustments to see if they could manage to snag themselves a mouse. This really shouldn't be that difficult of a task.

((And with this post I declare their EPIC failure. Really gaia....three ones in a row?))
And again their trap failed if it didn't fall apart a little in the end. As the mouse ran away Mitsu was almost certain she could hear it laughing at them. It made the wolf girl whimper a little, she had never really done badly in a class before....but she had been prepared! She had not been prepared for this.
"...N...now what do we do?" She asked not sure what the next steps should be.
