Cruel dark clouds loom just above the bow and the torrential rains begin to fall Lightning and thunder hack up the sky with blazing blades As dragons fight to win the night
Dɼagaɲa Єadgyσ Dɼaycє ((Being a Whisperer is hard, though. What are the particular challenges the Wolf Whisperer must face? What are the wolf spirits like and how do they help her? Those kinds of things you can post about. Whisperers are given high status because they work hard for the people, not because they were born to it.)) As they went into the kitchen, Dragana nodded at Marnie's answer. "Exactly. You're wise enough to know that you have far too much to learn to take over. If the new Bear apprentice is not a complete idiot, she will realize that as well and learn everything she possibly can before making a move. If she doesn't, then she will most likely die and Astrayl will have to to find a different apprentice. It will take time for her to acquire that knowledge, so I am not concerned about a power struggle at the moment."With that, she had a kitchen worker put together a tray of tea, which she took and began carrying back to where they'd left the Algernons. She wasn't expecting to find Astrayl walking toward her, and a flash of irritation passed through her. Hadn't she said she was going to get them some refreshments? Were they finished with their discussion so soon? "Astrayl, was there something you needed?" Her voice was calculatedly charming and sweet.

__________________________________________________________________________________________ ~Marnie~
Marnie tried to hold back the grin, but ended up only making it look wry. She hadn't been around Dragana all that much, but even she could catch "the tone."
"Ah, why don't I carry the tea tray cousin?" Marnie offered and took the tray with a twirl, "I can go on ahead to meet Miss Algernon too, to make sure she gets a cup before bed."
She waved a few fingers and took off at a long stride; her tempest dragon friend floating along above. Marnie had a brief thought about the height of Drayce family ceilings and the fact that dragon spirits flew. ...She'd never really thought on it before.

Astrayl watched at the dragon apprentice ran by. "She seems to be in high spirits." He tried his best to not notice his accidental pun. Soon he turned back to Dragana who on the outside seemed happy but her aura said something otherwise. She is usually pretty good at hiding her true intent but every now and again she has flashes of emotions, quick ones but not quick enough for someone like Astrayl not to catch. 'This girl, being born in the famous Drayce estate doesn't seem to be all its cracked up to be. I guess that is understandable. Earlier her other mentioned how Dragana turned down dozens of suitors. Most of the were probably high ranking nobles looking to gain some status.' Astrayl didn't care much for his status. There were to many rumors about him and his younger days that it became impossible to build a new image for himself. Although it didn't seem like Dragana was bothered by these rumors, even if some of them are true. 'This is going to be a interesting marriage.'
He checked himself back into reality and responded to Dragana. "I came to ask if we could talk in private again. My business with Toki and Ren are over for now. Starting tomorrow morning she will begin her training here if you don't mind?"

The wind, it was subtle, the air delectable, and yet Reen's mind was not at ease. The slender slightly pale, yet athletic male had a agenda. To meet with his Aunt Shira Phelan and finish his training, where was he now? In town sitting down on a Tavern's roof thinking himself to sleep, worrying about things that would be deemed as irrelevance to the current task his Mother and Father sent him out to do before their short comings. With a deep sigh, another breath Reen picked up his rather detailed Katana and with a slightly push off from his heels was about five seconds from hitting the ground.
Landing lightly he removed the delicate strands of hair from his face and looked towards his Aunts estate near the horizon.
"Beauty," he paused, turning his body towards the trail leading to the estate. "dazzling beauty."
He pressed towards the estate, the travel would take half an hour but it was a must. Thinking back to his younger days, he hadn't really spent time with his aunt let alone held a conversation which would lead over two minutes before the awkward feelings arose. His light colored, violet eyes scanning the area enjoying the scenery. His left hand clutched tightly around the sheathed Katana, his right gently placed in his right pocket. He continued his journey towards the Phelan Estate. Making it, shortly after the sun had started to set the man gently tapped on the door. He stepped back lightly, not slightly amazed by the kingdoms beauty, but agreed that it was such a beauty to beheld. Shortly after the massive doors opened showing one of her servants.
With a bow. "You must be Master Reen, I will noticy Mistress Phelan about your arrival. Please, come in" Reen nodded and followed the male inside into the living room. With a gesture to sit he nodded again, sitting crossing his legs he placed the Katana leaning on his crossed legs. "Mistress Phelan will be with you shortly, do you request any type of beverage? Reen shook his head, with another bow the servant walked off. Going to find Shira he bowed towards. "Your nephew awaits your presence in the living room my Mistress. After notifying her he left. Reen had rose from the seat looking around the room, his Katana resting on the couch he noticed a family portrait. It was his Aunt and Mother along with other siblings and his grandparents. He stared at it aimlessly replaying the day his parents were killed.

Shira looked up at the servant. She was on her knees with her sleeves rolled up, helping a maid wash a squalling infant. The child obviously wasn't hers, but Shira allowed her servants to have families and live with their families on her estate, and she thought of aiding them in taking care of those families as one of her duties as Whisperer. "My nephew? He's early. I wasn't expecting him until after supper." She handed the infant to the maid who she'd been helping and stood, wiping her hands on her skirt. "Thank you, Sanderson. I'll go greet him now," she smiled. Shira rolled her sleeves back down and headed to the living room, where she saw Reen staring at the family portrait on the mantle. "That was painted years ago," she said softly. "Always makes me feel nostalgic to look at it. How have you been, Reen?"

Reen had been staring at the family portrait for a while, he hadn't seen his mother in years and it always brought a calming feeling to him gazing upon her beauty. When his aunt had arrived into the room he had felt her come in but he didn't turn to look at her. A very soothing voice she had, he listened to her closing his eyes. His Aunt was only that of Thirty yet she still had the look of a younger women, still lively and generous unlike himself. Reen had upon his eyes not turning his head he slowly turned his eyes to their corners to look at her. He stood silent for a moment before moving towards the couch to attain his sword.
"Yes, is calming seeing my mother, your sister once again. I've been fine Aunt Shira." he spoke softly not looking towards as he picked up the Katana. Turning towards her he placed his right hand back into his right pocket studying his Aunt. "And what about yourself, I see nothing has changed much in the few years I've grown older."
He looked upon her, his Aunt a women he hadn't seen in over seven, no eight years. The feeling of seeing her again was comforting giving that she and his mother slightly resembled each other. He knew he was home, somewhere he needed to be.

Shira chuckled. "That's true. Not much has really changed here aside from the fact that my daughter once enjoyed being with her mother and she now spends much more time with her seafaring merchant father." She shrugged. "I am glad to see you're doing all right, Reen. As for myself, I'm well. Only a little tired. It has been rather hectic around here preparing for the New Moon Festival."

Dɼagaɲa Єadgyσ Dɼaycє Dragana smiled briefly at the pun, and attentively listened to Astrayl's question. She placed her hand on Astrayl's arm and looked up at him through her eyelashes. "Is it so important that it cannot wait until tomorrow morning? Today has been long and eventful, and I feel the need for a good rest."What she said was mostly true. Dragana was meticulous about getting a good night's rest. It was far easier to rise at a moment's notice for emergencies if she normally slept well. If not for the Bear Whisperer's unexpected arrival, she would have been preparing for bed now. She wasn't exactly tired, but a proper lady did not stay up gallivanting at all hours of the night except during major events. -Meanwhile- Jonathan had finished directing the servants in airing out the rooms for the guests and had sent them to guide the guests to their rooms. The Algernons would be in the wing on the other side of the house from Lady Dragana's rooms, and their rooms were right next to each other. If his lady's new fiance attempted to sully her virtue, the man have to cross the entire house and go past Jonathan's own quarters first. Jonathan was quite determined to see that Lady Dragana's character would be above reproach until her wedding, for he was steadfastly loyal to the powerful young woman. He had no family or children of his own, and had come to regard the Lady during his service as the Drayce steward as fondly as if she were his own. He walked back to his own quarters and noticed that the windows would soon need to be cleaned. If tomorrow was clear, he'd see that it was taken care of. ((Some exposition for Ren so she can get to sleep. Just so everybody knows, it's ok to temporarily commandeer Drayce servants to move your characters around. Try to keep it logical, that's all. Kitchen servants won't be delivering messages, ladies' maids won't be helping the men dress, and sculleries don't know jack about running errands. Don't be afraid to take liberties with the setting either. The Drayce manor is a really big place, and it's beautifully furnished. Think Woodchester Mansion style, except finished with the finest things money can buy. Drayces are rich merchants, they can afford fancy-shmancy stuff.))

"'Scuse me." Ren grabbed the sleeve of a passing maid. "Do you know where the guest rooms are? I'm the Bear Whisperer's Apprentice, and I was told there was a room set up for me." The maid looked scared. Ren blinked, realizing her aura might be a bit too strong, and softened her expression. "Sorry. Didn't mean to frighten you. Could you show me to my room?" The maid nodded and hurried off down the hall, motioning for Ren to follow. She did so, noting the furnishings and beauty of the interior as she passed through. Ren wasn't really tired, but her spirit companion apparently was, so she slipped into the lavish bed in the room that had been set up for her, laying on top of the covers because she wasn't used to such a soft bed or so many blankets. That way, she fell into an easy sleep; light enough that she would wake at the slightest sound of something out of place.

"I see, well I've never really like speaking to my cousin, she's . . . Well, I'm glad to hear that." He moved to a different position in the room surveying as he didn't earlier. Flipping the Katana from his left to right hand the gentle man went to the roses sitting on the mantle. Raising his hand he gently picked a rose from the unique vase. He smelled the rose lightly looking out the window not replying to his Aunt's sentence. He remembered going to the New Moon Festival with his Mother and Father when he was a little boy, this time around it would be something different.
"This will be the year I've been back for the festival, the first year I've not gone with my parents. Sad yes, but its new beginning." He sighed lightly turning to his Aunt he moved towards the satchel he had carried with him, inside he removed a book. Placing the book on the table he looked towards her raising from the table. "This book was my Mother's who also was a whisperer like yourself, so you must know why I'm here Aunt Shira. This isn't just a social visit."
His eyes narrowed, the wind beating on the glass now as it whistle loudly. The male's demeanor changed from the friendly setting to that of a serious nature. The room was silent, tension not yet raised but it was bringing up a awkward confrontation. Lightly, but swiftly tying the Katana to his hip Reen had folded his arms switching his weight from right to left.

Shira crossed her hands in front of her and nodded. "Yes. You are to be my new Apprentice, Reen. Of course, there is much to do with the approach of the New Moon Festival, so much of your training will have to wait. However, this gives you a chance to see that being the Wolf Whisperer is not only working around the estate and keeping things beautiful. It is also providing comfort, joy, and some entertainment for our people."

Speaking swiftly he moved to put the book into his satchel, wrapping it in the silk scarf, the last remembrance of his Mother he sat down. Laying the Katana again, against his crossed legs he folded his arms while closing his lightly colored, violet eyes. The wind subsided momentarily as the night took place over the day and the moon had arisen lit up the nights playground. Reen had released the contained air within his lungs softly, he had thought that his training would have started immediately after coming to his Aunt's Estate but with the coming of the New Moon Festival it was halted somewhat.
He did not become bothered by it much as he was in no rush to take the full responsibility his Aunt has currently. Such a fate befallen him and he had wondered why her daughter hadn't taking this fate as it should have been her own."I do understand Aunt Shira, I have no problem with the wait due to the fact that I did come at a crucial time for you." Opening his eyes he looked into hers, with another sigh and a moving gesture getting up from the couch he placed his left hand on his hip switching his weight onto his left leg. "If I can be any help to you, I am here to lend helping hand as well."

"I do know you're not fond of people, Reen," Shira said softly. "But you will need to learn how to deal with them anyway, as that is the duty of a Whisperer." Hearing him say he understood her predicament, she chuckled. "Oh, no, the Festival will be a part of your training. You know I and your mother always did something for our people's entertainment during the New Moon Festival, and that means you will be required to do something as well. Perhaps show off some of your beautiful swordsmanship." She glanced out the window. "Ah, but you're probably tired from your journey." She motioned to a passing servant. "Show young Master Reen to his room, please, Vira." Then she turned back to her nephew. "I'll have someone wake you when it is time for supper," she smiled.

Reen winced at her comment about partaking in the New Moon Festival. As the wind whispered against the glass he sighed lightly, he hadn't been to back here in so long and he knew what was to be held there. Everyone knew him due to his Mother and Aunt Shira and after his disappearance serious questions were raised. Gently removing some strands of hair he sat there quietly thinking to himself. He hadn't really planned on displaying any type of skill yet, to anyone. He had left to study the way of the sword and once his training was complete he had returned. Snapping back to reality he had watched as she summoned one of the servants, listening quietly he nodded rising slowly grabbing his satchel as well as the katana.
He still was in deep thought and hadn't really responded to her, before reaching the door he had paused abruptly turning towards her slightly, his shoulder facing her as he turned his light colored, purple eyes towards her."I guess I have no choice in the matter, well for now I'll retire to my room and we'll talk more later. Thank you Aunt Shira for letting me stay here." He bowed and followed the servant. Silent, back into his thought process Reen had ventured off back to the thoughts of his mother. Her touch, her smell, her smile, her warmth, these feelings still so very familiar to him and yet he missed it dearly. He replayed the open meadow, the grass a vibrant green, the wind lightly beating across his face as he hair had danced with the wind. He was a young boy out with his Mother who had been watching him play. He wasn't more the seven, another sigh escape his perfect, thin lips. Coming to reality once more as he had reached his room he thanked the servant and walked in closing the door behind him.
The room was rather big, something different from Reen's taste but the beauty of it made it comfortable to maintain in. The canopy bed covered by elegant, woven silk. The intricately made dresser as well as night stands fit the room setting, it also had a balcony which was a plus to Reen. Placing his satchel on the desk and his sword on the bed Reen opened the doors to the balcony. The night sky lit by the moons beautiful, white glare, his light colored, purple eyes roamed around the area which the view had been an amazing sight. He leaned on the railing as he listened to the wind dance between the trees and along the grass. "I must rest, too many situations play around my mind."

Shira smiled gently at Reen. "Of course. I would never leave family out in the cold." When he had left, she reclined on the window seat looking out on the front of the estate. A small pack of wolf spirits had mixed with a few natural wolves and were gamboling about the lawn. Shira found it quite awe-inspiring that animals could see their spirit counterparts, and it made her feel closer to the beauty of nature to know that she and certain members of her family could see them as well.
